The battlefield lay in ruins, the ground collapsing in layers as massive cracks stretched like writhing serpents, ravaging the area beyond recognition.
At this moment, a deathly silence filled the space, as all eyes were fixed in stunned disbelief on the heavily injured figure lying in the distance.
No one had expected that Hei Yintian, the strongest figure in this place, would actually lose to Mo Yu.
That was an Eighth Grade Supreme! Even the most talented prodigies from the top divine beast clans would find such an opponent troublesome. Yet now, he had been defeated by Mo Yu, who was merely at the Seventh Grade Supreme level?
Amidst the countless shocked gazes, Mo Yu slowly descended from the sky. His expression remained indifferent as he looked at the battered figure in the distance and said calmly, "Still breathing? Trying to play dead?"
From afar, Hei Yintian, who had collapsed in a trench, finally stirred. With some effort, he propped himself up, his face deathly pale, his energy weak. When he looked at Mo Yu, a flicker of fear emerged in his eyes.
Relying on his powerful physique, he had managed to avoid instant death. However, the injuries within his body were still severe.
"Heh, never thought I, Hei Yintian, would suffer such a miserable defeat," he muttered darkly, wiping the blood from the corner of his mouth.
Mo Yu smiled faintly, though there was no warmth in his gaze—only the cold gleam of killing intent.
Hei Yintian had not held back against him earlier, striking with full intent to kill. If circumstances allowed, Mo Yu certainly had no intention of letting him leave alive.
Not far away, Hei Sha, Huang Qi, and the others scrambled backward in a panic, retreating to Hei Yintian's side.
At this moment, their faces were filled with fear, completely devoid of the arrogance they had displayed before.
With Hei Yintian's defeat, the situation had completely turned around.
Cai Lin, Han Yue, Mang Lie, and the others gathered beside Mo Yu. Cai Lin remained composed, but Han Yue and the other experts of the Rhino Demon Clan looked at Mo Yu with newfound reverence.
"This time, we really owe you, Brother Mo," Han Yue sighed.
Had it not been for Mo Yu's intervention, they would have been fleeing like beaten dogs by now. As for the Primodial Treasure Beast, they wouldn't have stood a chance of obtaining it.
"What should we do with them?" Cai Lin asked, glancing at Hei Yintian and his group. A cold gleam flashed in her beautiful eyes—if possible, she wouldn't mind eliminating them all to prevent future troubles.
Sensing the killing intent in her gaze, Hei Sha and the others tensed. Their energy surged as they readied themselves defensively.
"Mo Yu, don't think that just because you defeated me, you can do whatever you want," Hei Yintian growled, his voice low. "My Dark Shadow Tiger Clan is no ordinary weakling clan. If I die here, both your Heaven Swallowing Python Clan and the Rhino Demon Clan will face serious consequences!"
Huang Qi quickly added, "And my Earth Leopard Clan! My lineage's leader is the Grand Elder of the Earth Leopard Clan. If he learns of my death here, he will definitely come for your Heaven Swallowing Python Clan!"
Hearing this, Mo Yu narrowed his eyes slightly. Though their words carried obvious threats, he had to admit that both the Dark Shadow Tiger Clan and the Earth Leopard Clan were indeed stronger than the Heaven Swallowing Python Clan.
If these two divine beast clans came seeking vengeance together, it could cause considerable trouble.
With that in mind, Mo Yu turned to Han Yue and Cai Lin for their opinions. Seeing them shake their heads, it was clear they had no intention of pushing things too far.
Mo Yu chuckled softly. "Ending this matter isn't impossible, but there are conditions…"
"First, you will have no claim to the Primodial Treasure Beast's wealth."
Hei Yintian and the others flinched, their expressions darkening.
A large part of their reason for venturing into the Divine Beast Origin was to compete for the Primodial Treasure Beast. Yet now, Mo Yu was demanding that they completely withdraw. The losses would be immeasurable.
However, when they saw Mo Yu's emotionless smile, they realized that if they refused, this elegant yet ruthless man might truly decide to kill them all.
After weighing their options, Hei Yintian gritted his teeth and nodded reluctantly.
