Chapter 755 - "Chapter 754: The Brothers' Fight Ended with the Appearance of the Detective."

Chloe Decker's day began exactly the same way as any other day before it. Waking up early in the morning, Chloe got out of bed and immediately went to wash up and take a shower to fully wake herself up, after which she calmly prepared a hearty breakfast.

After a short invigorating shower, Chloe went to wake up her daughter Trixie. Opening the door to her daughter's room, she immediately saw Trixie sleeping peacefully, tightly hugging a strange plush bear that Maze had brought her for her last birthday.

Sighing heavily once again at the sight of this plush bear, which looked more like a horrific victim of a terrible car accident than a normal children's toy, Chloe carefully approached the bed. She gently stroked Trixie's head to finally wake her up.

"Trixie, wake up. Otherwise you'll miss your school bus," Chloe said, continuing to tenderly stroke her sleeping daughter's head.

"Mmm…" Trixie quietly mumbled, lazily rolling over to the other side and stubbornly continuing to hug the creepy plush bear.

Noticing that her daughter was flatly refusing to wake up, Chloe only chuckled softly, understandingly shaking her head. After all, only yesterday they had returned together from a week-long trip across Europe, which Trixie herself was incredibly happy about, and Chloe sincerely rejoiced that she had managed to arrange such an unforgettable journey for her beloved daughter.

Continuing to chuckle cheerfully, Chloe leaned down to her daughter and began gently shaking and tickling her. A moment later Trixie finally woke up and started laughing loudly, wriggling merrily in her mother's arms and desperately trying to fend off this tickling attack, using her creepy plush toy as a shield.

"Oh, so that's how you're going to treat your own mother? Then expect a crushing counterattack, my little rascal!" Chloe said with a laugh, beginning to tickle her daughter with even more enthusiasm.

"Aaaah, help, an evil mom is attacking me!" Trixie screamed through her laughter, convulsively trying to break free from her mother's tenacious hands.

A few moments later Trixie was fully awake, breathing heavily after the prolonged laughter. Pouting because she had been so unceremoniously woken up, Trixie demonstratively climbed out of bed and, loudly stomping her feet, went to the bathroom to wash up. Watching her daughter actively show her displeasure at the early awakening, Chloe only smiled tenderly and quietly left the room.

Going out to the kitchen, Chloe quickly began preparing breakfast for Trixie, while making herself a light snack and strong coffee. While cooking, she kept glancing at the phone screen — as if sincerely expecting an incoming call or message. Distracted by her phone, Chloe nearly burned the cheese toasts for her daughter. Quickly flipping the toast in the pan, she stared intently at the phone again.

Chloe was really waiting for the usual morning message that she regularly received from Lucifer throughout their week-long trip across Europe. Already thinking that she should probably text Lucifer first, Chloe reached for the phone. But by this time Trixie had already finished washing up and getting dressed and cheerfully came out of her room with a backpack on her back.

Seeing that her daughter was already fully ready for school, Chloe pulled her hand back from the phone in time and decided that she should first send Trixie to the bus, and only then think about everything else.

"Come on, Trixie. Eat breakfast quickly, or you really will miss your school bus," Chloe said, placing a plate with hot cheese toasts right in front of her daughter.

"I won't be late. I'll come when I consider it necessary," Trixie replied confidently, picking up a cheese toast in her hand.

"And where did you learn that?" Chloe asked wearily, taking a slow sip of hot coffee.

"Lucifer taught me. He said that I don't need to adjust to other people's time at all — it's they who all have to adjust to my personal time," Trixie said with a proud smile, slightly narrowing her eyes at her mother.

"Of course it was him who taught you that… And I've told you a hundred times not to listen to absolutely everything Lucifer tells you. Especially this," Chloe said, rubbing her forehead, not surprised in the slightest that her daughter continued to unquestioningly follow Lucifer's advice.

"No promises," Trixie said with a sly smile, taking an appetite bite of her cheese toast.

