Third Person POV
Japan.
...
...
"We are ready to fight the giant on the west side of the city, he is being lured here! Be ready, even you, Rosário and Milicia!!!", said Dracula, staring at the giant passing through some buildings at that moment, coming toward them, while he watched it from atop a building.
On the street below that building, there was a crowd of vampires settling into the cracked and destroyed street, surrounded by several collapsed buildings.
Rosário was a little nervous. She had not yet faced any giant like her father and sister; that would be her first time, since she had been more occupied helping the local population get out of the rubble and take them to a safe place.
Her father had already fought, and even so it had not been easy, as much as he had been more successful than anyone else, at least before Severus appeared.
It was at that moment that a car appeared at high speed, swerving around parked vehicles and some that the giant had destroyed with his feet. The car advancing toward the vampires was an army jeep, and a man stood up from the back seats, opening his arms in a signaling gesture, shouting in Japanese: "He's coming! He's coming this way!", he said, while the sound of heavy footsteps began to echo.
There was no doubt about it when the giant finally entered the street, coming from one of the side roads, with the buildings partially concealing him.
His gaze turned toward the small crowd gathered there in that direction, and his eyes immediately fixed on them like prey. He began to advance, one step at a time.
"Get ready, everyone!", shouted Dracula, while the army jeep passed by them and left the area, its job being only to lure him toward the vampires.
Dracula leapt from the building, landing near his daughters, positioning himself at the front of the vampires.
"Let's fight and take one of them down. We can't let that human leave us so far behind", said Dracula.
"But he's going to marry your daughter...", murmured someone among the vampires there, wondering why Dracula was being so competitive with someone who would become part of his family.
Rosário blushed upon hearing that, but soon focused again. Her sister snorted beside her, seeing her younger sister as a lovestruck maiden; she clearly didn't like her fiancé, but that didn't matter now.
When the giant approached, Dracula immediately raised his hand.
"Attack!", he shouted.
He dashed forward at superhuman speed, and quickly the other vampires, along with his two daughters, advanced as well.
From the crowd, several vampires leapt onto the giant. Seeing this, the creature raised its hand and tried to swat them away like flies. Dracula, his two daughters, and a group of vampires dodged with agility, but some were not so lucky, dying instantly and turning into pulp of blood, exploding solely from the force and speed of the creature's strike.
Dracula ran along the giant's arm, trying to strike its eye. The giant took a step back and tried to hit him with another blow as he easily climbed its fifty-meter body, narrowly missing.
Dracula finally reached the head, his enormous and sinister body with enormous claws and a gaze full of ferocity that would frighten 99% of the world's population, but the giant turned its face and closed its eyes upon seeing what the humanoid creature intended to do.
The strike hit the side of the eye and the eyelid, failing to pierce them, leaving only a redness, without any real injury, as if Dracula were scraping his claws directly against goblin steel.
Frustrated, Dracula looked at the monster, which simply shook its head and hurled him aside, causing him to collide violently with a building.
"Father!", Rosário shouted, still running along the ground between the creature's legs.
She also saw her sister still clinging to the giant's arm, advancing toward the creature's head, trying to do what her father could not, after it had opened its eye again. But she was caught when the other hand swept over her body and grabbed her. The giant simply slammed her against the ground, making it explode on impact.
Rosário was stunned, and the giant began to strike and kick the other vampires, while she dodged the stomps, turning into a blur of red light.
"You bastard...", Rosário murmured, seeing that her sister was in danger in that area, while her father had not yet recovered.
Without hesitation, Rosário advanced from behind, climbing the giant's back, reaching its fifty meters in height before launching herself forward and pointing her wand at it. The first thing she wanted to do was free her sister, trapped on the ground.
She had learned a trick from her fiancé some time ago. When he recounted how he faced a giant monster without having enough strength to defeat it, Severus told his experience with the giant worm, when he was punished by the system for the first time. He blinded it several times with Lumos light, creating a variable that could be used directly against the eyes.
Rosário knew that nothing was faster than light. Then, she cast her spell. "Lumus Maximus!"
In the next moment, a flash illuminated that entire part of the city, turning the night into a blazing glare, striking directly into the giant's gaze like a devastating flash, and also hitting other unsuspecting ones who happened to look in that direction at that exact moment. The creature howled, stomping the ground with force before bringing its hand to its face, completely stunned by the sudden blindness. It took a few steps back, crashing into buildings.
That was enough.
Rosário advanced again toward the ground, once more turning into a beam of red light, and reached the crater where her sister was. She pulled her out, badly injured and bleeding, and retreated to a great distance.
The giant was still howling, retreating clumsily, trying to recover its vision, while striking the surrounding buildings.
Her father appeared at that moment and joined Rosário, who was observing her sister's condition.
"Damn it... Bring potions!", Rosário murmured worriedly, staring at Milicia, completely injured.
Her sister might be the oldest and physically strongest, but her condition could take many months to recover from. Despite being a pure vampire, unlike Rosário, the redhead still loved her. Milicia had always taken care of young Rosário, teaching her many things since childhood.
Rosário would never leave her in that hole where she had been buried by that monster.
"She will recover", her father said, analyzing the condition of his eldest daughter.
"Father, can we fight this thing? The attack failed much faster than the last time you tried...", Rosário murmured.
"The giant adapted to our last attempt at attacking it. It is no longer as slow as before when facing us for the second time", her father said, watching the creature slowly recover. "But I admit: your attack on the eyes, with a simple long-range spell, was smart."