Beside him, Huang Qi was also filled with regret. He had sided with the Dark Shadow Tiger Clan because they had seemed well-prepared and had the greatest chance of winning.
Who would have thought that Han Yue would bring in reinforcements—and that among them would be such a monster?
A Seventh Grade Supreme had defeated an Eighth Grade Supreme.
All his careful planning had gone to waste, and now, he was even losing the right to compete for the Primodial Treasure Beast.
Yet, seeing Hei Yintian compromise, Huang Qi knew better than to protest. With a dark expression, he gave a stiff nod.
"Second," Mo Yu continued, "your actions have caused us significant losses. You will compensate us. The price? One million drops of Supreme Spirit Liquid per person. As for you, Hei Yintian, you'll pay three million."
Though Mo Yu was wary of their backgrounds, he had no intention of letting them walk away easily.
If they wanted to leave, they would have to shed a layer of skin first!
Hearing this, Hei Yintian's face twisted. One million Supreme Spirit Liquid per person?
There were still around eight of them left—did that mean they had to pay a total of ten million Supreme Spirit Liquid?
That was no small sum!
But seeing Mo Yu's icy gaze, Hei Yintian suppressed his frustration. He squeezed five million Supreme Spirit Liquid out of Huang Qi, then emptied his own reserves completely to barely scrape together the ten million.
His hands trembled as he held the jade bottle containing the Supreme Spirit Liquid. Even with his temperament, he couldn't help but feel a pang of pain.
With a harsh flick, he hurled the bottle toward Mo Yu.
"Take it!"
The bottle shot through the air and floated in front of Mo Yu. He merely glanced at it before waving his sleeve to collect it. A satisfied smile tugged at his lips.
Though ten million Supreme Spirit Liquid wasn't much to someone like him, it was enough to ensure that Hei Yintian and his group left with a bitter taste in their mouths.
"You may leave now," Mo Yu said indifferently as he put away the jade bottle.
Upon hearing this, Hei Yintian and his group cast a heart-wrenching glance into the distant depths—the place where the Primodial Treasure Beast had fallen.
That place was bound to hold treasures capable of making one's heart race. Yet now, those treasures had nothing to do with them anymore.
With Hei Yintian gravely injured and his combat power completely lost, they were already fortunate to leave with their lives. If they still wished to compete for the treasures, it would be nothing more than wishful thinking.
"Let's go!"
Hei Yintian was a decisive man. Knowing that the situation was beyond his control, he did not struggle pointlessly. Instead, he shot a venomous glare at Mo Yu before gritting his teeth and turning away.
Behind him, Hei Sha and the others, despite their deep unwillingness, could only follow with darkened expressions.
"The wisest choice we made upon entering the Divine Beast Origin was teaming up with Brother Mo Yu." As Hei Yintian and his group left, Han Yue let out a breath of relief and said with some guilt.
"Throughout this journey, Brother Mo has done the most work, while we merely reaped the benefits."
Indeed, the majority of the crises they encountered along the way were resolved by Mo Yu's strength. If not for him, they might have already fled in utter defeat.
Mo Yu merely smiled at this, then, after a moment of thought, took out the ten million drops of Supreme Spiritual Liquid he had obtained, intending to distribute some. However, not only did Han Yue promptly refuse, but even Cai Lin shook her head.
After all, everything Mo Yu had gained was earned through his own blood and sweat, whereas they had not only contributed nothing but had even needed Mo Yu to save them. Accepting a share of the spoils would make them feel uneasy.
Seeing their firm refusal, Mo Yu did not insist. He simply stored away the ten million Supreme Spiritual Liquid. While his true self was wealthy, this avatar was practically penniless. Thus, this amount of Supreme Spiritual Liquid was no small fortune to him.
With it, his cultivation would proceed much more smoothly in the coming days.
"We should hurry to the site where the Primodial Treasure Beast fell. If other powerful figures arrive, unforeseen complications may arise," Han Yue suggested.
Hearing this, everyone's spirits lifted. They had endured numerous hardships along the way, all for the treasures of the Primodial Treasure Beast. Now that they had overcome every obstacle, wasn't it finally time to reap the rewards?
