The next morning, Yohana woke up early. After freshening up and changing, she made her way toward the King's chamber. Just as she approached the entrance, she caught the sound of Iskander's voice, flatly stating his total lack of intention to ever marry.
"Your Majesty, if you refuse to take a Luna Queen, how do you expect to run this kingdom effectively?" a council member questioned, his tone heavy with frustration.
Yohana noticed a group of palace servants whispering among themselves nearby and walked over to them.
"What's going on?" she asked in a low voice. They had all gathered outside the main chamber in compliance with an earlier directive.
"The King has been successfully pushing off his marriage for a year now. But no kingdom can survive indefinitely without its Queen," one of the servants replied, keeping her eyes on the closed doors.
"Who would even want to marry him?" Yohana muttered, a dry chuckle escaping her lips.
