Alastor and Sukuna could be seen, walking side by side, followed by what looked like eggs with arms and legs, and little cracks for eyes.
"So, tell me honestly Sukuna, how did a powerful demon like you end up as the Princess's glorified bodyguard?" Alastor cheekily asked, as he absent mindedly scratched the scar under his eye.
"Oh? Why do you want to know?" Sukuna asked back, with his usual bored tone.
"Well you know me, I quite like to know things. Especially if it's an ancient secret, ESPECIALLY if it's about the strongest overlord in Hell..." Alastor's destorted voice echoed on the silent streets, any other demon who walked that street has long disappeared, voluntarily, or otherwise.
"Hark, Alastor! How fare thee this day?" Zestial suddenly appeared before the two, emerging from the shadows in his tall spider-like form. "Oh? Sukuna, my good friend, how art the nine circles treating thee these days? It has been quite a while since last we met." Zestial turned to the other overlord, and bowed slighty, not in submission, but in a hard earned mutual respect.
"Zestial, it hasn't been that long, has it? What is a few hundred years for beings like us, eh?" Sukuna said, while nodding to Zestial.
"Well this is quite a surprise. I had no idea you two knew each other." Alastor said in a shocked tone, a glint appearing in his eyes. "Pray tell Zestial, how did you come to know Sukuna?" he asked, trying to get information out of the other two.
"Well if you really must know, it was around a thousand years ago if I recall..." Zestial started, but was quickly cut off by Sukuna.
"The threads of this story are quite tangled, aren't they...ZESTIAL?" Sukuna's eyes narrowed at Zestial, surprised by his willingness to tell this tale to another demon. "Maybe some other time we can discuss it. Now, we have a meeting to get to..." he said, as they reached tube like elevators. As the three overlords entered the tube, the eggs tried to do so as well, but were pushed out by Alastor.
"Please be so kind, and wait here for now. Guard the entrance until I return, will you?" he bent down to the level of the eggs, and said with a threatening smile.
As the elevator doors closed, the eggs saluted at Alastor's orders, but all of them quickly looked back at the tube.
"Oh look! Fred is up there!" said one of the eggs.
"That's George you idiot!" another one said.
"Nope. We're both here. I think that's Frank actually."
"Since when did we have names?" the last one asked, confused.
As entered the meetingroom, everyone looked shocked. Not only did Alastor return after 7 years, but Sukuna was there as well. Seeing the two of them together like this, it was like an Omen, and all the other Overlords knew it.
After Sukuna took a seat, Zestial sat down on his right, Alastor on his left.
While everyone took their places, three unannounced "guests" entered the room. They were the Three Vs. Vox in the middle, Velvette to his left, and Valentino on his right.
"Greetings you fucks!" Vox yelled, annoying the other overlords. "I heard there was a meeting taking place, since when are we not inv..." as he talked, he looked around the room, quickly noticing Alastor. But what made him shut up, was the one who sat next to the damned Radio Demon.
"Well, with everyone gathered, we can finally begin the meeting." Carmilla started, trying to ignore the rude interruptions by Vox. "First business of the day, Alastor, you're back." she said in a flat tone.
"Good to be back! I'm sure you all missed me! Or at least were wondering where I went." Alastor said with a huge smile, looking around the room, only to see everyone shaking their heads.
"Anyways..." Carmilla continued, "Master Sukuna, always a pleasure to see you attend these meetings." she said with venom in her voice, but the way she called him Master was what caught everyone off guard. Everyone wondered what the connection between those two were.
"Little Carmilla" Sukuna's honeyed voice echoed in the room, "you're grown up since last I saw you. How is the Arms dealing business treating you? I see you even upgraded in some aspects." he said, as he looked her up and down, his gaze lingering slightly on the metal strapped around her legs. "Have you put them to good use yet?" He asked, his eyes narrow, implying a hidden meaning which eluded everyone else.
"Regretfully yes. Business is good as always." She said, her voice full of regret, which earned a raised eyebrow from Sukuna.
"So who are these three clowns?" Sukuna asked, startling two of the Vs, who just stood in the door frozen since the meeting began, staring at the infamous warlord, while the third, Velvette was on her phone as usual.
"Who's that fossil over there, thinking they can call us Vs clowns?" Velvette asked loudly, not catching the tension in the room. Vox quickly turned to her, trying to warn her, but suddenly, a heavy pressure enveloped the room, startling everybody present.
"Usually I don't entertain insects like you, but we have a lot to discuss, so take this reminder and be quiet." Sukuna's low voice echoed, when suddenly, Velvette's phone was sliced apart, and one of her arms fell to the ground, blood gushing out everywhere, but vanishing before it could stain the room.