At this thought, even Mo Yu's eyes flickered with anticipation. He, too, was eager to see what treasures the Primodial Treasure Beast had left behind. Would a Quasi-Saint Artifact truly appear? If so, then this venture would be an unprecedented success.
That would far surpass the mere ten million Supreme Spiritual Liquid.
"Let's go!"
Seeing everyone's enthusiasm, Han Yue grinned, then took the lead, guiding them toward the deepest part of the shadowy basin.
Mo Yu and the others followed closely behind.
They advanced swiftly, and perhaps due to the earlier rampaging beast tide having drawn away all the beast spirits, the deeper regions of the basin were unexpectedly calm.
Even the occasional beast spirits they encountered were few in number and were easily disposed of by Mo Yu's group.
After traveling for roughly half an hour, Han Yue, who was at the forefront, gradually slowed down. His expression grew solemn, as the deathly aura in the surroundings had thickened into a dark, inky shade.
This deathly aura was chilling to the extreme. Even the white flames flickering on Mo Yu and the others' shoulders dimmed considerably under its influence. The invading aura slowed the circulation of spiritual energy within their bodies.
The deathly aura here was terrifying.
Sensing this intensified deathly aura, Mo Yu and the others immediately became more vigilant. Such an aura indicated that a powerful being had perished here, its body decaying and giving rise to this pervasive deathly energy.
And in this place, the only being capable of generating such an aura was the fallen Primodial Treasure Beast.
In other words, they were approaching the Primodial Treasure Beast's resting place.
Cautiously, the group moved through the dense, dark deathly aura. Several minutes later, the dim scenery before them suddenly brightened as the thick deathly mist began to dissipate.
Mo Yu and his group gradually slowed their pace, their gazes filled with astonishment as they looked ahead.
In the depths of this decayed, death-laden forest, a vast, crystal-clear lake had appeared. The lake stretched endlessly across the landscape, its far shore nowhere in sight.
The water was pristine and transparent, completely untouched by the surrounding deathly aura. Instead, it emitted a soft, radiant glow that repelled the ominous mist, forming an isolated sanctuary.
Faintly, it seemed as though a lingering, powerful will was guarding this place.
"This is where the Primodial Treasure Beast fell. We call it Treasure Lake," Han Yue said, his eyes blazing with excitement as he gazed at the pristine lake before them.
"Treasure Lake…"
Mo Yu murmured as he scrutinized the lake. His gaze penetrated the water, attempting to see what lay beneath, but to his surprise, despite its clarity, he could not perceive anything beyond the surface.
It was as if a mysterious force was obstructing any attempts at probing.
Han Yue nodded and waved his sleeve, sending a surge of spiritual energy into the lake. Immediately, the lake surface erupted into violent tempests, sending towering waves crashing into the air.
As the massive waves rolled, Mo Yu and the others' eyes suddenly narrowed.
Within the churning waters, they caught a fleeting glimpse of a colossal, luminous white skeleton.
The sheer size of the exposed portion alone spanned nearly a thousand feet, making it impossible to imagine just how massive the Primodial Treasure Beast had been in life—its body must have been vast enough to blot out the sky.
"That is the skeleton of the Primodial Treasure Beast," Han Yue said solemnly, his gaze fixed on the exposed white bone.
"This lake may appear clear, but it contains the lingering will of the Primodial Treasure Beast. Anyone who comes into contact with it will suffer spiritual backlash, making it impossible to enter," Han Yue explained.
"Then how do we retrieve the treasures?" Mang Lie asked in confusion.
"We use spiritual energy to stir the winds and raise the waves, exposing the bones of the Primodial Treasure Beast. If we can touch its remains, we can use its bones as a medium to extend our consciousness and sense the hidden treasures within.
"Of course, whether or not we can detect a Quasi-Saint Artifact will depend on our own fortunes," Han Yue said.
The group finally understood—it turned out that retrieving the treasures was no simple task.
Mo Yu, however, kept his gaze locked onto the lake. Even though the water could block external perception, he could faintly sense extremely powerful and profound fluctuations deep within.
These fluctuations did not belong to any living being. Instead, they resembled the energy signatures of divine artifacts.
There was undoubtedly a Quasi-Saint Artifact hidden in the depths of this lake!
