Hirvan suddenly spoke when they stepped into the hallway, his voice low but clear. "Where is Fu Yan?"
Lu Hanbing slowed his steps slightly, adjusting his grip around Hirvan's waist to support him better. "He's still at the station," he replied calmly. "Giving statements. He's also helping his father track down everyone involved. Janiyar didn't act alone, he bribed officials, pulled strings everywhere. They're digging through everything."
Hirvan hummed quietly in response. His body leaned heavily against Lu Hanbing despite his efforts to stand straight. The adrenaline that had carried him earlier was long gone. Now, every bruise ached, every muscle protested. He had forced himself to appear fine in front of Elian and Mrs Smith, unwilling to make them worry more than they already had. But the moment he was out of sight, his strength slipped away.
Lu Hanbing noticed immediately. He tightened his hold, letting Hirvan's arm drape more comfortably around his shoulders.
