The destroyed dimension Levy was slightly floating from the ground as she looked at Karna with a smile.
"Well, with your intelligence, I don't need to tell you how I became the system right?"
"Jason must have found you after Lucy was sent back to the past. He must have made a deal with you to send you to the heaven of your timeline safely as long as you assist me as a system in this timeline" Karna speculated.
"Close enough, but Jason is not that cold-hearted. He gave me a choice to go directly to the heaven where my friends are right now, or to help you save the world and then move on to the place where my friends are.
I just decided to help you create a world with happy endings before I meet them.
And in a way, now I will be able to tell them that there exists a world where our comrades had a wonderful addition who saved all of us" Levy said as her body started turning into pieces of pure golden magic.
"Thank you for everything you have given me all these years, Levy" Karna said as he realised it was goodbye.
"It was my pleasure to help you through everything as well" Levy said with a bright smile as she vanished. In the last few moments, Karna was able to clearly see the scars disappearing from her body before she vanished.
There was silence for a few seconds as Karna took in everything that happened right now.
"Well, I think it's best I go back to meet my family as well" he then looked at his own hands which were now radiating pure death energy.
The ascension process had already begun and his body was being constantly changed by the aspects of death to completely accommodate every aspect.
Karna could currently feel the death energy leaking out of his body, and the chances of it being harmful to everyone outside were very high. So he could not go out until the process was complete.
But waiting around for years was not something he was planning on doing right now.
Karna activated the creation module.
He found out that he had enough magic to complete his plan.
He activated the skill and suddenly he split up into two.
He looked back at the body currently standing still in the domain of death.
"This body will remain in this dimension, undergoing the changes required to complete the ascension. While the body I am currently occupying will go back into the physical world.
After the ascension process is over, the two bodies will combine into one body" Karna spoke out loud to the aspects who were currently modifying his body.
"But for now, bye-bye" Karna waved his hand as he opened a portal and jumped through it.
'Should we have told him about what was happening in the world after he killed Ankhseram'
'Well only a few were being affected by it and he will face it when he gets out'
The aspects spoke to themselves as they saw Karna run away.
'Are we that scary that the kid felt like running away'
'It's all because you told us to be serious with him'
'That wasn't me, it was him'
'Nah it was her'
The aspects kept on fighting with each other while a few others were sighing as they watched it happen.
After a few seconds, Karna opened his eyes to find out that he was back in the lab where the original portal was made.
He looked around and found out that everything looked the same except for Acnologia's body which had completely turned into dust.
He suddenly got a bad premonition.
He turned around and found Zeref and Mavis shining in a silver light, breaking down into small white particles.
"Oh shit, the curse of immortality must have gone!!! Don't worry guys, I can stop it" Karna exclaimed as he was about to use the creation module.
"It's alright Karna" Mavis interrupted him, realising that Karna was about to stop them from moving on.
"No it's not alright. You guys might have lived for centuries but you were trapped in that body because of the curse all this time. I can at least make it so that you guys will get your normal bodies back.
The spell I am making will make sure that you will live a normal mortal life for the next seventy years at least." Karna hurriedly spoke as he watched more and more of Mavis disappearing as the seconds passed.
But Mavis still had a gentle smile as she placed one of her hands on the side of Karna's face.
"Karna, we have lived longer than we were supposed to all this while. Even though it was not our fault, our actions had led to the death of countless people in the amount of time we have lived in this world" Mavis paused slightly and turned towards Zeref who nodded in agreement with a small smile as well. Mavis then turned back to Karna.
"So I think it's time for us to move on, and hope for the best in the next one"
Karna gritted his teeth as he did not want Mavis to go this way. But at the same time, he knew this was her choice and if he respected her, he could not go against it. Tears were slowly flowing from the corner of his eyes as he realised that this was goodbye.
Seeing that he accepted it, Mavis smiled once more.
"I was the first person to find you in this world and to find you being the last person to send me off seems almost poetic." she said as she kissed the top of Karna's head.
"Goodbye my son"
"Goodbye Mom"
As Karna watched, Mavis and Zeref vanished into nothingness as the curse's hold on them finally disappeared.
He wiped the tears on his face as he realised he still had a lot to do.
The war had been won, but he needed to make sure the peace attained by it remained as long as possible.
