Chapter 4592: It Begins
Tens of thousands of Primordial Vortices kept changing direction, their forces moving in straight lines, either pulling or pushing, endlessly colliding and forming a constantly shifting web.
Lin Moyu calculated the gaps in this web, maneuvering the Ferry through them.
He ignored the direction of the vortex forces and avoided direct contact his safest and best method.
The only problem: once inside, the Ferry could not stop. If he did, he might touch a vortex force, which could trigger chaos and make stabilizing impossible.
As he ventured deeper, he saw smaller vortices among the cluster and frantically ran simulations in his mind to map their force pathways.
He left the job of picking a suitable vortex to the Primal Chaos Stone.
Before, the Primal Chaos Stone would have refused, but now it was much more cooperative and actively helped Lin Moyu observe the vortices.
Vortices within sight were incorporated into the web, and the Ferry's speed slowed further, gliding through at a controlled, safe pace.
Suddenly, the Primal Chaos Stone pointed and said, "That one."
Lin Moyu saw the indicated vortex tiny, with a diameter of barely ten meters, by far the smallest he'd encountered.
The largest vortex he'd seen before was over 100,000 miles across what a difference.
The bigger the vortex, the stronger its force.
A vortex with a diameter of 100,000 miles was dangerous enough that even a Supreme wouldn't dare touch it.
At his current power, entering its force range meant certain death and zero chance of escape.
The small, ten meter vortex ahead had manageable pull and push; Lin Moyu reckoned he could withstand it.
As long as he kept stable inside and touched the Life Restricted Zone's energy, he'd die in an instant.
Guided through the mesh of countless vortices, the Ferry brought Lin Moyu to the one the Primal Chaos Stone had identified.
Stowing the Ferry, Lin Moyu hovered at the vortex's edge, flying slowly along its shifting direction, sensing the nearby power.
The force inside wasn't strong; he extended his hand into the range for a direct feel. The vortex happened to be pulling now, but he could easily resist.
He could even fight against it when the vortex switched from pull to push.
That problem solved, another remained:
When he died and his body was shattered, he'd lose control for a fraction of a second.
Less than a tenth of a second, but for the Primordial Vortex, that was an eternity.
In that brief window, if the vortex reversed, it could throw his remains away, interrupting his rebirth or suck them into the Life Restricted Zone for permanent death.
He needed a solution; otherwise, he couldn't enter.
After some thought, Lin Moyu devised a plan:
He would set a formation inside the vortex.
The formation would copy the vortex and possess both pull and push, syncing exactly with the vortex.
When the vortex pulled, the formation pulled too forces neutralized; vice versa for pushing.
The formation shielded him, drastically reducing the vortex's influence, maybe to nothing.
Another issue:
During a force reversal, the vortex would erupt.
The formation had to handle this explosive change and keep him safe from being thrown or sucked in.
Since the vortex's reversals and eruptions had no pattern, Lin Moyu could tweak the formation as needed though always a moment behind.
Even the tiniest lapse might mean complete annihilation.
He thought of a simpler way:
Making the Disaster Scepter the formation's pivot, and having the Primal Chaos Stone wield the Balance Gem to perfectly stabilize the formation and vortex.
This way, no matter how the vortex changed, the formation would remain in balance.
After mentally rehearsing several times, Lin Moyu was confident.
The Primal Chaos Stone cooperated, gladly serving as the formation's pivot.
Lin Moyu drew runes ordinary chaos runes were weak here, so he adjusted their structure to tap the deepest energies of Ancient Wilderness.
Though the runes' effect would be average, they'd be good enough.
The peculiar formation took shape, and Lin Moyu pushed it into the nearby vortex to test it.
The formation operated normally, syncing swiftly with the vortex.
Lin Moyu sensed the harmony vortex and formation blended as one.
Until the vortex reversed from pull to push.
The formation's reversal lagged, and a powerful force flung it out, brushing another vortex's range.
It was instantly sucked in and torn asunder.
"Just as I expected!"
Lin Moyu watched the process unfold, unsurprised. He kept drawing runes and rearranged a new formation, this time making small adjustments, with the Disaster Scepter as the core, and pushed it into the vortex.
With the Primal Chaos Stone's help, the Balance Gem shone, bringing perfect equilibrium between formation and vortex.
Now, the two were essentially one; without watching closely, it was impossible to distinguish the formation.
The result exceeded expectations. Lin Moyu was now 99% sure he could "die" inside safely.
The Primal Chaos Stone's voice echoed from the formation: "Master, please come in and perish."
Lin Moyu chuckled and flew inside, passing through the formation into the vortex's depths.
He felt the formation's strength envelop him like a giant hand, giving a sense of security.
Vortex power vanished neither push nor pull affected him.
Vortex and formation balanced around him, meeting at his center; inside, he was free to move as though in a garden.
He dove straight in, reaching the end.
Now only a step from the Life Restricted Zone one more and he'd be inside.
Here, a thin mist lingered, the Zone's energy distinctive, lethal to all living things.
It obscured vision, preventing any glimpse into the Life Restricted Zone.
"It begins!"
Lin Moyu murmured and glided into the mist.