"Thank you Zestial, for keeping the room clean. It's good to see that you haven't changed, a gentleman as always." Carmilla said without missing a beat, trying to ignore Velvette's panicked screams and Vox's useless threats.
"As I was about to say, this year's Extermination was brutal, over 16% of Hell's population was lost. Now that the next Extermination date was moved up, we need to prepare, so we can minimize the damage as much as we can."
"Talking about preparation..." Vox chimed in, after finally calming down Velvette somewhat, he threw an angel's severed head on the table, it's golden blood splattering around. "We might have a better chance that we thought. We already have a battle plan, so if you fu..uhh..guys," he started to say, but hesitated when Sukuna opened one of his eyes, " want to join in, you're all welcome to." he offered, which made the other Overlords think, and look around, waiting for someone else to start.
When he finished, everyone's thought was interrupted by a loud slurping noise, coming from Zestial.
"If it be true thee and thy colleagues desire to war, with such meager proof. Thou art far more foolish than I be thought." he said after he put down his cup with a clink. "We know not how this one perished, mayhaps t'was not by a demon's hand at all. And we also know not if there are stronger ones in the fold than this one. If we rush to war without knowing mightn't they purge ALL of Hell for daring an uprising?" he finished, slamming his fist on the table in dissatisfaction at this so called Overlord's ignorance.
At this point Velvette finally gathered herself from the injury, the her pride and ego couldn't let her be quiet. She went on a rant, calling all the other Overlords cowards, which most just laughed off. She got into a pretty wild argument with Carmilla, after which Carmilla shut down the meeting.
However, unbeknownst to the Vs, another smaller meeting took place right after everyone left. Carmilla, Zestial and Sukuna gathered in a smaller office, but there was one other attendant. A small egg creature, unnoticed by two of them, and the third ignored it.
"Carmilla, what troubles thou?" Zestial asked in his smooth deep voice. "Losing thy composure is unlike thee. Especially to a fool like the Vs." he was troubled by her behavior.
"It's nothing, Zestial. But thanks for the concern." Carmilla was genuinely thankful to the old Overlord.
"The felled angel..." Zestial kept pushing, while Sukuna just silently listened to his friends talk. "'twas by thy hand, was it not?" he was certain that was the case, but couldn't understand why she wouldn't own the deed.
"Mom, maybe he should know..." Clara, Carmilla's daughter tried to get her mother to open up.
"Nobody should know." Carmilla said with finality, sitting down behind her desk, clearly not willing to talk further.
"You're not the only one, you know.." Sukuna commented, surprising everyone in the room.
"You mean...?" Carmilla couldn't believe it. She was consumed by this knowledge since the last Extermination, yet here was Sukuna, who killed angels like her, acting like it was nothing important.
"Yes. Not that it's a contest, but not just one either. They entered my domain. I wasn't willing to let them go. I kept one alive however. She provided me with some interesting information." Sukuna said, surprising the other two even further.
"If you're not willing to share what you learned, don't bother to mention it." Zestial said, knowing Sukuna wouldn't share information of this importance on his own.
"I can't share everything. It's not time yet. But there are a couple things I can." Sukuna's voice trailed off. "First, did you know that the rest of heaven doesn't know about the Extermination? We could cause quite the uprising on their own turf with that." he just smiled, finding the whole situation funny.
"That is interesting, but we can't really contact anyone in heaven outside of the exorcists." Carmilla thought, trying to figure out how they can use this information to their advantage.
"I've been working on something for quite a while now." Sukuna said, before she could come up with anything. "That bastard Alastor almost screwed the whole plan up, but it turned out better then I thought. If everything goes well, Charlie will be invited to Heaven for a 'presentation'." he revealed. This news shocked both other Overlords to quite a comical degree.
"It shouldn't be her that goes. We need someone more capable. Someone more cunning." Carmilla said instantly. "Charlie is too naive. She will not use this opportunity to the fullest. She is too young." she pointed out.
"Be that as it may." Zestial started, "They won't invite anyone just like that. She will be the only one that can enter." he said, thinking deeply.
"I will be going along with her." Sukuna said grinning. "I imagine she will want Vaggie to go with her, but she will surely be relieved that I can take her place." he said, the knowing smirk never leaving his face.
"Why would she be relieved? I mean...not that any demon would be happy to go to Heaven, but why..." Carmilla started thinking, and then quickly realized.
"I did not yet have the pleasure to meet thing 'Vaggie' you speak of, care to enlighten me?" Zestial asked, quite confused.
"Oh right.." Sukuna realizing, continued "Well my friend you see, Vaggie is..." and he continued to tell the other two Overlords the tale of Vaggie, the Exorcist.
