Even though she didn't really mean it in her heart, Madison Barton still said it.
Although his frivolous behavior touched the darkest part of her heart, when she saw his sunny smile, her panicked and uneasy heart calmed down.
He must be joking, right? He wouldn't really do anything to her; she was just overreacting.
Sigh...
She didn't want to be like this either, but she couldn't control her tears, her emotions, or those terrifying memories that suddenly invaded her mind...
"Really not forgiving me?"
Feeling her attitude soften, Marvin Lennon's heart filled with endless joy.
He took a step forward, tugged at his pajamas, and changed the subject, asking, "The pajamas your mom bought me fit quite well, don't they?"
Mom?
Madison was stunned for a moment before realizing he was talking about her mom.
"Get lost."
Calling her mom "mother-in-law" was too much; he was deliberately taking advantage of her. She wasn't really his fiancée.
