After ruri swallow the medicine I was pouring to her mouth.
Senku proceed to use the cup as a stethoscope to see her condition.
"How's her condition doc?"
I said as a joke but we both ignored that and continued with the check up.
"It sounds like a bleating goat"
"A bleating goat huh"
I then follows senku's gaze to a rat lying their motionless. Seeing that rat makes us sure that something was really wrong that also affected ruri of her sickness.
Back in the lab, senku dissected the rat, kohaku, mr gen and I were at the sidelines.
Are we gonna eat it? Kohaku asked and I replied with a no.
"No he's not, although it's said to be source of protein, but what senku is doing is called autopsy where we find out what caused a death of an animal or person."
"I see"
"That's miss y/n for you"
Mr gen compliment and I blush, not used at the compliments much.
"Much appreciated me gen, anyways senku what's the results?"
"Our problem right now is strain of bacteria and if pulmonary tuberculosis is our enemy, it'll be a problem.
He said as he step out and took of his white autopsy clothes and I followed behind him.
"In our current state we have nothing against it.
"Exactly"
Senku agreed my statement. The others shocked faces at the news.
Suddenly sui came rolling and panicked.
"Come quick! its sister ruri!"
We all rushed where ruri is and I got passed through. Seeing her cough reminds me of myself when I had a severe sickness like her.
It was the worse. Seeing her state it doesn't look like tuberculosis....its more like—
"What did you do?!"
Kohaku's father suddenly pounced on senku and grabbed by the neck.
I immediately shouted.
"Stop, it's not worse than you think!"
I explained and senku continued my explanation.
"Ruri's disease is deadly but curable using sulfa drugs, she has pneumonia"
All were stunned and sighed in relief including me.
"Thanks to kohaku's water and kept of perfect temperature, it slow down the spreading, so that helped to. Leave it to us now.
I tell as I let ruri's head lay on my lap.
"You ok?"
Ruri nodded as she catch her breath. I then assured her, that she will be alright.
"Everything will be alright, science team is here"
Science won against this, we won.

Few days later, after constant medicine taking and taking care of her.
Ruri finally was able to walk freely and run at her free will without feeling tired.
I smiled and looked beside senku who was standing beside me.
"Good job"
"You too"
Suddenly the chief grabbed both of our hands and announced.
"As of today, these two are the new chief of the ishigami L/n village!"
Both our eyes were stunned, looking at each other then at ruri who called out to us.
"You're senku ishigami and y/n L/n right?"
We both again look at each other and smiled. I then spoke
"Thanks to you, we've put the pieces together, nice to meet you"
