Chapter 4602: Passage to the World's Remnants
The little tree began to open layer upon layer of space; the spatial aspect of the Wilds was denser and more chaotic than that of the primordial chaos.
Multiple spatial layers were often stacked and intertwined like layers of wet pastry; the little tree, in a rather brutish manner, tore through these layers to reach the very bottom.
At the lowest depths of space, there were numerous vortices gateways that connected chaos and the Wilds, but these were one way paths.
You could travel from chaos into the Wilds, but couldn't cross from the Wilds back into chaos.
This passage was created naturally by the world's laws; though if one were powerful enough, they could forcibly reverse the vortices' direction and break through from the Wilds to chaos.
According to Lin Moyu, only the Sovereigns adept at space had such an ability; most Grand Sovereigns did not.
Within these vortices were scattered specks of light scattered without any pattern.
The little tree said: "There's a unique independent space here; these specks of light are the reflections of that space. Internally it's strange, almost disconnected from the Wilds. Master, should we force it open or knock first?"
Lin Moyu replied: "Let's try diplomacy before force."
After all, the one inside was Purple Star Sovereign; Lin Moyu came to retrieve people, and if a peaceful solution was possible, violence would not be needed.
The little tree understood, sending out roots to knock on the independent space.
Three knocks sounded, low and resonant, rippling outwards and shaking the soul and the boundaries of space.
Anyone inside would certainly hear it and be awakened, even from deep meditation.
After waiting and hearing no response, Lin Moyu's expression tightened. "Again!"
This independent space was halfway apart from the Wilds, even the little tree could not sense what was within.
Yet, with the Karmic Ring pointing here, Lin Moyu was certain that the Purple Star Sovereign was inside.
The little tree knocked three more times, louder, yet again, no reply.
Lin Moyu lost patience, sensing something was wrong. "Break it open."
The little tree was already prepared; roots erupted and turned into two giant hands, forcefully grasping the independent space.
Instantly, the scattered specks among the vortices glowed brightly; the blurry, glass like outline of the space became visible.
The little tree grabbed the space, tearing open a rift.
An unfamiliar aura surged out, not belonging to chaos or the Wilds.
The little tree murmured: "Seems like there's another world here."
"Let's go in!"
Lin Moyu waved, his powerful soul sweeping away the aura, then entered the space.
The rift quickly resealed and everything returned to normal.
Inside, the space was sizable, with mountains and rivers, comfortable and serene.
Lin Moyu quickly locked onto his target and shot off.
Within the independent space, the aura of other worlds grew stronger and clearer.
The energies of other worlds mingled with that of chaos and the Wilds, creating a messy blend.
Lin Moyu followed these traces and soon reached his destination.
He saw a formation unique and unlike those of chaos or the Wilds, with unfamiliar runes.
Lin Moyu sensed people within through the formation.
Although special, the formation couldn't stop Lin Moyu; a short observation was enough for him to decipher its workings.
He sketched a few runes, sent them flying into the formation, and it opened automatically, letting him enter as if coming home.
Another expanse waited, larger, and with the chaos/ancient aura diminished other world energies now dominated.
Many living beings left their traces here, some very familiar to Lin Moyu.
"Found them!"
He sensed Ning Yiyi and the others, heart moved they'd finally been located.
Yet, in the next instant, his eyes narrowed; he could feel their presence but they weren't physically here.
The little tree said: "There's a space time tunnel ahead, leading to another world."
Lin Moyu asked Primal Chaos Stone: "Besides the wall between worlds, do other passageways appear within worlds, connecting to remnants of other worlds?"
The Primal Chaos Stone answered: "Sometimes. Worlds in the Life Restricted Zone aren't completely stationary; sometimes they bump into remnants of other worlds and then separate, or sometimes a natural space tunnel forms between them."
Lin Moyu understood Purple Star Sovereign had discovered a space tunnel and built this independent space as a base.
Ning Yiyi and the others were her team sent to explore remnants of other worlds.
This task, in other worlds, was usually the domain of Supremes.
Supremes would send out many such teams to investigate the world's remnants.
But this was extremely dangerous; exploration teams often suffered casualties, sometimes being wiped out completely.
Letting Ning Yiyi and her group take such risks angered Lin Moyu, who clenched his fists and was surrounded by lightning waves of immense power radiated from him.
He sped toward the heart of the formation and quickly saw a space tunnel.
There was no one here; on the tunnel's side a secondary formation was running with all traces left behind.
He sensed Ning Yiyi and the others eight people's auras intact, and by their remaining energies, their cultivation seemed to have surpassed the perfect Chaos Realm.
He also felt other auras.
One belonged to Boyang Sovereign; another, unfamiliar, must have been Purple Star Sovereign.
Still others included Fei Sisi.
"Big sister!"
Lin Moyu sensed Lin Mohan's aura; she, too, was here, and now all of them were on the far side of the space tunnel.
The little tree scanned the tunnel: "Master, nothing dangerous detected for now."
Absence of danger did not mean safety; Lin Moyu didn't hesitate, diving straight into the tunnel.
The passageway was stable a far cry from the temporary one the little tree had built at the world wall.
Lin Moyu judged that some powerful artifact had been used as a foundation to keep it stable.
Primal Chaos Stone whistled: "This Purple Star is clever she used spatial vines to bind two worlds together."
Lin Moyu asked: "Why do that?"
Primal Chaos Stone replied: "Even if two world remnants touch and form a passageway, the tunnel is unstable and soon separates. Purple Star Sovereign used a treasure the spatial vine to anchor the world remnants and deployed many materials to stabilize the link."
Lin Moyu said, "She must have discovered something worth the effort."
No one would go to such trouble for nothing Purple Star Sovereign surely uncovered something important.
However, every world remnant was different one had to go in and see.
