Talking with Zhang Yuan for some time awarded me with some affinity with with him.
"ok then I'll have some rest and thank you" I said and went off to my suite.
Reaching my suite, I couldn't help but reflect on the conversation with Zhang Yuan and poured myself a glass of water and stood by the large window, gazing out at the city lights. My thoughts wandered to Zhang Wei. I passed at least some hours thinking on what to do once obtaining some info on him.
Suddenly sound of my phone buzzing snapped me out of my reverie. It was a message from Zhang Yuan.
"Mr. Lin, I have some updates for you, you free?".
I quickly typed a reply. "Sure, meet me in my room and thank you again". Setting the phone down, I realized how much I depended on the people around me.
After what seemed like 10-15 minutes Zhang Yuan arrived in my room. After making ourselves comfortable on the couch. "What do you have for me?" I asked, eager to hear his updates.
Zhang Yuan leaned forward, his expression serious. "I did some digging on Zhang Wei, and there are some interesting findings. It seems he's been earning more than his salary from Hunan Taihua Advertisement Ltd he works in."
"The source of money can't be identified clearly yet but I guarantee that he's involved in some shady deals lately. Nothing concrete yet, but enough to raise suspicions."
I nodded, processing the information. "Good work, you don't need to investigate further" I said and paused.
The suddenly looked up into his eyes grinning I said "Just get me a laptop immediately I'll get more information by myself."
Confused by my statement he paused for a minute then just nodded and immediately took out his phone to call someone from the staff to bring a laptop from his office.
We spent the next few minutes in silence until the staff came and delivered us a laptop.
Curiosity getting better of him Zhang Yuan just asked "What are you gonna do with this?" pointing at the laptop.
"Just wait and watch my skills" I said.
Powering on the laptop I started to play with it's keyboard furiously as Zhang Yuan just watched me silently.
Within minutes, the laptop screen was filled with lines of code as I navigated through various security protocols. Zhang Yuan watched in silent amazement as I skillfully bypassed firewalls and encrypted systems.
"Mr. Lin, where did you learn to do this?" Zhang Yuan asked, his curiosity getting the better of him.
I glanced up briefly, smirking. "Let's just say I've picked up a few tricks over the years. Now, let's see what secrets Zhang Wei has been hiding."
After what felt like an eternity, but was actually just a few more minutes, I finally accessed the files I needed. A series of bank transactions, communications, and confidential documents appeared on the screen.
"Gotcha," I murmured, focusing on the data in front of me. Zhang Yuan leaned in, trying to make sense of the information.
"Well hello there, look what I found, It looks like Zhang Wei has been funneling money from the company he'sworking in without anyone knowing. These transactions are linked to off-the-books deals with several high-profile clients and some company expenses which he's been pocketing. This is definitely shady business," I explained, scrolling through the documents.
Zhang Yuan's eyes widened as he heared the information. I leaned back, considering my options for a while then said "Do you have any connections with Hunan Taihua Advertisement Ltd Company?"
"Not much but we've had some buisness cooperations once or twice." he said
"We'll need to be strategic. This information can be useful, first, I'll ensure we have all the evidence securely backed up. Then we have to send it to the owner of the company without getting exposed." I said and started clicking the keyboard again.
A minute later with a final click "And it's done" I said and grinned happily. "Thank you again by the way" I said to Zhang Yuan.
I just have to wait for the company officials to make their move on Zhang Wei I thought.
Zhang Yuan nodded, clearly impressed by the swift and decisive action. "You're welcome, Mr. Lin. If there's anything else you need, just let me know."
As he left, I felt a surge of satisfaction. Zhang Wei's underhanded dealings were about to be exposed. The anticipation of the company's reaction filled me with a sense of control over the unfolding situation.
I went to bed after ordering something to eat and went to sleep with a satisfied belly.
The next day it was a whirlwind of activity. News of Zhang Wei's misconduct spread quickly within his company, and it wasn't long before he was formally dismissed and faced legal consequences. The swift action taken by the owner Hunan Taihua Advertisement Ltd. served as a warning employees who might consider similar underhanded tactics.
With Zhang Wei dealt with, I turned my attention to other pressing matters. I went to Liu Wen's home. Ringing the bell I waited there for some seconds.
It was Liu Wen who opened the door, looking sad. Seeing me she tried to shut the door but before she could I pushed the door open went in to embrace her tightly, closing the door behind me.
She struggled for a while but started losing strength in my embrace and started sobbing in my arms. I rubbed her back gently to console her as she sobbed.
It took a while but she eventually calmed down. "What happened" I asked." Zhang Wei he was arrested for a fraud he did in his company" she said while I wiped her tears.
"Mom couldn't take the news and fainted, she's ok now but sleeping now. That bastard lied to us" she said.
I paused for a while and then in a serious face said " I'm sorry!...I'm truly sorry Wen it was my mistake for doing this without thinking of it's consequences on your family".
The atmosphere suddenly became calm, then "Why?" she asked me with red eyes. "I love you Wen and I previously told you that I would look into the person who took you away from me"
"It would be a different story if he was clean or honest but when I got to know he was stealing money from his company I took action without thinking." I said.
Hearing my answer Liu Wen was startled and stared at me with wide eyes then she suddenly came to me without saying a word and placed her hand gently on my cheeks and stroked it gently.
Knowing that she wasn't angry with me anymore I hugged her tightly and kissed her on the lips forcefully. This time she reciprocated instantly and jumped up locking her legs on my waist.
"I actually missed this, Lin Feng" she said while kissing and gasping at the same time. I controlling myself parted the kiss then said "Where's your mother I wanna check on her."
Getting to her senses she just blushed and pointed the stairs to which I followed to go up. I found her room after little effort. I went in and locked the door behind me.
