Chapter 4693: There Are Still Living Beings
The sea did not seem deep, just a few hundred meters. The sea floor wasn't dim, but instead glowed with a faint eerie green light.
A kind of green, seaweed like plant covered the seabed, gently waving with the current.
Half of Lord Xunzhi's soul was right above the sea floor, overgrown with seaweed evidence he'd been there for a very long time.
When Lin Moyu saw his soul, his heart quivered. "It ended up like this..."
He noticed it was strange: the seaweed wasn't ordinary. Not only did it cover the surface of Lord Xunzhi's soul, but it also pierced inside.
The reason Xunzhi's soul couldn't return to his own world was because of these seaweeds.
The seaweed grew in dense mats, connected to the seabed and to his soul, completely trapping that half of Xunzhi's soul and forming the Soul Bridge.
This trapped half soul, due to certain circumstances, had a peculiar, half detached relationship with the other half in the main world, putting Xunzhi's soul in a bizarre state.
He lost control over this half of his soul, yet it still existed for instance, he couldn't even make it self destruct, because this half wouldn't comply.
This made Lord Xunzhi despair; he wanted true death, which would be better than this limbo.
Lin Moyu was wary as he studied the seaweed, instinctively feeling it was dangerous one misstep, and he too might be trapped.
The Primal Gem said, "This seaweed releases a peculiar substance that numbs the soul. That half of Xunzhi's soul is paralyzed."
The seaweed had burrowed deep within his soul the two were fused, inseparable.
What the Primal Gem described matched what Lin Moyu saw.
"Can you tell what this seaweed is?" Lin Moyu asked.
If possible, he didn't want Xunzhi to die like this maybe figuring out the seaweed's origin could save him.
The Primal Gem answered, "It's formed from the world's energy. This whole realm used to be a water world, covered by ocean."
"No way," Lin Moyu reacted instinctively, not believing it.
A full realm was vast beyond measure, with countless domains and continents. If it had all been ocean, the scale would be unimaginable.
The Primal Gem replied, "You're mistaken. The higher a world's rank, the smaller it tends to be. Lower worlds are larger, but higher ones, like your Linguistic God Heaven, are smaller but of fundamentally higher nature."
"This is a Seven Wheel world it was smaller even before collapse, and now even more so."
Lin Moyu was astonished.
The Primal Gem clarified, "It's not always true, but generally so. The rare exceptions are just that rare. Those top tier Nine Wheel worlds are sometimes smaller than a domain in the Primordial Chaos Wilderness, which is why it's so hard for true Supremes to emerge there just aren't enough beings."
"So this seaweed is made from world energy, and I can't eradicate it?"
The Primal Gem nodded. "Exactly. The seaweed is just the visible part; inside, it's actually leftover world energy and as it's merged with Xunzhi's soul, the two are essentially one."
"If you refined this seaweed, you'd refine his very soul as well."
In summary, according to the Primal Gem, this half soul was doomed trapped or destroyed was the only fate.
Xunzhi had already begged Lin Moyu to help him be released, so Lin Moyu started thinking about what to do. But now was not the time; his own work wasn't done yet.
With a thought, Lin Moyu sent out a special rune, marking the sea floor as a landmark.
With this mark, he would never get lost and could always find his way back.
"Time to search for the world's core."
That was his objective the only way to absorb or refine a world was to find its core.
Every realm, no matter the level, had a "core"; that was universal.
The Primal Gem had already been searching, and as soon as Lin Moyu asked, it pointed the direction. "It's over there, but something is odd be careful."
After all, this was a Seven Wheel world, and recent events made caution necessary no telling what hidden dangers remained.
Lin Moyu set off toward the core, asking, "What's strange about it?"
The Primal Gem replied, "Even shattered, a Seven Wheel world's remnants are more intact than those of lower worlds. Such complete fragments can actually nurture new life seaweed like this is a sort of special lifeform.
If a truly strong life was born, it could be a threat."
"So you mean there's life near the world core?"
The Primal Gem said, "I'm not certain, but that place is full of primordial energy and life force I'm guessing there do exist living beings."
"I understand," Lin Moyu said.
Now extremely alert, he activated his Undying Eye and sent out a swarm of undead soldiers to scout in every direction.
Since the completion of the spell world, his techniques no longer depended on the local rules he could use any spell anywhere.
Still, the Undying Dao was heavily suppressed here, its power cut in half, and all his undead were less than half as strong as they'd be in Primordial Chaos Wilderness.
But that didn't matter; he wasn't sending them to fight they were just scouts.
The Seven Wheel world wasn't immense half a day's flight brought him close to the world's core.
Along the way, he saw no creatures, but the seawater changed it grew thicker and darker as he got closer to the core.
It was now deep blue, almost black.
A million miles from the core, Lin Moyu stopped short.
The water ahead was thick as a marsh. Through his Undying Eye, he saw a soul flame drifting there, flickering amid the marshlike sea.
"There really is a living being."
He was deciding whether to detour around it when, suddenly, immense force struck from all sides. The water crushed into a cage, then struck him like a cannonball, sending him flying.