"It was Sev who taught me...", she murmured.
He simply nodded in recognition. "Well, you mages have some advantages", he said in the next moment.
Brooms began to advance down the street at that moment. A squad of wizards approached, while helicopters still remained in the area, using spotlights to illuminate the place.
The wizards quickly cast spells at the giant, taking advantage of the fact that it was still stunned. Even curses were used, but they struck the creature's skin without causing any effect. Avada Kedavra also had no effect.
One of the brooms was hit by the giant, and a Japanese wizard lost his balance, screaming before falling to the ground near the creature's feet. He tried to get up, dazed and frightened, while the giant stared at him, still blinking its eyes, before advancing toward him.
There were no other spellcasters nearby to help him, since the other wizards on the remaining brooms were still circling several hundred meters away for a second attack.
Rosário acted on instinct. She raised her wand and cast a spell at the giant's feet. A red beam shot forward rapidly, striking the creature's leg, which finally reacted, letting out a roar and taking a few steps back, its calf wounded.
Rosário paused for a moment and saw her father lift his gaze, staring at her in confusion.
The giant had not been seriously injured, but it seemed surprised. It looked at its own leg and then at the vampires in the distance — at least those who had survived — while Milicia was still being treated, with her husband at her side.
"How...?" Dracula murmured.
"I don't know...", Rosário murmured.
She had seen countless spells cast against giants, and none had worked. That had been a powerful spell, capable of killing an ordinary creature. Even without causing great damage, the giant was clearly surprised at being injured.
"You mentioned that Severus is validating potions made with crystals, right? Crystals that he usually finds in those picture portals, isn't that it?" her father asked. "You said Severus warned that they were used to strengthen the body. And what if that also gives you the ability to injure these otherworldly creatures..."
Dracula's millennia-old mind began to debate the possibility of what was happening. He was clearly surprised when Rosário explained that she had been taking certain potions that Severus had prepared for her during the last few days in Japan, detailing that they were made with mana crystals obtained in dungeons to strengthen the body.
"Could that be it?" Rosário murmured, while everyone around looked at her.
"I don't know what's happening, but it seems I'm the only one who can injure him," Rosário said, not wanting to risk anyone else while she could handle it herself.
The giant completely ignored the mage fallen on the ground nearby — who had been spared thanks to her interference — and turned its attention to Rosário, advancing directly toward the one who had injured it.
Rosário bent her legs and rushed to meet the giant, while her body transformed into red light. It was something similar to what Severus did after teaching her a technique akin to his lightning spell — which even allowed flying through the sky and running across the battlefield.
She was not as fast as Severus, but it drastically increased her combat dexterity, to the point of completely replacing teleportation with that movement.
Her first attack was launched against the giant's chest, which was struck with force before it let out a groan of pain. The Bombarda Máxima in that area had burned its skin, and it took a few steps back, snarling.
Rosário began advancing while flying as red light. She passed beneath the giant's legs before it could notice, striking its tendon with precision, which was cut, producing a thin line of blood — but it was not enough.
Then, she began launching several attacks at the same time. When the giant turned around, frustrated, Rosário used teleportation and appeared behind it, continuing to attack, digging deeper and deeper into the tendon, injuring it continuously while the giant groaned in pain.
Rosário realized that it was adapting. Before she could react, she teleported using Apparition, appearing in front of its face and casting another light spell, blinding it for the second time.
Next, she returned to its back and continued attacking. "Sectumsempra!" She finally cast Severus's spell, and at last, the tendon was completely severed, causing the giant to fall to its knees in the middle of the street.
Reporters were in a helicopter, filming the entire night battle. Alexandre exclaimed, asking for it to be broadcast live on TV, while everyone watched Rosário bring down a giant.
"She did it! She brought it down!" Dracula murmured from a distance as well, impressed.
Another roar echoed in the distance. The second giant in the city suddenly turned in their direction and began to advance.
"This is bad! Another giant is coming!", said one of the reporters, immediately frightened.
Meanwhile, the first giant, with its leg severed, tried to get up but failed miserably. Rosário could see the skin still holding part of the injured leg.
"We have to bring it down now!", she shouted, seeing the other wizards moving toward her.
"The other giant is coming, Rosário! I know you handled this one, but we can't leave it here if the other gets close!", her father exclaimed, asking her to give up.
Suddenly, they saw the second giant begin to climb one of the buildings, reaching the top and starting to leap from one to another, avoiding the streets. It advanced faster and faster toward the location where Rosário was.
Rosário frowned.
Then, as the giant drew closer, jumping between buildings with its massive body, something passed at high speed by its leg. In an instant, it was ripped off, making it fly away and causing the creature to lose its balance, slam its belly against a building, and begin to slide down.
Rosário was about to retreat when she heard the crash. The giant's leg fell near them, in the middle of the street — it had been cut with a clean and precise strike.
'Could it be...?', Rosário immediately thought of Severus.
Without wasting time, Rosário advanced, her body glowing with red light, climbing the buildings and heading toward where the giant had fallen.
But when she arrived there, she did not see Severus. Still, she could not help but be surprised when she noticed the silhouette of a knight atop the last building, moments before the giant had jumped and lost its leg.
The wind swayed the red details behind the helmet, which looked like hair, while the cape also fluttered in the wind. He stared at the fallen giant, holding a sword that crackled with lightning.
"Igris...", Rosário murmured, surprised to see Severus's royal knight there alone, since Igris never separated from Severus.
