Chapter 519 - Terrorists Attack the School

The four white vans slowly began to reduce their speed as they entered the outer road area of Tokyo leading directly toward Seijo High School.

Their calm and orderly movement from the outside did not reflect at all the bloody storm they were ready to detonate inside the school environment.

Inside the front-row cabin of the main van, a muscular Caucasian man with one eye covered by a black eyepatch named Jack, sat in the passenger seat with his legs crossed casually.

His rough fingers clamped a lit cigarette, exhaling thick smoke that filled the car's ceiling.

Beside him, the driver, who was a much younger subordinate, smirked cynically while occasionally glancing toward the rearview mirror.

With a condescending tone, he spoke up, "Boss, once we breach the gate and get inside, should we just instantly massacre all those school kids? Shooting them during a panic would definitely be highly enjoyable."

*SLAP!*

In that instant, Jack's facial expression changed. Without warning, his muscular hand flew, slapping the back of the driver's head very hard until the young man's forehead nearly struck the steering wheel.

"Idiot! Fuck you!" Jack cursed with a thundering voice. "Use that shrimp brain of yours! If we massacre all the hostages from the start, how the hell can we escape from this damn country, huh?! The Japan Self-Defense Forces (JSDF) will definitely hunt us down crazily right away without caring about the consequences."

"They won't give us any room to negotiate if we commit a mass slaughter without holding a single hostage in our hands!"

Feeling worried that his other subordinates would truly carry out a stupid action that would ruin the entire plan, Jack immediately reached into his tactical vest. He pulled out a walkie-talkie, then pressed the transmitter button to give direct instructions to all team members in the three other vans.

"Listen up, everyone! The people inside that school are just ordinary high school kids. They are completely helpless and weak."

"Once we succeed in taking control of the area, do not kill anyone indiscriminately. If you run into students or staff trying to act like heroes or cause trouble, just break their legs to teach them a lesson."

"Remember, do not kill unless in a truly urgent condition."

Jack took a deep drag of his cigarette before continuing.

"Our main targets here are only two people: the female named Shiina Mahiru, and the male named Fujimiya Amane."

"If casualties happen to fall outside the targets, that thing will instantly provoke the JSDF to act offensively."

"Japan is not the same as Russia. They won't deploy special forces just to ensure the safety of hostages inside a building. On the contrary, if any of their civilians are killed, their line of command will instantly execute a full mobilization to finish us all off."

Hearing the lengthy explanation from the boss over the intercom, the driver of the main van rubbed the back of his head, which still felt throbbing as a result of the slap just now.

"But still, Boss... aren't we being too excessive? Deploying twenty fully armed elite troops just to execute two ordinary school kids."

"We are one of the most feared factions of the Mexican drug cartel! Attacking a suburban school like this feels like dropping our reputation."

Jack exhaled the remainder of his cigarette smoke out of the slightly open car window, then formed a cynical smile laden with combat experience.

"This is a special request from our client who paid a high price."

"Based on the information provided by the client, those two kids are protected by several 'strong people'. So, sending a combat troop with firearms like this is a must for the sake of ensuring the mission's success rate."

Jack tapped the barrel of the assault rifle in his lap.

"Don't complain so much. No matter how great the martial arts or empty-handed fighting techniques possessed by the 'strong people' protecting our targets are... their number at most is only two people."

"Times have changed, kid. In the face of firearms, even the greatest martial arts is nothing more than a flashy, useless trick."

Hearing the assertion from Jack, a sly smirk was carved back onto the driver's face. He stepped on the gas pedal a little deeper as the school building began to come into view at the end of the road.

"Hehe, you're right, Boss. In that case, this will be the easiest and most enjoyable job we have ever handled."

"Thinking that each head of those two kids is valued at 100 million US dollars by the client... we will all become the new rich who can retire peacefully after completing this mission."

The drug traffickers under Jack's command were by no means stupid people who were blind to tactics. They were black market businessmen; they traded illicit substances for the sake of raking in piles of money, not purely because of a hobby of killing random people.

