Chapter 773, Umbrella
Property?
Wu Heng narrowed his eyes.
Lilith was planning to live permanently on the island?
Why did she suddenly decide not to leave after arriving?
"It's fine. She's a leader—if she wants to buy something, you can't stop her. Just report anything she does to me afterward," Wu Heng said.
"Yes, Master."
They all headed to the dining room and sat down.
Wu Heng asked, "What kind of property did she buy?"
"A mansion in the Snowburn District," Andviel replied.
The Snowburn District was the same area where Wu Heng had rented a place when he first arrived.
It consisted of individual mansions, mainly home to wealthy merchants and nobles.
Wu Heng nodded in understanding.
His relationship with Lilith was fairly decent—among the leaders, she was the one closest to him.
That made handling church matters more advantageous for his side.
These past few days of interaction, while she was cold, she wasn't as overbearing as she seemed.
Actually, she was relatively easy to talk to.
If she settled on the island, the risk of her discovering his secrets was low. The main risk would be if something dangerous happened.
Robe munched on her steak and asked, "Master, will Leader Lilith living here cause problems for us?"
"No. Lilith is our ally. I'll talk to her tomorrow," Wu Heng said with a smile.
They continued their meal.
Andviel went on to report recent island affairs.
The auction had ended several days ago, and attendees had started leaving the island.
Though the shopping district and cinemas were still bustling, the crowds were clearly thinning.
In about a week, things would likely return to normal.
...…
After dinner, Wu Heng called Sheila Grey.
Mainly to ask about Lilith purchasing property.
Sheila Grey was aware. From her perspective, it was just a temporary residence.
She didn't think Lilith would stay long.
After all, she was a ruling leader and had her own race.
Why would she live permanently on Gold-Silver Island?
They chatted a while, exchanged a few flirty words, then hung up.
Wu Heng went upstairs to shower.
...…
After washing up, Wu Heng lay on the bed in his bedroom.
Staring at the ceiling, he reflected on yesterday's events.
The Korean Central Base trying to kill him with satellites and missiles—that was unexpected.
That sort of thing usually only happened on TV, like Middle Eastern leaders getting assassinated—and it nearly happened to him.
"They sure think highly of me."
Good thing he went there in person and wiped them out—otherwise, it would've been a ticking time bomb.
"Now that the Korean Central Base is under control, the plan's slightly altered, but it's fine."
Wu Heng's mind raced, reordering his previous plans.
First priority—Benny's level-up. She had reached level 19. He needed to push her to 20 soon to boost his overall strength.
Second, the plant growth potion ordered from the wood elves to boost zombie world crop yields. That should have results by now.
"Can't delay that—I'll ask the local rep tomorrow."
Third, the evolution of the Corpse King and mass production of corpse cores—must keep advancing that.
In the zombie world, these were the top three priorities.
As for the otherworld—
His biggest challenge was still reputation growth.
Despite all the hard work and cash flow, his reputation barely budged.
"Nothing but money to my name, huh."
He folded his arms behind his head, thinking again about ways to gain reputation. Could money buy it?
He thought and thought but came up with nothing great.
At the moment, his best bet was with the Kingdom of Ekow.
The Fifth Princess had taken Netaray City, which clashed with the First Prince's plans, and Rentam City in the north was already at war with the Second Prince.
The two princes with the most potential to seize the throne were both at odds with him.
"The Association is already involved with the First Prince—better stay out of that."
"With the Second Prince, best to wait and watch. If war escalates, it'll draw too much attention."
So for now, he couldn't touch either side.
Wait for the Association's investigation results.
Meanwhile, back on Gold-Silver Island, Lilith bought a house.
A level-20 Professional—she was indeed an unstable factor, but if handled well, it might not be a bad thing.
At least with her around, the church leaders wouldn't dare cause trouble—unless they wanted to start something.
Might even boost Gold-Silver Island's reputation.
"I really need to think this through."
"Also, satellites and missiles..."
In the modern world, the Korean Central Base had its own satellites—maybe he could launch one in the otherworld too.
To track enemies—whoever pissed him off, he'd precision strike them.
As long as heroes were still flesh and blood, they couldn't survive a missile hit.
Actually doable.
Even launching to headquarters didn't seem that hard now.
It was just a matter of getting a missile.
