Chapter 4589: Primordial Vortex
Once more, Lin Moyu released the Ferry and pulled over the Ancient Wilderness Gold.
When the Ferry and Ancient Wilderness Gold touched, the previously tough metal turned liquid, flowing into the vessel.
The Ferry shone brighter its old wounds were slowly healing.
At the current pace, it would take a day to fully recover.
"At last, it can be fixed. A long standing wish fulfilled."
Lin Moyu recalled that he'd wanted to repair the Ferry since obtaining it and was finally succeeding.
Looking into the distance, he saw creatures approaching.
Apparently, the light from the Ferry had drawn their attention; they did not appear friendly.
The depths of Ancient Wilderness resembled a vast hunting ground; the deeper one went, the more so.
Except for a few special beings, most life forms could conceal themselves by instinct.
Anyone who shows up risks getting targeted by others.
Right now, the Ferry radiated a powerful aura in all directions, spreading fearsomely far and attracting many watchers.
Just like the life form forged from Ancient Wilderness Gold, which didn't mind being noticed due to its toughness few could do anything to it.
The Ferry was similar: once repaired, it'd also possess formidable defenses.
Lin Moyu sensed its growing resilience, "Not bad. It won't be as unbeatable as in chaos, but it'll be much safer."
Ancient Wilderness Gold didn't depend on the Dao of chaos its inherent durability was enough to keep the Ferry basically secure.
As for those curious creatures, Lin Moyu figured he could collect a new batch.
It was a good tactic; he'd considered using it to lure damaged beings, increasing efficiency.
But Primal Chaos Stone's advice made him abandon that plan.
In Ancient Wilderness's core, there are eerie, fearsome beings that he simply can't contend with.
If he brought them here, he'd be in deep trouble.
After half a day, several fearless beings arrived greeted by a sea of flames.
Swallowed by the Flame of World Destruction, their intelligence vanished; all that remained were assorted materials.
Lin Moyu couldn't help wondering, "How many primordial world treasures ended up here? There seem to be so many."
Primal Chaos Stone replied, "The world wall gave plenty of them. Back when the world was new and small, materials entering here weren't rare."
"In fact, every world is like this. These beings share a name: Source Spirits."
"They don't play any role in the world now, but used to be symbols of the world's early development."
"But there's one exception..."
"What exception?" Lin Moyu asked curiously, watching more life forms draw near.
The Flame of World Destruction was about to feast again
Suddenly, the life forms scattered, fleeing at incredible speed.
"What happened?" Lin Moyu wondered, puzzled by their sudden retreat.
Primal Chaos Stone shouted, "Quick, run! Something big is coming."
Lin Moyu trusted him and hurried away in the Ferry.
Moments later, Lin Moyu sensed a terrifying presence arrive where he'd been.
Its aura was so powerful, Lin Moyu felt as if facing a Supreme maybe even stronger than most Supremes.
Even Supremes encountering such a creature would probably have to run.
"What is that?" Lin Moyu asked.
Primal Chaos Stone explained, "That's the exception. At the dawn of the world, some creatures called Source Spirits were incomplete. But besides Source Spirits, another rare entity appears.
Few primordial treasures are ejected from the world's core into this world, and for various reasons, they travel slowly, ultimately reaching the birthplace of the world eons later."
"As they cross the chaos, the world's laws nurture them by the time they arrive, they've mostly matured.
When they enter the birthplace, they finish growing but are stamped by the world's birthplace, unable to leave.
They're born much stronger than ordinary Source Spirits, with unique powers and the ability to absorb primordial qi to cultivate.
These are called Source Kings."
"Every world has only a few Source Kings sometimes none, sometimes just a handful, but all of them are immensely strong."
"Beyond the birthplace, Supremes rule; inside, Source Kings are the true rulers.
Even your so called Calamity Supreme would behave, no matter how advanced he was."
"If you haven't become a top Supreme, you just can't compare to Source Kings in the birthplace."
Lin Moyu now understood Source Kings were invincible in the deepest part of Ancient Wilderness.
Even the current Calamity Supreme, or the Dao, could at best fight to a draw with a Source King sometimes they couldn't even match it.
Only by truly becoming a Supreme could you dominate Source Kings and refine the whole world.
No wonder the ordinary Source Spirits had scattered fortunately, Lin Moyu had run quickly, or he'd be in serious trouble.
Could Source Kings destroy the Ferry? Lin Moyu believed they could, if they wanted to it was just a question of difficulty.
"Maybe I can use a Source King for my own benefit..."
An audacious idea took shape; it was risky, but possibly feasible.
The problem: Source Kings have intelligence they don't always act as one wishes. If you anger them, they might neither kill you nor let you go, which would be a disaster.
For now, Lin Moyu set the idea aside unless he found no better option, he wouldn't risk it.
He shared his thoughts with Primal Chaos Stone, who instantly refused: even if Lin Moyu were asking for death, there were better ways.
If he must try it, he should consult the Dao or the hidden Calamity Supreme those options were safer than trusting a Source King.
One could be reasoned with; the other was utterly unreasonable.
Lin Moyu sighed, "It'd be best if there was a completely mindless Source King devoted only to slaughter."
He knew he was being fanciful, but Primal Chaos Stone surprisingly grew silent, then whispered, "Maybe there's a place to fulfill your wish."
"What place?" Lin Moyu asked.
Primal Chaos Stone responded, "The Primordial Vortex the birthplace of the world and where primordial qi erupts."
"After all the primordial qi erupts, a vortex forms. Beyond the vortex is the life restricted zone.
The vortex contains a trace of that zone's power; entering means instant death."
Lin Moyu worried, "Wouldn't it fling me into the life restricted zone?"
Once inside for good or ill, he would never return, no matter how many new lives he had.
Primal Chaos Stone reassured, "It's dangerous, but if you find a suitable vortex, it's worth a try."