When they were forced to shed blood in the criminal world, the goal was usually highly measured, namely to intimidate rival cartels, silence traitors, or eliminate anyone who dared to block their path to obtaining material gain.

For an international criminal group like them, the hardest problem always faced every time they operated outside their territory of power was the matter of weapons logistics. In a country with a level of security and social order that was highly stable like Japan, obtaining firearms in massive quantities as well as illegal ammunition was a thing nearly impossible to do.

However, in this mission, everything went altogether too smoothly. Someone mysterious had prepared all units of weapons, ammunition, down to tactical equipment for them as soon as they set foot in a secret harbor. Even though there was no supply of heavy weapons like rocket launchers or grenades, the variants of automatic firearms currently in their grip were already more than enough to face an ordinary police unit, or even corner JSDF members if a close-range firefight occurred.

Jack was the type of leader who always used his brain to analyze situations. From this logistics pipeline that was so neat and flawless, he faintly suspected that these dozens of illegal gun pieces were actually supplied secretly by the Japan branch of the CIA network.

A devious scheme like this was indeed exactly like the operation style highly favored by the American intelligence agency. They possessed a long track record of supporting as well as arming criminal groups across all corners of the world for the sake of causing instability and chaos in a region, so it was highly natural if they possessed thousands of underground channels to transport weapons across another country's borders.

But for Jack, whether they were being used and working for the benefit of the CIA or not, that was completely unimportant. As long as there were piles of hundreds of millions of dollars of money that could be produced at the end of the mission, these cold-blooded criminals would never care whose orders they were currently following.

Not long after, the roar of the four white vans' engines muffled as they arrived at the crossroads toward the educational institution area.

*CRASH!*

Without reducing speed, the foremost van directly struck and forcefully smashed through the iron fence of Seijo High School's main gate until it swung wide open.

The car tires screeched loudly as they swerved atop the school's vast asphalt yard, then stopped in a parallel position.

"Everyone get ready! Instantly get out of the vans and secure every sector! Remember, once this big job is finished, you all will receive a very large reward!"

Jack became the first person to kick the passenger van door open, leading the outward movement.

Hearing the sweet promise about an abundant money bonus, the criminals inside the three other vans laughed out loud while pulling their black cloth masks up over their noses.

With bulletproof vests tightly attached to their chests and a pair of hands gripping the handles of American-made M-series assault rifles in a ready-to-shoot position, they simultaneously forced open their respective vehicle doors.

That group of fully armed drug traffickers jumped out of the trucks with fast movements.

Right near the main gate, a middle-aged security guard who was on duty at Seijo High School was shocked half to death hearing the sound of the iron fence impact.

Witnessing four units of unfamiliar white vans forcing their way into the school environment illegally and parking carelessly, he braced himself to walk over approaching the convoy while holding his baton.

"Hey! What is the matter with you guys?! Who are you and what are you doing inside this school area?! Please instantly turn off the engines and show your identification cards!" the security guard shouted with a firm tone, trying to enforce the school rules.

However, instead of a polite verbal answer, the thing that greeted his presence was instead the sight of a group of muscular men wearing black masks jumping down from the cabins, holding long-barreled assault rifles with tactical clothing exactly like international terrorist forces on the television news.

Seeing that terrifying sight, the entire bravery of the security guard instantly vanished without a trace.

His face turned pale due to an extreme amount of fear.

Realizing the deadly danger lurking, he immediately threw away his baton, turned around as fast as lightning, and ran fast toward the main security post located a few meters behind him for the sake of contacting the local police party.

But unluckily for him, he was facing ruthless cartel contract killers.

After only a few of the security guard's footsteps thudded atop the asphalt, one of the masked criminals in the front row directly raised the muzzle of his M-series rifle coldly without hesitation.

*BANG!*

A single shot that was very well suppressed echoed softly in the air.

The high-velocity, high-caliber bullet zipped accurately, piercing right through the back part of the security guard's head.

The middle-aged man's body instantly tensed before finally collapsing onto the asphalt surface with a pool of blood that slowly widened, dying instantly even before he had time to touch the guardhouse telephone handle.
