As the light swept across, the imperial army's troops killed by the demons resurrected one after another. Even those torn to pieces got reorganized, instantly becoming alive again.
"Resurrection magic?! Those winged creatures have even mastered this?!" The Demons' eyes widened in disbelief. They paid such a huge price to kill those enemies, only for them to return to life in full bloom.
"Retreat!!" An Intermediate God Tier Demon issued the retreat order. In his opinion, they must unite all demons in the second layer to destroy this alien army with an overwhelmingly large force.
A God Tier Shadow Demon distorted space, trying to teleport many Demons to safety.
"Who gave you the permission to run?" Lysandra struck with her palm, killing the Shadow Demon, sealing his soul and interrupting his spell.
"You don't follow the rules! How can a High God attack us Intermediate Gods?!"
"What rules?" Lysandra squinted with golden eyes, "My Lord's words are the rules! Since you're already here, don't think about leaving! Your fate is to be slaughtered by the Imperial Army."
The Demonic Gods burst with anger and their faces turned green. They clearly couldn't beat this army that could resurrect and these High God Tier creatures won't even let them run!
"Don't be arrogant! When the Lords in the third layer break through this seal, it'll be your death! The Twelve Demon Monarchs will lead the Burning Legion to destroy your entire race, including your Lord!"
Lysandra gave it a sideways glance, "Kill this filthy one first!"
A green light flashed, and a figure appeared, splitting the Demon's body in two. Before he could reorganize, his vitality was cut off and his soul was also sealed. It was Sylvana, the Dryad spirit of the Elven Mother Tree.
Suddenly, a dazzling golden light descended on her. It was the light of ascension, which would further increase her strength. After beheading four Intermediate God Tier Demons in total across multiple battles, she had finally achieved a breakthrough. After promotion, Sylvana would become Haru's twenty-third High God Tier subordinate.

Away from the battlefield, Haru sighed, "It wasn't easy. Sylvana has finally ascended further!"
She had been bound to his empire as a barracks. In the binding process, she had mutated—no longer limited by growth potential, but she also couldn't use bloodline evolution blueprints, making her promotion speed slower than Angels who used blueprints to achieve super-evolution which increased strength as well. Still, she'd managed to reach High God Tier, which was more important!
"Unfortunately, even if she has ascended, she would only be an early-stage High Goddess—too far from the Supreme God Tier. If she were a peak High Goddess, she would likely become a Supreme Goddess during this tournament!"
Haru shook his head. He could only cultivate her through war with the Light Empire.

This was the Blood Soul Escape technique! But unfortunately for him, Eveline, the Sixteen-Winged Fallen Angel, grabbed and sealed the fleeing soul.
"Why are you going through the trouble of sealing my soul? Just kill me. His Majesty, the Demon Emperor will avenge me!"
Eveline squinted, "You'll witness the Lord leading the Angel Army to conquer the Abyss!"
The Gorefiend realized the truth that they would purify its demonic soul and replace its belief. It wanted to self-destruct but under Eveline's control, it couldn't even do that. It slumped down, lifeless. Wanting to die but being unable to do that was even more tragic than simply dying.