This was feasible. He needed to find a way to make it happen.
He mentally reviewed everything again.
Sleepiness crept in, and he drifted off.
...…
Snowburn District. Inside a dark mansion—
A girl in a purple gown slowly descended from the sky and said to the air, "This is the house I just bought. What do you think?"
"Why'd you buy it? There are tons of rooms in the Lord's estate," Xiaoxiao floated nearby.
Lilith kept a straight face. "We adults can't just live in someone else's house."
Xiaoxiao nodded, then said, "Then why not have Uncle give you a house—closer to the estate?"
"Is your uncle that rich?"
Xiaoxiao lifted her head proudly. "He's okay. Just has money piled up like mountains."
Lilith found that a bit amusing. "You sneak out all the time—doesn't your uncle notice?"
"I told him I made a new friend. He told me to get along well with you," Xiaoxiao floated forward and added, "Uncle really dotes on me."
"I can tell. Come, I'll show you the rooms. Still unfurnished, kind of a mess."
"Yay!"
One girl, one ghost, entered the mansion.
...…
Next day, City Hall.
Wu Heng waited in a meeting room. There was a knock, and the representative of Starflower Trade Association entered.
He bowed slightly. "Lord of the Island."
Wu Heng nodded. "Any news from the wood elves about the potion and formula?"
His deal with the wood elves had two parts:
First was the potion—he ordered a batch to boost food production in the zombie world.
Second was the formula—he wanted to buy it, but that required approval from the Wood Elf Council.
The wood elf rep said respectfully, "Lord, the finished potions will be delivered in the next couple of days. I'll arrange delivery to your warehouse. As for the formula, the elders say it still needs discussion. No answer yet."
In other words, they weren't handing over the formula.
Wu Heng nodded. "Notify me immediately when the potion arrives."
"Yes, my lord."
Wu Heng continued, "We'll be setting up a pharmaceutical factory on the island. Do you sell herbs?"
The rep's eyes lit up.
The news of the tablet samples had already spread. Now came the bulk herb orders.
"Of course. Grain and herbs are our main exports. If you place an order, we'll offer the lowest price."
"Other companies will bid too. Submit your prices to City Hall—we'll evaluate."
"Understood. We'll compile the pricing right away," the rep said quickly.
Gold-Silver Island was becoming their biggest customer.
The order volumes exceeded even their largest clients.
Fortunately, tensions between them had been resolved smoothly.
"Alright, go prepare," Wu Heng nodded.
The wood elf rep bowed again and left.
Wu Heng also stood and walked out, explained everything to Andviel, then put on his hood and left City Hall.
Heading to the Guild.
...…
The Guild was as lively as ever.
Mercenaries and squad members filled the hall, checking missions and conducting business.
Wu Heng bypassed the lobby and headed to the dorm wing.
He stopped at a door and knocked lightly.
After two seconds, it opened automatically. A cool voice inside said, "Come in."
Inside, Lilith sat at a desk reading.
"Leader Lilith," Wu Heng greeted her.
Lilith glanced up. "Sit down."
The room was dim, curtains drawn tight.
Wu Heng walked in and sat opposite her. "I heard you bought a mansion on the island."
"It's a nice place. Easier to visit later if I own something here," Lilith said calmly.
Wu Heng said, "That area is full of merchants and nobles. Let me arrange a better place that suits you more. I can have renovations started today."
Lilith replied flatly, "The one I bought is fine."
"You may not know this, but those circles often host balls and nighttime events—it's not exactly quiet," Wu Heng tried another approach.
Lilith raised an eyebrow—seemed a little convinced.
"I've prepared a more suitable spot—closer to the Lord's estate, better fitting your status," Wu Heng said.
"You really are rich," Lilith said.
"That's not the point," Wu Heng was momentarily stunned. "Let me show you the new place."
This time, Lilith didn't refuse. "Wait outside. I'll change."
"Alright."
Wu Heng waited at the door. Soon it opened, and the girl stepped out in a loli dress. "Let's go."
"What about the old man?"
"He's handling some things. We'll go ourselves."
At the door, she handed over an umbrella. "Hold it."
Wu Heng pulled up his hood, opened the umbrella, and held it over Lilith.
The two walked out together.
They got into a carriage waiting outside and headed toward the arranged mansion.
