Strax continued examining the Gauntlet of Darkness as he walked through the corridors of the palace of Atlantis. The golden inscriptions still glowed faintly across the metal, matching the markings that had appeared on his arm.
The pain had diminished, but it hadn't disappeared completely. Whenever he moved his fingers, he felt an unpleasant pressure traveling through his forearm, as though something were compressing his muscles.
It was beginning to irritate him.
Nerissa walked beside him, accompanied by the elders who had witnessed the artifact's transformation. None of them seemed particularly interested in asking questions.
Strax didn't blame them.
After all, he didn't know what to answer either.
"Well, I think I've done enough for today," Strax remarked, stopping in front of one of the corridor's enormous windows.
Nerissa turned her head.
"Are you planning to leave?" the officer asked, examining the gauntlet.