"Eat up and run to the bus," Chloe said, having no intention of continuing this useless morning argument with her daughter.

Sighing heavily once again, Chloe took another sip of coffee and looked intently at the wall clock. Seeing what time it was, she clearly realized that there was less than ten minutes left before the school bus arrived. Realizing that there wasn't much free time left, Chloe began actively hurrying Trixie so she would finish eating her breakfast faster.

Hearing her mother's insistent request, Trixie quickly finished the two cheese toasts, immediately washing them down with fresh juice. When her daughter had finally finished breakfast, Chloe got up from the table and went to see her outside to personally make sure she safely boarded the school bus. Trixie shot out of the house like a bullet and quickly ran toward the bus stop.

A couple of minutes later the school bus smoothly pulled up to the curb. Seeing that Trixie had safely gotten inside, Chloe closed the front door of the house and returned to the kitchen table to calmly finish her morning coffee.

Sitting down on the chair, Chloe looked at the phone screen again, thinking that she really should text Lucifer first. But the moment she reached for the phone, she saw that an incoming call was coming in right then. Seeing the lieutenant's number on the screen, Chloe immediately answered.

Hearing the dry order that she needed to urgently come to the station, personally report on her passed vacation, and at the same time quickly deal with some documents that had piled up significantly during her week-long absence, Chloe obediently ended the call.

Putting the phone back on the table, Chloe quickly finished her cooling coffee and placed the dirty mug in the sink. All her recent thoughts about texting Lucifer immediately gave way to the usual thoughts about work. Taking her service weapon, detective badge, and car keys, Chloe calmly left the house, firmly closing the door behind her. Getting into her car, she immediately headed straight to the police station.

"I think I'll text him later. Maybe he's busy with something… And what does Lucifer even do in his free time? Probably annoying someone again," Chloe said thoughtfully, slowly pulling out onto the road.

At that very moment Chloe didn't even suspect how right she was in her morning assumption. Arriving at the police station, Chloe parked her car in the underground parking lot, after which she immediately went up to the homicide department. Habitually greeting her colleagues on the way to the lieutenant's office, she answered quick questions along the way about how exactly her long-awaited vacation in Europe with her daughter had gone.

Finishing the short conversations, Chloe headed straight to her boss's office. After a brief talk with the lieutenant about how her flight had gone, she officially handed in her report. Hearing absolutely everything the lieutenant wanted to hear, the woman nodded dryly and said that Chloe could immediately start working. Saying goodbye, Chloe left the office and headed to her desk.

Approaching closer, she was surprised to notice that there weren't as many folders with current cases on the desk as she had initially expected, considering how alarmingly the lieutenant herself had spoken about it on the phone. But even this small number of accumulated criminal case folders was quite enough for several hours of dense, continuous work. Sitting down at the desk, Chloe took the very first folder and began carefully reviewing the materials of another murder.

"I see you're already back. And I sincerely thought you'd spend this day at home," came a familiar male voice right next to Chloe's desk.

Lifting her gaze from the papers, Chloe saw a man she knew very well. It was Dan Espinoza — her ex-husband and at the same time the loving father of Trixie. Seeing Dan again after a week of vacation, Chloe only smiled slightly. Even though their marriage had ended on a rather unpleasant note in the past, they still managed to remain good friends and loyal colleagues in the department. And Dan really loved his daughter madly, which Chloe had always greatly appreciated in him.

Dan, in turn, looked attentively at Chloe and simply couldn't help but notice that she looked quite rested and fresh after this week-long trip. The eternal dark circles under Chloe's eyes had finally completely disappeared, and that old, tired look of a person who constantly tries to carry absolutely everything on her shoulders was gone.

"The lieutenant called and quite insistently said that I had to personally report right after the vacation. And, as I now clearly understand, it was you who kindly handled most of my criminal cases," Chloe said with a smile, smoothly turning on her chair to look directly at Dan.

