Chapter 246 - Chapter 240: The System Identity

The attack completely wiped out the entity known as Ankhseram from the domain of death. Karna then looked at where Ankhseram stood before, and now not even ashes remained to prove that he existed.

Karna did not just kill Ankhseram, but wiped him from the timeline itself in an incomplete manner.

After gaining acknowledgement over the majority of the aspects of death, he also realised why Ankhseram had spread the legend of the god of death throughout the whole world.

Karna's earlier conjecture of it being a way to absorb power from the masses was wrong. What Ankhseram was planning on doing was similar to what Doomsday did in an old DC comic.

As long as the people remembered his name and believed that a god of death named Ankhseram existed, he had a chance of resurrecting even if he was killed, one way or another.

It's like how Doomsday resurrected from the memories of the people he had injured. Something that has more chances of happening in a magic-rich world like Fairy Tail.

So, to make sure Ankhseram could not harm his loved ones again, Karna had to completely delete him from the timeline itself. But doing it directly would, in fact, cause a lot of problems within the timeline.

If he completely erased him from the beginning of his birth, Nirvana would not have happened, which would have changed the entire world in a drastic manner. Zeref and Mavis would have had very different lives.

And even if he did not mean for it to happen, Ankhseram's reputation made sure that fewer and fewer people played around with the domain of life and death. So removing him from history would have dangerous repercussions.

So Karna manipulated the death factors to kill Ankhseram in an incomplete manner. The name and identity known as Ankhseram have now been completely erased from the world. But at the same time, his actions have not been erased.

If before people remembered Ankhseram, the death god who cursed people who played with life and death, from now onwards they will only remember the nameless death god that will curse those who dishonour the balance of life and death.

This will prevent Ankhseram from returning one day.

"But a few will still remember him," Karna muttered. Even though Ankhseram had been erased from reality, those whose lives he directly interacted with would remember him.

But they were too few in number and also were not at all interested in causing harm by bringing him back.

Karna then took a look at himself and looked through what was happening to his body.

Because he chose to accept all the aspects, his ascension process had already begun and would be completed within a century or two.

"Yeah, I can't stay that long in here," Karna decided as he focused deeply.

"Hey, system, you're there right now?"

[Yes, Host, and congratulations on saving the world.]

The system immediately replied.

Karna knew that the death realm could not affect the system in any way whatsoever. The system was created by Jason, the God of the Multiverse. So the only reason the system stopped working was because Jason might have decided it was time for him to face his greatest foe on his own.

"Alright, system, how well did I do?"

[Calculating...…..

Host has completed the main quest finale.

Saving the entire planet from the god of death.

The amount of fate energy obtained from saving the entire planet from destruction and allowing future generations to exist is almost limitless and infinite.

Host has unlocked the Creation Module.

Host now has the ability to create anything as long as he uses his own magic as fuel.

This limitation is placed so that this ability does not break the balance of the universe.]

Karna read the reward with an astonished expression. The system had basically rewarded him by making him able to do almost anything.

He then imagined creating a skill that allowed him to have the talent to use any type of magic in the world.

Immediately, his mind was filled with information about the amount of magic it would take to create it.

Let's just say, it was a lot. Almost as much as was needed to create an R System.

But it was still doable. Unlike before, when it was impossible to create such talent in this world, paying this amount of magic to gain this god-tier ability was so worth it. With his death and life heart, he could do it within one or two years. Plus, he could also create a skill that stored excess magic created in his body so he could use Creation whenever he wanted to. And a storage skill like that did not seem like it would take too much magic.

[Congratulations again, Host, for completing the final mission and saving the world.

As such, although it is sad, I guess it is time to say goodbye.]

The system suddenly opened up again. Karna was surprised at the declaration.

"Hey, even if I completed all the missions, it does not mean that you have to go, right? I would like it if you could remain here like you always did. I don't think Jason would mind it that much," Karna said, as he was not ready to lose a friend he had for more than two decades.

[Maybe Jason would not mind. But for me personally, I think it's time I go and meet my family.]

"Family, what do you—"

Karna was not able to complete the sentence as suddenly the system window in front of him began to glow with a bright white light, blinding his eyes, which had the capability to kill photons themselves.

The moment the light vanished, Karna immediately got his sight back. The system window in front of him had disappeared. But in its place, there stood a small girl he recognised easily.

But there was something different about her, as the girl in front of him had a scar on her forehead that was not present on the person that Karna personally knew.

But Karna immediately recognised the cause of the difference as well.

"You are Levy, aren't you? From the future that was destroyed by the dragons."

A/N - Hope you like it.
