After they moved some distance away from the area, the water started bubbling again.
Alex stopped walking. "The heck," he muttered.
His voice was low, but Emily and the others still heard him.
Olivia stepped closer to ask what he meant, but then she saw his phone and her eyes widened too.
Alex was holding his phone toward them. On the screen, they could see what was happening in the lake.
The "horn" they had seen was not really a horn.
The outer skin peeled back like a banana. Inside, there was something that looked like exposed flesh.
From the tip, water poured out, the same water that had filled the oasis.
As the water level rose and covered the strange horn, the flesh inside started turning translucent.
It became almost invisible to normal eyes. The whole scene looked wrong.
"What the hell is that, brother? It reminds me of something I don't want to remember," Emily said.
It reminded her of something from biology class, and that was not a pleasant thought.