"Maybe you're really right… How's Trixie? Did she end up liking the trip?" Dan said, skillfully dodging a direct answer, lazily leaning his hands on the edge of Chloe's desk.

"I would confidently say that Trixie had a simply wonderful time. So good that this morning she flatly refused to get out of bed and almost missed her school bus because of it," Chloe said with a chuckle, getting up from the chair and preparing to go get herself another portion of hot coffee.

"Well, that's perfectly understandable. She probably got really tired during the whole trip. The day before yesterday she couldn't stop bragging about how many cool places you two visited. My phone is still literally flooded with photos she regularly sent me from there," Dan said cheerfully, pulling out and showing the screen of his phone on the go while they walked together down the station corridor to the coffee machine.

Seeing the number of photos Trixie had sent to Dan's phone, Chloe only chuckled slightly. Approaching the coffee machine, she began enthusiastically telling how exactly their trip across Europe had gone, what beautiful places they had visited, and what they had managed to see. During this warm conversation Chloe once again completely forgot to finally text Lucifer first. Calmly drinking coffee in Dan's company and talking with him a bit, Chloe returned to her desk to continue the interrupted work.

Sorting through the current documents, she firmly thought that she would first finish all this paperwork to the end, and only then calmly call Lucifer. Because a strange, sticky feeling was already arising inside her due to the fact that Lucifer still hadn't contacted her himself.

A couple of hours later Chloe finally finished all her work and carefully checked the time. She saw that it was already past noon on the station clock. Slightly stretching in her chair, Chloe took her phone in her hand and dialed Lucifer's number. After a couple of long, unanswered rings, no one picked up on the other end. Lowering the phone onto the desk, Chloe frowned slightly, and her experienced detective's intuition began insistently telling her that something was wrong right now.

"I think it's better to go check myself," Chloe said, getting up from the desk and grabbing her car keys.

Holding the car keys in her hands, Chloe went down to the underground parking lot and quickly found her car. Getting behind the wheel and starting the engine, she drove out of the parking lot and immediately headed toward the Lux club. Stopping at the first traffic light, Chloe dialed Lucifer again, but again no one answered the call.

Chloe simply didn't know that Lucifer currently had no physical opportunity to answer the call because he was completely busy desperately fighting with his new younger brother. But for Chloe herself this was a very alarming sign that made her think about all sorts of things. She wasn't sure if Lucifer himself would be at his club, but she definitely knew that Maze would certainly be there at this time.

When the traffic light finally turned green, Chloe pressed the gas pedal and drove forward. Ten minutes later she parked on the side of the road right next to the establishment and got out of the car, glancing over the main entrance. Closing the car, Chloe calmly walked inside.

And the moment she crossed the threshold, she immediately heard a strange, heavy noise coming straight from the main hall. The sound reaching her ears was all too familiar to her. Without wasting time, Chloe noticeably quickened her pace, soon entered the club hall, and after that instantly froze in place.

What Chloe saw made her experience strong shock and horror at the seen chaos. She saw Lucifer, who was completely covered in blood and alcohol, squeezing the neck of a broken bottle in his hands. And right in front of him stood an unfamiliar young guy in far from the best condition, tightly gripping a bent iron pole.

Chloe couldn't understand at all what was happening here, why Lucifer was in such a terrible state, and for what reason he was fiercely fighting with someone. Chloe's gaze confusedly shifted to the bar counter, where she saw another unfamiliar man lazily drinking beer, leaning on the counter. And right next to this man stood the imperturbable Maze, who was leaning on the counter and slowly stirring her cocktail.

At that moment a real system failure occurred in Chloe's head from the seen mess. Because of the shock she didn't even pay attention to the fact that the blood-covered young guy looked suspiciously like Lucifer himself, only noticeably younger. Not knowing what exactly she needed to do in this insane situation, Chloe decided to do the only thing she could at all — namely, clearly and loudly demand coherent answers to her questions.

