Saturday came sooner than expected Cheng Xiao was so nervous to meet her mother, after the phone call they had, she didn't have the guts to talk to her mother. Xu Kai squeezed her hand in the car. Tonight, her parents would meet her husband who also happened to be her boss.
How were to react, she got married without even them knowing let alone their permission. Cheng Xiao let out a deep breath and got out of the car. Xu Kai looked at the house she grew and didn't judge.
"Let us go in." She said and led the way.
She let out another breath before knocking, the person that opened the door was her mother.
"Mom!" Cheng Xiao greeted.
"Come inside!" Her mother said stepping aside.
Xu Kai carried the gifts into the house and placed it on the table when they sat down. Cheng Xiao's mother said with her hands folded on her lap, her father sat there not saying a word.
"Mom, dad this is Xu Kai my husband." Cheng Xiao introduced.
"Aunt, uncle hello it nice to meet you." Xu Kai said politely.
"Xu Kai? Isn't that the name of your CEO?" Mr. Cheng asked.
"I am!" Xu Kai said out right.
"Cheng Xiao, what were you thinking?" Mrs. Cheng asked.
"Auntie, please don't blame her." Xu Kai said.
Mrs. Cheng casted him a look that told him to shut up.
"Wasn't what your sister went through enough to teach you a lesson?" Mrs. Cheng asked.
"I'm sorry!" Cheng Xiao said looking at her lap.
Xu Kai looked at the way she kept fidgeting with her hands on her lap.
"Aunt, please it is not her fault. I am the one that married her by force." Xu Kai said.
"What do you mean by that?" Mrs. Cheng asked.
"She had quit working, and the next thing I heard she had gone on a date. Before someone could take her from me, I married her." Xu Kai said.
"What about your family?" Mr. Cheng asked.
"We don't want her to suffer the way her sister did." Mrs. Cheng added.
"You don't have to worry about that. My mother loves her, my father respects." Xu Kai replied.
"Is that true?" Mrs. Cheng turned to her daughter and Cheng Xiao nodded.
Mrs. Cheng let out a deep breath and smiled.
"You silly child!" She said lifting Cheng Xiao's chin.
"Finally, you decided to get married, I thought you wanted to be a spinster all your mom." Her mother said.
"I supposed Shen Mu knows?" Mrs. Cheng asked and Cheng Xiao nodded again.
"I suppose you know the man she married?" Mr. Cheng asked.
"Yes, his best friend." Cheng Xiao said pointing at Xu Kai.
