The scene in the village was truly terrible, so many villagers were killed, those who weren't killed had been rounded up like prisoners, or perhaps slaves, or even animals to the slaughter- men, women, and children alike- truly a despicable act for knights to do… They lost all reason to be called knights now.
"This is everyone in the village, right men?" A slightly more serious man, clearly the one in charge, spoke.
"Except for two girls who escaped into the forest, this is everyone."
"They'll return soon-"
"Actually captain, those two chased after them. So it might be awhile. They like to have their fun with the girls before killing."
"Oh, ahahaha! Then perhaps we should just get started? The forest will take care of the rest for us."
"YOU MONSTERS!" The village chief couldn't hold back anymore. I'm an old man, I shouldn't be rounded up like this. I should have taken at least one of these marauders down with me. He grit his teeth showing what a backbone raised on hard, grueling labor was really like. However, an armored heel smashed his face and he fell on said back, alive, but barely… Is this my life? It's flashing… Huh? Is that… That's right! He smiled, and as if remembering something he'd long since forgotten… A tale, a song… One specific to this village.
"Oh great forest mother, watcher over the forest that is our neighbor-" He managed to get out before he felt something change… His wound healed.
"What kind of demon's work is this!" The captain shouted, demanding an answer.
"I believe it's magic, captain, healing magic."
"That's not possible! Only powerful priests have the ability to use healing magic!"
"AHAHAHAHA! SHE'S TRULY WITH US! SHE'S COME!"
"Who? Who has come! We will cut this savior down like all the rest! As is our duty to them-" The captain stopped once new figures appeared. "What? Where did you come from? Lady, oh my you're naked! Such an immodest woman!"
Ignoring the captain, Night Silver looked at the village chief with a small, yet warm smile. "You remembered enough to call me. But fret not, these two girls braved the dangers of the forest, and called for me, so I arrived, and so did my friends." She explained, holding Nemu who was currenting half asleep as she fed, and she held Enri's hand in her own.
"What? Friends?"
"That's right! Over here!" Touch Me laughed. "What do you call yourselves?"
"Knights' of Baharuth!"
"Even a fool can see through such a lie." Night Silver giggled. "You're with the Slane Theocracy, you're demon worshipers. How else could you ever cause so much strife upon your fellow man? Touch Me, go ahead and kill them however you like. These evil bastards deserve no mercy from anyone."
"As you wish my Lady!"
While Touch Me decided to uh, play with his food… Night Silver tended to the wounded, with but a single chanted spell, adding in her enchanting, and soothing melodic voice. "[Mass Heal]" She smiled, then released Enri's hand only temporarily to hold up a finger. "Now, I know it's a lot to ask, but please gather your village's dead."
"Thank you for healing our wounds, but may I ask that you let us be the ones to bury their bodies. It is our responsibility after all."
"I will allow you the right to bury those who truly perished from your village. So child, won't you listen to me, I plan to give you a gift, one only a few have the ability to grant."
She couldn't mean…
"Oh but I do mean."
"Huh?"
"Your thoughts were written all over your face young man."
"Young?"
"Yeah, you're not even 100 yet, you're still young." She giggled.
"Men! Form teams and quickly bring all of our fallen friends, family, and neighbors here. Women, if you're willing and able, come and help too. As for everyone else, stay with the children."
The groups were formed, and the bodies of their fallen started being delivered to Night Silver's presence. Each body filled her with grief, seeing the horrible ways upon which these peaceful, hardworking people were killed. Once it was confirmed that everyone had been respectfully delivered…
"Enri, would you kindly take your little sister for a moment?"
"Uh. Um, yes…" A crying Enri answered, now holding her sister, but couldn't bear to see the sights.
"Thanks, now go and join your fellow villagers."
Waiting but just a moment later, she began. "My name is Night Silver, I am the goddess presiding over the bountiful nation of Tus Nadair! I am the strongest, the apex of nature's power, I am one with nature, I am mother nature. I will demonstrate how wrong this sight before me feels… Too many are torn apart from each other long before their natural time. When I am called I will arrive, so come back and answer mine, do not leave your loved ones. Allow the world to be righted once more, [Mass Nature's Perfect Resurrection]."
The wind blew, and the dead began to shine, their bodies' healing under the immense force of this light… Then their chests started to rise and fall… Their eyes slowly started opening… The confusion they experienced had taken over as they tried to comprehend what was happening.
"Is this a dream happening right before I die? What I hoped would happen?"
"No it has to be real, right?"
"Who's that gorgeous half naked woman?"
Night silver giggled, and put her hands behind her back in a sort of shy act, with a blush… She'd gotten really good with acting over the 600 years. But she recovered from this state, smiled.
"I am the spirit of the forest your bedtime stories reference. I came by when I heard the call something terribly dreadful happened. It was so wrong, so I made it right. I breathed life back into all of you."
"Huh?"
"Congratulations on your resurrections, I only ask that you cherish your lives, your friends, and your families. Maybe even having more would be good too." Her smile was utterly infectious as her words cut through sorrow like a hot knife!
The villagers paused for a moment and then…
""You are a goddess worthy of praise!""
""So warm!""
""THANK YOU GODDESS! I"LL CHERISH THIS GIFT!""
""I LOVE YOU!!!""
"Pfft, spend time with your families. My friends have recently moved in nearby, they can be a bit weird at times, but you can trust that they will always protect you…" her lips turned into a light hearted smirk. "How about we turn Carne into a fortress city? I'll even get Tus Nadair to build one of our underground specialties."
