Chapter 1 - 001: Death of Regressor, Transmigrator takes the Wheel

Novel: I attained the Dao through Music, accompanied by Twin Sugar Mommies?

Chapter: 001 (Death of Regressor, Transmigrator takes the Wheel)

In a certain white-walled cave, a young-looking man sat in a cross-legged position. His magnificent dark green robes, stitched with opulent silver embroidery, were now heavily stained with the dark, metallic blood he spat out in rhythmic, agonizing pulses.

His brows were knitted together, eyelids pressed together, and his veins bulged underneath his skin that was matted in sweat and turning gray.

Honestly, he looked like a living corpse.

Jaws clenched, he groaned, his voice a broken whisper: "After getting a second chance, I, the legendary Dongfang Jing, am still going to die again? Can I really not go against the unyielding Great Dao's predestined Fate? How absurd!" Murky golden blood poured out of his eyes like heavy, viscous tears as his eyelids parted abruptly, revealing a pair of purple eyes that resembled crystals but were burning with unyielding resentment and unwillingness. He looked up, as though he could see the sky through the roof of the cave. "How unfair!"

A moment later, his heart stopped beating and the tremors in the ambient Immortal Qi around him ceased—he was dead, again.

Meanwhile, elsewhere…

A middle-aged-looking man with blood-colored hair that had gray and white strands mixed in was entangled in a "discussion of matters of the flesh" with three young beauties on a large bed when he suddenly froze and trembled all over.

Shortly, he jumped and yelled, "No! Not Jing…! It can't be!" just before his naked body dissipated like dust in the wind.

The three relief stations who had just been preparing to receive some of his 'love' were curled up into fetal balls, a profound, chilling fear settling in their eyes.

The raw aura that had leaked from the Clan Leader, even if only for a fleeting, desperate moment, would have reduced them to nothingness had it lasted any longer.

It wasn't only them. The entirety of the Emptiness Butterfly Clan had felt it and were alarmed.

When Dongfang Qincang's form reappeared, it was no longer bare but instantly covered in majestic green robes identical to those the regressor had worn.

He flew down to one of the caves in the white-colored Emptiness Butterfly Mountain and upon reaching its entrance waved his hand to dispel the invisible barrier.

"Jing'er!" he called out, his voice dripping with raw regret and desperation.

The curving stone paths inside the cave felt endless for the Patriarch, those few seconds a grueling eternity.

The curving paths led to a wide clearing with an oval pool at the center. Beside this pool lay the unmoving form of his third and favorite child.

"Son!" his form took to the air as he glided over the pool to the other side.

He crouched down and started assessing the situation in a trembling tone. "Blood Qi reversed and one each of the three souls and seven spirits has dispersed… cultivation deviation!"

Frantic, he thought of several solutions in record time. "Profound Ice-Jade Bed to preserve the body. Five Elements Fiend Fierce Beasts' Cores to preserve the remaining Spirits and Souls. Emptiness Butterfly Ancestral Token to cordon off the mountain and seal the news. I also have thought of what to trade that obnoxious Tantai Jin for 'that artifact set' that can locate and call back the dispersed Spirit and Soul…"

Just then—In the airspace above the Emptiness Butterfly Clan, underneath the three evening moons, several figures materialized one after the other.

Some figures looked as old as mummies, and others deceptively young as teenagers. Some were male, and others female. Most wore the signature dark green robes of the clan, while others did not.

However, they all passively exuded ancient, crushing auras that could flatten mountains and overturn seas.

"Protector Feng Hua, what's the situation?" one of them, a white-skirted man with a bare, chiseled upper body, probed upon arrival. "Have the Buried Cicada Clan finally lost all patience and made a move?"

Feng Hua, clad in the Emptiness Butterfly Clan's robes, her brown hair packed into a ponytail, and a burn mark on the left side of her neck, responded with her hands clasped behind her back and her light brown gaze locked onto a certain white mountain.

"I already contacted the spies I planted amongst them. Their attempt to resurrect their ancestors have yet to yield fruit."

Dugu Baisheng's brows furrowed, the muscles on his shoulders twitching visibly. "So, it's not them."

"In that case, what could have caused the Patriarch, a Perfect-stage Zenith Heaven, to lose his composure like that?" wondered Dongfang Churan, a green-robed old lady with both hands resting on her walking stick.

"Perhaps, someone sullied one of his 'relief stations' again?" guessed Han Ye, the one amongst them who looked no older than ten years of age, his bald head cocked to the side.

"No one is that tired of living." Dugu Baisheng shook his head. "Of the many roads to the netherworld, who would choose that?"