"What the hell is going on here?!" came Chloe's furious scream when she saw in full detail the terrible state of the club and Lucifer himself.

When Chloe's furious scream sounded, absolutely everyone present in the hall turned their attention to her. Maze, standing behind the bar counter, only smirked slightly because she knew perfectly well: the current insane situation would very soon become even more fun.

Dean, in turn, looked at Chloe with lively interest, still not understanding at all who this woman was. But from her behavior he quickly realized that the stranger was terribly well acquainted with both Lucifer and Maze. This became especially clear from how Lucifer himself instantly reacted to Chloe's sudden appearance.

Alex and Lucifer froze in place and synchronously turned their heads toward Chloe, who was looking at them from the second floor with a heavy, angry gaze. Taking a deep breath, Alex lazily tossed aside the broken iron pole, beginning to distinctly feel a dull pain in his face and throughout his body after this turbulent brawl.

Lucifer, however, looked at Chloe with surprise, sincerely not understanding why exactly she had come to the club at such an inopportune time. Chloe herself was already quickly descending the stairs from the second floor, looking intently and menacingly at Alex and Lucifer.

"Oh, Detective, how unexpected. What exactly brought you to us at this time?" Lucifer asked with a carefree smile, deftly tossing the neck of the broken wine bottle behind his back.

"You're still asking?! What happened here at all?! And why haven't you been answering my calls all this time?!" Chloe began loudly asking, approaching Lucifer closely.

"Calls? You called me?... Hm, where is my phone anyway?" Lucifer asked in surprise, beginning to search his pockets for the phone.

Rummaging through his pockets, Lucifer never found his phone, but he did see it in time, broken and lying alone right on the floor. Discontentedly pursing his lips, Lucifer carefully picked up his smartphone from the floor and sadly noticed that it was completely destroyed and the screen no longer even worked. Looking at his dead phone, Lucifer mentally added the price of this gadget to the overall large bill for the damage that he firmly intended to present to his brazen younger brother.

Chloe, at that moment, was already thoroughly examining Lucifer's wounded body, desperately trying to make sure that he was completely fine. And while Chloe's attention was fully focused on Lucifer, Alex quietly approached the bar counter and, carefully holding his aching back with one hand, sat down on a free stool, distinctly feeling strong pain throughout his body.

"Here, handsome, this will come in handy," Maze said, tossing Alex a thick ice pack.

"Thanks, Maze," Alex replied, immediately pressing the cold ice pack to his bruised face.

Pressing the ice to his face, Alex still distinctly felt heavy, dull pain throughout his body. Lazily moving his neck, he estimated how much more time would pass before his power returned to normal so he could properly heal himself. Taking a deep breath, Alex began using the melting ice to carefully wash the blood from his face and at least somewhat come to his senses.

While Alex was getting rid of the fresh blood on his face, Maze understandingly poured him a portion of whiskey so he could calmly drink and relax after the fight. Seeing a glass of alcohol in front of him, Alex without unnecessary words stuck his fingers into his mouth and a moment later casually pulled out a loose tooth, which he immediately tossed with a dull clink straight into the glass of whiskey.

Dean, sitting on the neighboring stool next to Alex, laughed loudly, seeing in full detail what exactly Alex's face had turned into after this brutal fight with his own brother.

"They really worked you over. You look like complete shit right now," Dean laughed, not even thinking of hiding the sincere amusement in his eyes.

"I'm not the only one. And anyway, this is only the second time I've been worked over this badly," Alex said calmly, lazily wiping the remnants of blood from his lips with his sleeve.

"And who was that very first one? I'm really wildly curious who even had enough strength to seriously injure someone like you," Maze asked with sincere interest, pouring Alex a portion of whiskey into a new, clean glass.

"There's a long story with one guy who hates demons. If I start telling about him, his story will drag on for a whole day… But after our fight we became friends. So everything's more or less fine," Alex said thoughtfully, drinking the whiskey in one gulp.

