"Cleansing Light," Margaret lightly called out.
Somewhat caught by surprise, Cleansing Light turned around and was met with Margaret's cold gaze.
She stated plainly, "You can retreat."
It was only three words, but there was great meaning in them.
She allowed him to give up on this task; this was good.
However, this was a task that he had asked for himself.
Yes, it ended up being much more complex only after he took it up, but in the end, this was a task that he sought.
Cupping his fists, he replied, "Revered Lady, I've tarnished the image of the Celestial Heart Atavistic Empire. I am ashamed."
Since Margaret gave him a lifeline to hold onto, he quickly grabbed onto it.
In doing so, his status, which was already lower than Shifting Stars, would plummet once again.
Yet, when thinking of those who were lower than him in status, at the very least, he felt that his position at Margaret's side was not in jeopardy, even after this blunder.