As he spoke, the space behind him twisted and another two figures joined them. Both were beautiful women, clad in the dark green robes of the clan, posturing with pride, superiority, and elegance.

Upon sensing their presence, everyone bowed slightly with cup fists. "Second Lady, Fourth Lady."

"Where is His Lordship?" Dongfang Xueli, the fourth of the Clan Leader's wives, had a prominent forehead and always wore a cream-colored coral on her right ankle.

"Your Grace, the Patriarch…" Han Ye started to respond but his lips froze as his Immortal Sense picked up on the Patriarch's presence exiting the white mountain.

In a moment, the Emptiness Butterfly Patriarch flew over to them, his expression cold and unreadable.

"Patriarch." Everyone's greetings chorused.

"Husband, what…" Dongfang Anning started to ask but was cut short as he flashed her a cold glance.

After silencing his second wife, he turned his attention to another person. "Feng Hua, has your daughter returned from her training at Yin Sword Valley?"

Although confused as to why he would suddenly ask about her daughter, and what she had to do with his recent outburst, the Protector's response was curt. "No, my Lord. There are still three years left in the agreement."

"That's good." The Clan Leader nodded. "I have some instructions for her to pass on to the Valley Lord, Tantai Jin." He waved his hand and a stream of blue characters appeared in the air before condensing into a palm-sized scroll. "Here."

Feng Hua received it as it floated over to her and immediately performed the technique to send its contents over to her daughter via a Communication Talisman. Although she was curious, she didn't dare to peruse, at least not in front of the Patriarch. She could always ask her daughter for the details later.

Seeing that the message had been sent, Dongfang Qincang waved his hand and a dark green object appeared in his hand. He lifted it to show them as he spoke. "From this day forth, until further notice, no one is allowed to approach the Emptiness Butterfly Mountain. Even those with the required merits or authority shall be barred entry. Likewise, those who are currently in there are not allowed to leave. Anyone who violates this law will be subjected to three-generational extermination!"

This action caused those present to show expressions of shock on their faces. They almost looked like wooden chickens.

The Ancestral Token of any clan pretty much signified the same thing—the clan's final, ultimate authority.

Whoever held this item could issue a command to all members of the clan and they must obey, however there was naturally a cost and limitation.

The limitations were simple and straightforward; one could not order the clan to do anything that will lead to its harm or extermination, only one order can be active at a time, and a new order can only be issued every hundred thousand years.

As for the cost, the details were not public knowledge, but those present were all high-ranking members of the clan and hence had access to reliable rumors. They knew that at the very least, the order issuer's cultivation and lifespan will be affected.

They couldn't help but glance at the white-colored mountain again, wondering what exactly had happened there to push the Clan Leader to the edge.

Dongfang Qincang, having handed out the instructions, did not linger any further, his figure dissipating into dust as he headed for the treasury to gather the artifacts and materials needed to preserve his son's corpse, souls, and spirits.

Back in the cave.

Dongfang Jing's corpse started to move. First, his fingers twitched, then his heart started to beat, slowly but truly.

Four minutes after Dongfang Qincang's departure, the eyes fluttered open, unfocused.

"…Hmm?" the corpse wiped his eyes and sat up. Once his vision was no longer blurry, his facial expression morphed into one of utter confusion and unfamiliarity. "What is going on? Where am I?"

'Pretty sure I only had a celebratory glass last night. Didn't want to show up reeking on my first day at work.' He frowned and wondered. 'And if this is a dream, what is with the outfit choice? Have I been thinking too much about mother lately? Eh, I guess I have. Wish she was still around to see me walk out of the house in a suit after saying "I'm off to work!".'

As though responding to his questions, a hammer fell onto his head. Well, at least it felt like it.

He couldn't help but grasp his head and shout like someone being tortured in hell. The screaming lasted for a full six minutes before he passed out, and even then his new body convulsed violently on the cold stone floor.

Gu Jing, a recently graduated and gainfully employed Data Engineer, started seeing and experiencing some very painful events. Events that should be relegated to the world of fiction.

A Universe where people can draw ambient Qi into themselves and assimilate it, live for millions and billions of years, transverse outer space with nothing but their physical bodies, and much more—an Immortal Universe.

'No, I… I seem to have transmigrated to a Universe where one can even surpass Immortality and attain Godhood?'

'And not as a random person but a God who regressed to his days as an Immortal after being betrayed by his Dao Companion?'

'And what's this… Wait, what the heck? I've got a ticking time bomb in my body?!'

'I just transmigrated but my consciousness might be overwritten before I get to see the sunlight!'
