Asmodeus caught her wrist before those wandering fingers could slip any lower.
Normally, the shameless expression on Mei's face might have tempted him to play along, especially when Nerim's body pressed so naturally against his own. However, Serena's footsteps still echoed somewhere below the ramparts, and the faint wetness he'd felt against his chest only minutes ago remained much harder to ignore.
"Not tonight."
Mei's smile slowly faded.
"Hm?"
"I said not tonight. Be good and wait for me in your room."
She leaned backwards without pulling away from his grip, studying him through Nerim's green eyes as though something far more interesting than rejection had just occurred.
"How peculiar..."
"What is?"
"You."
Asmodeus sighed and released her wrist. "You're going to have to be more specific."
