Chapter 4590: Quick Escape
The Primal Chaos Stone, with some hesitation, nervously told Lin Moyu about this place.
Lin Moyu sensed the Primal Chaos Stone had changed slightly it seemed no different on the surface, but upon closer inspection, both its tone and expression were subtly altered.
These changes had apparently begun after his encounter with the mirror.
Lin Moyu was certain something happened then, even though he couldn't remember any of it.
In his hazy memory, it felt as if he'd glimpsed a past life.
The Primal Chaos Stone spoke, "Master, what are you thinking about? Should we go to that place?"
Lin Moyu replied, "You said it's dangerous, but it's still safer than hunting a Source King. Let's check it out maybe I'll find a suitable Primordial Vortex."
The Primal Chaos Stone said, "Then master should use the Ring of Causality to plant a fruit; it will help a bit."
The Ring of Causality was greatly suppressed, its effect less than one percent of what it was in chaos, but it was better than nothing.
Lin Moyu started planting the fruit, searching for the Primordial Vortex.
His previous attempt sought the center of Ancient Wilderness; the planting succeeded, but the result was less than ideal.
The power of causality only ensured he didn't leave the deepest wilderness, not that he actually reached the center.
Now, with a clearer goal to find the Primordial Vortex he tried again.
The Ring hummed and glowed for a few moments before dimming, with no backlash; Lin Moyu's soul power was depleted and the planting failed.
"Keep going!"
He wasn't surprised last time it took more than ten tries to succeed, and here the suppression was stronger, increasing the failure rate.
Try after try, each failure consumed some soul power.
But soul power was the one thing Lin Moyu wasn't short on; the sapling in his storage continued to absorb energy, replenishing him.
He failed over and over ten times, twenty, thirty attempts.
He didn't lose heart; using the Ring remained the best option even if results weren't ideal, at least it kept him from aimlessly wandering.
Fifty failures in a row would have emptied anyone else's soul power several times, but Lin Moyu was unfazed.
Just getting replenished soul power made the sapling a reliable support.
Finally, on the fifty sixth attempt, the Ring produced backlash.
The backlash wasn't strong; Lin Moyu easily resisted it.
The Ring's suppression here was so intense that backlash wasn't even a fraction of normal.
Backlash meant a successful planting, but a weak backlash meant the fruit wasn't firmly rooted; it might work for now, but how long it would last was unclear.
Suddenly inspired, Lin Moyu sensed a direction, pointed, and said, "That way."
Normally, the Ring planted causal fruits in complete silence, but this time, suppressed as it was, it left traces, and Lin Moyu felt the flow of causality.
That felt natural all things have traces, matching Lin Moyu's understanding of the Dao.
The Ferry set off in the chosen direction
With no concept of space or time, who knows how long they traveled?
During the journey, the Ferry healed itself, glowing faintly; both its defense and speed were greatly improved.
Although still not as fast as the Roc, it was about half as quick which was good enough.
In terms of defense, after fusing a new piece of Ancient Wilderness Gold, the Ferry's resilience far surpassed before.
Even a Supreme would need great effort to harm the Ferry.
As long as Lin Moyu remained aboard, he was very safe.
After a long flight, Lin Moyu finally sensed unusual energy.
He detected primordial qi up ahead; a considerable amount flickered in and out of existence, its quantity constantly shifting.
The Primal Chaos Stone murmured, "At last, the Primordial Vortex."
Lin Moyu closed his eyes and whispered, "I sense danger ahead."
The Primal Chaos Stone responded, "Of course there's danger the Primordial Vortex can kill Supremes too."
Earlier, the Primal Chaos Stone had explained the Primordial Vortex: during the world's formative stage, the world rapidly expanded, everything changing from the very beginning.
Vast primordial qi burst forth like a volcanic eruption, flooding the young world the Primordial Vortex is the volcano's mouth.
Once the world stabilizes, no more primordial qi erupts, and the vortices remain, eternally present until the world collapses.
On the other side of every vortex lies the Life Restricted Zone a passage between world and zone, universally present.
Lin Moyu didn't have a vortex in his storage yet, because his own world was still erupting primordial qi no vortex could exist.
Some vortices spun one way, some the other; some (even inactive) still emitted immense power, making them impossible to approach.
Others, spinning the opposite direction, sucked in any creature who ventured near, dumping them into the Life Restricted Zone to die.
And these conditions can change there's no pattern.
If Lin Moyu were drawn in, he'd be doomed.
However, vortices vary in strength; finding one weak enough for Lin Moyu to handle, even if its rotation reversed, meant he could survive.
Inside a vortex lurks a trace of Life Restricted Zone power, highly destructive, just what Lin Moyu needs.
The challenge: how to tell whether a vortex is suitable.
Misjudge, and you die!
The Ferry kept approaching the Primordial Vortex came into view.
There were many, large and small, scattered through the void, with primordial qi swirling inside, surfacing as the vortex spun.
The number was astonishing
There must be millions of vortices in the void, clustered like stars.
The Primal Chaos Stone said, "These are the most common type. In some worlds, there's only one vortex a giant so dangerous even Supremes wouldn't dare go near."
"Master, be careful ignore the huge ones, they're much too dangerous; aim for tiny vortices, testing them one by one."
It sounded simple, but was much easier said than done.
As the Ferry approached, invisible suction seized it, dragging it toward a vortex.
The Primal Chaos Stone shouted, "Run! Don't let it pull you in!"