Maze only understandingly raised an eyebrow, showing sincere interest in the mysterious man Alex had just casually mentioned. Alex himself smoothly turned toward Lucifer and Chloe. Seeing Chloe in person, Alex couldn't hide the lively interest in his eyes. After all, she turned out to be exactly as he had initially imagined her from his memory.

And now it quickly became clear to him why his older brother had fallen so hard for this woman. Chloe really was special, especially her heavy gaze on Lucifer. Chloe saw him as his true self, exactly as he really was, and not through the prism of other people's hidden desires, as was constantly the case with other people who looked at Lucifer.

While Lucifer carelessly answered Chloe's questions, convulsively trying to bring his ruined clothes into relative order, Chloe herself was trying with all her might to understand what had happened here at all.

Brushing off his expensive jacket, Lucifer carefully fixed his disheveled hair, combing it back and at the same time wiping the remnants of blood and alcohol from his face with his sleeve. Seeing that Lucifer was openly ignoring her, Chloe sighed irritably, still not quite used to this man's eccentric character.

"Lucifer, are you even listening to me?" Chloe asked irritably, intently watching Lucifer, who continued fussily putting himself in order.

"Of course I'm listening to you, Chloe. Don't worry, it was just a small family quarrel," Lucifer replied with a slight smile, carelessly tossing aside a handkerchief covered in fresh blood.

"A family quarrel? With whom else?" Chloe asked, frowning and folding her arms tightly across her chest.

"With whom? With my new younger brother. We only met today. There he is sitting, you already saw him. He's the one who smashed my face, and I smashed his. And it was also him who caused all this destruction in my club," Lucifer said with a chuckle, confidently pointing his finger toward Alex, who was calmly sitting at the bar counter and pressing an ice pack to his face.

Chloe shifted her gaze in the direction Lucifer was confidently pointing and saw Alex again. And when their gazes met, Alex smiled welcomingly and friendly waved his hand with a satisfied smile on his face. Looking at Alex, Chloe simply couldn't help but notice that now, when his face was no longer thickly covered in blood, this guy had a striking resemblance to Lucifer's own appearance — except perhaps for the bright rainbow color of his eyes, which she had never seen on anyone in her life.

Frozen in place, the first thing Chloe immediately thought was that Alex was another angel and that in the distant past they had simply had a major disagreement with Lucifer. But this thought instantly receded into the background, since Lucifer himself had just openly said that they had only met today.

And now she was wildly curious what exactly had become the true cause of this destructive fight. Seeing how intently and suspiciously Chloe was looking at him, Alex didn't even need to read her thoughts to know in detail what questions were currently spinning in her head.

"Nice to meet you, Detective Decker. My name is Alexander. But for friends and family, just Alex is fine. And my friend behind me is Dean. Let's just say we ended up here far from our own free will," Alex said with a slight smile, calmly approaching closer to Chloe and extending his hand for a handshake.

"Um, yes. Very nice to meet you too… But those words of yours 'not of our own free will'… Was that ultimately the reason for your fight?" Chloe asked, awkwardly shaking Alex's hand in return, immediately asking the question that interested her most.

Alex opened his mouth but immediately closed it again when he accidentally met Lucifer's heavy gaze. Lucifer's eyes were fiercely blazing crimson at that moment, and his human mask had almost completely slipped, revealing a terrifying devilish face. Lucifer's whole appearance clearly showed that if Alex blabbed about the real reason now, he would pay very harshly for it.

Seeing such an obvious threat from his older brother, Alex barely restrained himself from rolling his eyes, continuing to keep a smile on his face. He wasn't going to tell the truth about why the fight had happened. After all, Alex had already understood that Lucifer's words had been nothing more than a joke when he asked to be introduced to Alucard. Because in Lucifer's eyes the most important woman was Chloe.

