Chapter 456 - 456: The New Kingdom Arises

In a modern information society, everyone understands that smooth communication is the lifeblood of progress. Mr. Wu and his team wasted no time; as soon as they arrived, they began scouting the outskirts of Starfire City to scout the perfect location for the first communication base station.

The Wisdom of Experience

"I never imagined that an old man like me, practically on the doorstep of retirement, would be sent by the state to a different world to build a communication industry," laughed one of the senior engineers, his face glowing with newfound energy. "I feel like a young man again!"

"Tell me about it," another white-haired, sturdy engineer added with pride. "Old Zhang, my son tried to talk me out of coming—can you believe that? I had to practically kick the little brat out of the house. He thought he could tell his father what to do!".

The other retired experts chuckled. "Old Zhang, your 'boy' is in his thirties now. You can't just kick him around like that anymore," a former telecommunications colleague joked.

"If he doesn't listen, he gets the boot!" Zhang replied with a grin. "In my day, teachers and parents knew how to discipline. That's why we turned out so capable. I look at the kids today, and I wonder who is going to keep them honest if they aren't taught respect".

The group of veterans chatted as they meticulously checked the base station components. These men were the backbone of the project; having spent decades in the field, they could identify a fault with their eyes closed. This was exactly why the government had rehired these retired experts rather than sending fresh university graduates who had plenty of theory but lacked practical experience.

Exploration and Military Reform

While the technicians focused on the towers, dozens of exploration teams from Zhongwei Mining Group finally received their topographic maps of the North. They began venturing into the vast wilderness to locate vital mineral deposits. To ensure their safety, Jason hand-picked local soldiers who knew the terrain to serve as guides and guards. Each team member was also issued a sidearm for protection against the ferocious wolves and bears that roamed the Northern nights.

On the military front, Colonel Liam and Colonel Logan had spent the last few days evaluating Jason's 60,000-man army. They began restructuring the legions to better utilize modern weaponry. Jason's forces were now equipped with artillery—older, towed models from the modern military's surplus—but in the world of Westeros, they represented an unstoppable force.

Intensive live-fire training became the new daily routine at Starfire City. The constant thunder of artillery and the crack of rifles terrified the visiting lords of the North and the Riverlands, ensuring none of them dared to harbor thoughts of rebellion.

Back in the modern world, the military was thrilled to clear out their aging inventory. Rather than spending money to destroy old munitions, they were profiting by selling them to Jason. They were even encouraging him to expand his army tenfold and start the war immediately just to keep the warehouses moving.

The Coronation

With construction projects entering a stable phase and a steady flow of materials arriving through the portal, Jason was ready to follow the advice of his expert panel: it was time to unify Westeros by force. However, according to the traditions of his home world, he needed a formal title and a righteous cause before making his move.

The banner was raised: the lords of the North and the Riverlands declared they would end the "false king" Joffrey's brutal rule, bring justice to the murderers of the Starks, and support Jason Easter as the true King of a unified Westeros.

After two weeks of preparation, the ceremony began. Under the watchful eyes of the lords, his army, and the modern advisory group, Maester Luwin and Maester Qyburn presided over the coronation.

Wearing a crown of gold and a regal Westeros-style robe, Jason led his wife, Sansa, toward a specially constructed high throne. They turned together to face the massive crowd before taking their seats as King and Queen.

Below the platform, Edmure Tully and Bran Stark were the first to drop to one knee. The Northern lords followed, and then tens of thousands of soldiers knelt in a synchronized wave.

"Long live King Jason!" "Long live the King!".

The roar of the crowd was deafening, echoing across the landscape. Sitting on the throne, Jason felt his face flush with a mix of excitement and disbelief. Sansa sat beside him, her hands clasped tightly, her body tense with the weight of the moment.

Even the modern personnel—the engineers, the staff officers, and the technicians—bowed their heads slightly in respect. In their eyes, he was more than just a man with a portal; he was now the King of the world of A Song of Ice and Fire.
