Chapter 292 - Routines

Chapter 292 Routines

Once Kai finished his meal, Aleshia helped him wash his hands and clean his face. After he was tidy, Aleshia laid him back down on the bed. As she settled him in, she said, "If you would like to know anything else, please feel free to ask."

Kai carefully considered what he wanted to ask, but was apprehensive about asking how long it had been since he last woke up. Instead, he decided to pose a different question. "What was the voice I heard earlier? When I was coming out of my daze, I was sure I heard another voice. But now that I think about it, I don't see anyone else with you or around."

Aleshia was confused by his question and stated, "What do you mean? I don't think there is anyone else who has entered this room other than me." She scanned the room for signs of anyone else being awake but quickly dismissed that possibility. Instead, she arrived at a different conclusion, as the only other being capable of communication in the room was Lucia, who had been conversing with Aleshia telepathically.

With that thought in mind, Aleshia theorized that the curing circle connected to Kai's body allowed him to overhear their conversation. After reaching this conclusion, she tried to shift her focus away from that idea and said, "Well, you may have been hearing the kids outside this room. Yes, that's right." She scrambled for an answer, then warned him, "You may start to feel drowsy soon, so if you have any other questions, please ask."

Kai nodded at her response. With that explanation clearing things up, he began to think about his desire to see Daniel and Rebel. However, as he started to speak, a wave of fatigue washed over him. While feeling overwhelmed, he began experiencing a strange, unfamiliar sensation. Despite this odd feeling, he remained calm and relaxed due to Aleshia's explanations and their conversation, which helped him understand what was happening.

As Kai succumbed to slumber, Aleshia and Lucia began to discuss recent revelations. "So, he was listening to our conversation. Should we be worried at all?" Aleshia asked with concern, looking at Kai, who was starting to drift off.

"No, I don't think it matters much," Lucia replied. "What we were discussing while he was awake doesn't seem important, so I believe we're in the clear." After that, Lucia returned to her usual routine of monitoring the cured's conditions while they slept, and Aleshia began preparing to go to bed.