"Oh, no. We just started arguing about who is more handsome. And it eventually turned into a fight. As you can see, our faces are not in the most pleasant state," Alex replied cheerfully, pointing his finger in turn first at his own face and then at Lucifer's face.

"You're joking, right?" Chloe asked in surprise, sincerely not believing that such a brutal fight could have started for such a stupid reason.

"Well, just look at us, Detective. We really do look very similar. Only I'm still more handsome," Lucifer said cheerfully, brazenly wrapping an arm around Alex's neck and phrasing his words in such a clever way as not to blurt out the real truth to Chloe and at the same time not to lie.

Hearing this, Chloe couldn't believe her ears. It seemed to her that a stranger and more absurd reason for starting a fight simply could not exist in the Universe. And her experienced detective's intuition insistently told her that this whole beauty contest story was an ordinary brazen lie.

But before she could voice her suspicions, her phone in her pocket suddenly began ringing loudly. Taking out her mobile, she saw an incoming call from Ella Lopez on the screen. Raising her hand and clearly showing the guys that this conversation was far from over, Chloe immediately stepped aside, quietly stepping over the broken glass to answer the important work call.

When Chloe moved to a safe distance, Lucifer casually removed his hand from Alex's shoulder and calmly sat down at the bar counter. Shaking his head, Alex sat down exactly between Dean and Lucifer. And the moment he took his place at the bar, he physically felt that he could once again fully use his power. In that same instant all the wounds and bruises on his face healed without a trace, but his clothes still remained dirty and torn.

Slightly tugging at the edges of his collar, Alex instantly changed into a completely clean and new coat. Lucifer's face also instantly returned to its former flawless appearance with the influx of power, but unlike Alex, he remained sitting in the same dirty clothes covered in blood and spilled alcohol.

"Not a bad changing trick, little brother," Lucifer said with a slight smirk, timely noticing how Alex had changed his torn clothes for new clean ones in a second.

"Usually at work I'm covered in blood from head to toe. And I'm just too lazy to change clothes the normal human way every time. Right, Dean?" Alex replied, shrugging, and lazily tugged at Lucifer's stained jacket sleeve, helping his older brother instantly change into a new clean suit as well.

"Damn right. No matter the job, we're always covered in blood, or even worse… The last time we had such a mess was, I think, in Mount Massive. Crazy psychos, rivers of blood, and tons of shit everywhere. Just an excellent way to spend a legal weekend," Dean said with a smirk, understandingly nodding his head in complete agreement with Alex's words.

"Wonderful. And thanks for the quick help, little brother. I really didn't want to go up to the penthouse once again just to change," Lucifer said in a satisfied tone, carefully adjusting his new jacket and snow-white shirt sleeves.

"Consider us even now," Alex said, calmly taking his phone out of his coat pocket.

"Oh, no. We're definitely not even, younger brother! You completely trashed my elite club. Because of your attacks I had to personally smash a bottle of the rarest expensive wine against the railing. And by the way, there were only five such bottles left in the whole world! Or rather, now there are four. And my personal phone also suffered exclusively because of you. And it was a limited edition — that gadget was only with me! So simply changing my clothes definitely won't pay for all this damage," Lucifer said irritably, beginning to count on his fingers and detailing everything they had managed to smash to pieces during the fight.

Watching Lucifer literally present him with a bill on the go for compensation of all the damage, Alex only silently pinched the bridge of his nose, not even intending to argue with his older brother. And while Lucifer continued enthusiastically listing the losses, Alex calmly opened his inventory, took out a new phone from there, and carefully placed it right in front of Lucifer.

The next thing Alex unhurriedly retrieved from his inventory was an ancient bottle of rare dwarven wine that he had personally received from the dwarves of Erebor in the past. Seeing the rarest bottle of wine and the unusual phone in front of him, Lucifer instantly fell silent and stared at Alex.

Without unnecessary words Alex began to explain in detail what exactly could be done with this advanced gadget, including direct remote access to his main Guild and the ability to obtain unique items from completely different worlds.

