Metal, Wind, Fire, Light, Darkness, Lightning and Gravity. Spells thrown out casually had begun to decimate the land around the epicenter. Irene sat under a tree with Wendy and Gildarts, all three witnessing the near apocalyptic release of different elements.
Tidal waves of flame that incinerated the forests, rampant lightning spears that blew up everything in its way, shredding winds that violently ripped trees up by the roots, light that resembled the creation of a star and dark that resembled the void of space. Irene was probably the least surprised at the unleashed elemental fury, but she was still very much surprised. As it turns out, she wasn't overdoing it by stretching Tenrou island this much.
Even though she did that partially so she could look awesome to Erza and Wendy.
"Are they gonna destroy the island..?" Gildarts asked, eyes widened at the havock being let loose.
"Currently, the island's the size of Fiore. But at this rate? I can't quite say. Luckily, I'm here. And the very fact that Yang is restoring just as much as Yin is destroying. Of course, whatever she restores starts attacking her sister.." Irene noted, watching a one hundred foot tree get blasted to pieces after Yang turned it into a golem.
"The magic..." Irene turned her attention to Wendy, catching her staring intently at the battle.
"Wendy..?"
"The magic feels strange. Bigger and bigger.. more powerful. It's swirling around them.. trying to... trying to impress them?" Wendy cautiously muttered.
Irene understood. Maybe it was because Wendy was so in tune with wind Ethernano, but she could see it swirling around the two. She had noticed the anomaly of Yin and Yang soon after they settled in Fairy Tail. They passively created magic. Ethernano. Every beat of their heart, every breath they exhaled, the ambient magic rose just a little. Almost impercievable, normally. But when they fought in spars, the effect grew. She even noted when they had sex, the magic created from it had turned the mountains behind Fairy Tail into an excellent training ground for mages.
But for normal people? It was poisonous. And now, the magical activity was surging to levels where mages could see the particles of Ethernano surrounding them.
"Why're they going this far? If they're showing the kids something, a simple spar would've been more than enough." Gildarts stood up, preparing to intervene.
"Don't. They have sparred before. To train their unique magics. Yin spoke of a promise she made to a friend of hers. To break his curse. But to do that, she needed to get her magic, Ruin, to a higher level. And she saw the best results when she was pushed into fights with Yang. If you're going to try and step in there, I'll warn you. You may not live long enough to get a word in." Irene warned, before feeling a tremor in the ground.
When she looked up, her lips twitched in a mix of frustration and awe.

*RUUUUMBLE!*
Yin's lips twitched as she watched the golden light of Yang's Creation wash over dozens of massive trees. Both had pushed themselves into using their Witchblades and while the view was amazing, they had no time to be distracted. They had gotten into a 'flow', where nobody held back.
*HISSSS!!*
A truly massive serpent made of bark, fiber and plants dug through the ground, fanged maw open wide to swallow Yin whole. The created beast was over a kilometer in sheer length and over two hundred meters in girth. It gave chase as Yin ran through the devastated forests, dodging truck-sized fireballs lobbed by Yang as she rode atop her creation's head.
*SWISH!*
Unfortunately for Yang, despite its size, Yin was using her Semblance and was still far faster than the rampaging plant serpent. After getting a hundred meters in front, Yin spun around and inhaled deeply. Even adding some handsigns for reasons that confused Yang, she exhaled an enormous wave of blue flames.
▂▂▃▃▄▄▅▅!
'I should have said: Katon- Gouka Mekkyaku or Yor Toor Shul..' Yin grinned as a destroying tsunami of flames washed over the snake and quickly incinerated the plant creation.
Her eyes narrowed when something moved through the flame and she quickly created a mana platform to leap back as Yang cratered the ashy ground with her fist, blowing charred wood and ashes out everywhere.
*BOOM!*
Yang shot forward, totally focused on her sister as her fist shot out. Yin held her arm up, blocking the hit that accompanied a loud metallic ringing as a result of the Witchblades striking each other. Yang swung again, but Yin was faster, moving back, pivoting on her heel and hitting Yang in the face with a backwards tornado kick that sent the blonde flying through several burnt trees.
*Clack!*
Yang pushed up as soon as her hands touched the severely damaged ground, pushing Creation to make something huge, something solid. A mountain formed under her, converting the scorched forest into solid rock and sediment. Seeing it grow over five hundred meters, she leapt backward and inhaled, summoning metal and fire Ethernano around her.
Flame magic and metal magic both wrapped around her arms as she dove into the mountain and struck.
"Creation Dragon's Meteor Barrage!" Yang shouted gleefully as she blasted the mountain apart, turning it into flaming chunks of molten metal and stone that came at Yin like a meteor shower.
"Not bad..." Yin grinned, spriting through the devastation that tore up the ground, rock, remaining trees and devastated more of the landscape.
Her arms would strike out, punching away the smaller pieces that flew her way, while she created mana platforms to maneuver away from the bigger ones. But it was impossible to dodge them all. It was like trying to stay dry in a typoon.
So Yin summoned her gravity magic in her right hand, feeding enough of it into her palm to once more create a gravity core. Though this time, she hadn't set it ablaze. She kept it growing as she dodged the larger chunks, while the smaller ones slammed into her aura and drained it away percent by percent.
*RUUUMBLE!*
Then, when she had it grow large enough, she punched it directly at Yang, shooting it through the tide of flaming stones and metal.
