Chapter 154 - Chapter 154: Servant of the family.

Paul looked at the woman in front of him and didn't even try to hide his hatred for her.

She was a servant of his so-called stepmother, and she was the one who hired the people who sabotaged his mother's and stepfather's car.

He knew that because she was present when his family was trying to kill him the last time, and she bragged to him about it, enjoying the pain on his face as she did it.

It took all of his willpower to stop himself from tearing her limb from limb on the spot.

-The family didn't even bother to come themselves and sent you instead?

Paul asked, skipping all the pleasantries.

-They are not here anymore, so they left me behind to wait for you in case you arrived within a year.

She said with annoyance.

-Oh, that's new.

I never thought that you're status in the family had fallen so low.

He smiled, annoying her even more.

-Cut the crap, I was the only one trusted enough to deliver this to you.

She said, taking out a letter from her spatial device and handing it to him.

Paul took the letter and read it immediately, surprised at this new development.

The letter was written by his grandfather, and stated that his two stepsisters were taken as disciples by prestigious sects in the fifth world, and his brothers were accepted by other sects thanks to their talents.

This part almost made him laugh, since as far as he knew, their talents were mediocre at best, and their physiques were also nothing special in this world, except for his youngest stepsister, who had a physique suitable for alchemy.

He also learned from the letter that the whole family relocated to the fifth world thanks to the help of the sects.

This shocked Paul to say the least, as in his previous life, no such thing had happened, and they were living in the capital for a decade before they tried to kill him.

The last part of the letter stated that if he wanted to rejoin the family, then the servant would bring him to them.

-So you have orders to bring me there with you?

Paul asked sarcastically, as he was sure that would not be the case.

-You can ignore that part.

She said with a cruel smile.

-You are not going anywhere.

To be honest, you have at most two more minutes to live.

-Is that so?

Paul tilted his head with an amused expression on his face.

-Did you go crazy or something?

The servant asked, a little unsettled at his calmness and amusement.

-Oh, I'm alright, as for that poison you laced the letter with.

Paul had a predatory smile on his lips now.

-It won't work on me.

-Impossible, this poison is strong enough to kill even a taste refinement stage cultivator, and there is no antidote for it.

She said, with a bit of panic in her voice, as the two minutes had already passed and Paul was still alive and well.

Then she remembered that she was not alone.

-Kill him!

She shouted, and the people behind her rushed at Paul.

However, none of them reached him.

As soon as they moved, they were shot dead by Paul's ladies and the nearby cultivators.

Each assassin had at least six arrows embedded in their bodies.

The servant looked at this scene in disbelief before she smiled again.

-Good, very good, you will now be executed for killing people inside the city.

She said with a cruel smile plastered once again on her face and took out a crystal shining with a golden light.

However, before she could even use it, her hand fell to the ground.

She looked in disbelief at the blood spraying from her wrist at the place where her palm had been just a moment ago.

Seeing that she was preparing to escape to the higher world, Paul cut off her hand in the blink of an eye, using his sword.

The woman screamed in pain, falling to her knees.

-You will pay for that.

She roared at him while holding her severed hand.

-I don't think he will.

An imperial officer came closer.

He had seen everything from start to finish.

-You, on the other hand, will most likely lose your head for attempted murder.

The man said calmly.

He saw and heard the whole thing from the beginning, so Paul and the cultivators who helped him would not face any consequences for stopping the assassination attempt.

Hearing the officer, she turned pale and tried to use the spatial device once again, but was stopped when Paul moved like lightning and kicked her in the stomach, sending her flying into the nearby wall.

-Young man, you should stop.

The officer said, seeing as Paul started approaching the woman lying on the ground.

-Don't worry, I won't kill her.

Paul said calmly.

-She has to answer some questions for me before I send her to hell.

The young man's voice was calm and cold, but everyone could hear the anger and hatred in it as well.

The ladies were shocked seeing Paul like that, since even Anna had never seen this side of him.

Paul stood over the woman and cast a healing spell on her to stop the bleeding.

She was useless to him if she bled out.

Then he took her spatial bracelet to stop her from trying anything stupid again.

-You can kill me already, I won't tell you anything.

The woman said, looking at him with hatred.

-That's where you're wrong.

Paul said, creating a blood red mark over his palm.

-I promise, this will hurt.

He said, sending it into her body.

The moment it entered the woman, she started screaming in agony, making everyone watching swallow hard.

He also cast a mute spell on her, since her wailing was annoying.

-Young man, what did you do to her?

The officer asked nervously, as this was his first time seeing such a scene.

-It's a forced slave contract spell.

Paul answered without any emotions in his voice.

-With this, she won't be able to kill herself, and it's only a matter of time before her will is broken and she becomes my slave.

He added, making everyone shudder.

The people around now understood that this young man was not to be crossed, as the consequences were horrifying.