Hearing this, Lucifer immediately nimbly grabbed the phone in his hands, sincerely surprised that his younger brother had managed to create such a device on his own, capable of working flawlessly in different dimensions. And immediately after that all of Lucifer's attention was entirely focused on the dwarven wine from Erebor.

"You officially paid with this juicy set only for the broken phone and my bottle of wine. My club is still trashed," Lucifer said, continuing to stubbornly insist on full payment for the damage caused.

Sighing wearily, Alex lazily snapped his fingers, and all the large-scale damage in the club began rapidly restoring itself. Chloe, who had been talking on the phone before, had just finished her call and turned back to the hall. She saw in full detail how the club, smashed to pieces, was literally reassembling itself before her eyes.

Seeing all this mystical chaos, Chloe did exactly what any sane person in her place would do. She firmly decided to pretend that she hadn't seen anything unusual here at all. Chloe mentally repeated to herself several times that absolutely nothing had been broken in this establishment originally, and that right before her eyes the club premises were not restoring themselves as if by magic. Finally settling on this saving thought, Chloe decided to fully concentrate on the fresh news from her work.

Sighing and finally gathering her thoughts, Chloe put the phone in her pocket and returned to Lucifer. Approaching closer, she noticed how Lucifer was enthusiastically examining his new advanced phone, and she also immediately spotted the ancient bottle of wine that definitely hadn't been there before. Deciding not even to ask where all this had come from, Chloe calmly patted Lucifer on the shoulder to attract his attention.

"I don't want to distract you from your sudden family meeting, but a murder recently occurred in the city. Lopez and the forensics team are already working at the scene. I need to go urgently, and you, as my official consultant, are also required to be there," Chloe said after Lucifer finally turned his attention to her.

"Oh, a new murder? I'm all for it! Little brother, you wouldn't happen to want to personally see how your older brother successfully works as a consultant in the police, would you?" Lucifer said with a wide smile, immediately switching all his attention to Alex.

"Lucifer, I don't want to talk about this for long now, but I don't think at all that taking them with us to the crime scene is a good and appropriate idea," Chloe said with a strained smile, clearly not wanting to attract even more outsiders to the current investigation.

"I personally don't mind. And for the record, Detective Decker, Dean and I have quite an impressive track record in similar investigations. Dean has enormous experience in investigations spanning an entire lifetime. And I myself have more than enough experience in this kind of analytical work. Plus, Dean and I are officially field agents of a secret government Bureau," Alex said with a slight smile, confidently pointing his finger first at himself and then at Dean.

"It's just that we mostly always dealt with evil monsters and ghosts. Although, it must be admitted, we also caught ordinary people quite often," Dean calmly added, making it clear to Chloe exactly what they actually did in their work.

"I think I'll just pretend I didn't hear anything about monsters and ghosts… Eh, fine. But if you get in my way there, I'll kick all three of you out immediately. Is everything clear to everyone?" Chloe said wearily, rubbing her forehead once again and having no intention of arguing now because of all the shocks she had experienced today.

Alex and Dean only carelessly shrugged, clearly showing that they had absolutely nothing against such harsh conditions. After all, both of them were simply wildly interested in seeing live exactly how Lucifer would behave during his work as a consultant at a real crime scene.

Seeing that Chloe no longer had anything against their company, Lucifer's mood instantly became even better. After all, how could he miss the magnificent opportunity to personally show off his important work in front of his new younger brother and his silent friend.

To be continued...

(I originally thought I'd describe Chloe's work routine a bit, so we could get to know her and all that. So, I'm debating whether to skip ahead and move on to other things. Or maybe I should also go through Lucifer's other acquaintances and meet another brother, Amenadiel. Plus, there's Lucifer's psychologist, Linda. Hmm. We'll see. I'll go get something to eat and rest. Peace, love, and to walk properly, you need to put one foot in front of the other.)