"Not this time!" Yang transformed, growing golden and white horns, wings, scales and her tail out as she called on Creation and forcibly seized control of the gravity core flying at her.
"Whew.. I got-" Yang's eyes widened marginally as she realized.
Yin wasn't truly attacking her with this. She was dragging away a lot of the lighter flying rocks and redirecting them at Yang. Yang herself saw millions of flying debris change course and fly right back at her. But now, she had control over the gravity core. Yang grinned and channeled her light and fire magic into it, creating the inverse of what Yin hit her with earlier. And before the flying metal and rocks could hit her, she placed the burning bright core in front of her and allowed the little meteorites to cover the core.
"...Shit." Yin gaped incredulously and shot forward to stop the devastating attack she knew Yang was about to send her way.
But the larger meteorites were still falling, stalling her just long enough for Yang's attack to grow to the size of the previous mountain she had created. She held the molten star in her hands with a smirk and shot it right at her twin.
"Hey! I'm called SUNNY LITTLE DRAGON for a reason, Sis!" Yang laughed as Yin stopped in her tracks and was forced to block the mini star with her bare hands.
"HRRRGHHH!!" Yin grunted as her entire body hissed from the sheer heat and light emanating from the mini star.
And just like the little meteorites, the large ones added to the weight and mass as they fell into the gravity core. Yin's feet goughed the dirt as the mini star pushed and burned her body. Her fists struck out as she partially transformed, purple and black horns, wings, scales and her tail emerging as she layered herself in dark magic, flame magic and gravity magic, punching at the ball of superheated death.
But it wasn't slowing down. And it was too heavy, too unstoppable to lift and blast away. So she called on Ruin. The tingle of familiarity as she called on it reminded her of when she killed Garmr.
*Fsssh..*
Truth be told, it wasn't loud like the attacks she had launched until that point. It was eerie and quiet as it crept out of her chest. Her blazing blue flames caused by her semblance turned a calm, intense purple. The Witchblade armor itself hummed in ackowledgement, taking on a more metallic purple hue as the essence of Ruin flowed over her skin. The magic surrounding her submitted in its presence, yet didn't go away as it usually did. They supplemented it, turning Yin's arms a purplish black as she firmly grasped the mini star.
"Haaah..." Yin let out a breath she didn't realize she was holding and closed her clawed hands, cracking the mini star like an egg and letting all the magic and material it was composed of, crumble away to nothing as it fell on her.
The essence of Ruin surged through her like a quiet fire, making her hair float behind her. She looked up at the sky and touched her cheeks, finding them wet with tears. She was crying. And she knew why. She was utterly enraptured. A sense of purpose, belonging and understanding overcame her as she stepped forward.
"Aaah~ This... This is.. perfection. Destroyer.." Yin chuckled, then looked down, seeing her sister over two kilometers away.
She hadn't even noticed the attack had carried her so far. But experiencing the kind of bliss and understanding she was going through, it was to be expected.
She evolved.
Her understanding of Ruin, how to make it strong, how to progress in strength from here on. It became clear to her. And yet the door was only halfway open, she could tell. There was something deeper about it. But now she knew what to do.
And that was, destroy.
Yin inhaled and grinned, teeth gleaming as amethyst light rose from her chest.
"You need to dodge this, Yang~ Before Creation, must come Destruction." Yin placed her hands together, under her head as the light coalesced in her throat.
"Hah! At the risk of sounding chuuni.. or like Minato... Ruin Dragon's Flame of Annihilation!"
▂▂▃▃▄▄▅▅!
A sea of deep purple flames shot out of her mouth, sweeping through the foliage like an unstoppable beast. It quickly crossed the two kilometer distance and approached Yang, who felt a cold sweat build up on her neck. She quickly flew up, using mana platforms to carry her up faster. Just in time for the destructive flames to pass under her.
She felt herself chuckling in awe. As despite Ruin's previous showings, where it utterly annihilated everything it touched, it only destroyed the material. The magic within the flames almost joyfully swirling as the flames wreaked havoc.
"You can precision target what you destroy.. wait...." Yang looked closer at the flames, her eyes reading the intention of its destruction.
It was only allowed to destroy the area and her armor. Other than that? The flames would only mildly sting.
"Pfft... hahahaha! Sis, you perv!!" Yang howled.

Makarov stared on as the fight finally came to a close. He looked incredibly gloomy, hunched over as he stared at the destruction that was, mercifully, only covering half the island. Though that island was the size of a country...
He couldn't bring himself to look at Mavis, who was floating next to him, having gone quiet ever since Yin had showed her last, devastating move. He was just praying Irene could reverse the damage and that Mavis wasn't going to hit him with Fairy Glitter.
"First Master... ah.. they're good kids, really-" Makarov turned around to face Mavis, but found her eyes utterly transfixed on the purple flames.
".....it can destroy the conceptual.. Zeref.... it's almost over.." Mavis whispered to herself, looking up at the sky with dewy eyes.
"First Master..?"
"Ah..! Makarov, prepare a picnic will you? I know you brought enough food and booze. I'd say quite a few passed the exam, wouldn't you?" Mavis turned to him with a sunny smile and pat his shoulder enthusiastically.
Makarov sighed and decided to let it go. She was in a great mood after all. If she suddenly got mad, he wasn't sure his heart could take it.
