Treasure Lake.
By the lakeshore, Mo Yu and his companions stared intensely at the vast lake, as if their gazes could pierce through its depths and uncover the treasures hidden within.
"Let's get started," Han Yue licked his lips. The journey had been long and arduous, but they had finally reached their destination. Now, it was time to reap the rewards.
Hearing this, Mo Yu and the others nodded immediately, clearly unable to contain their anticipation.
"Try to avoid touching the lake water. As for the treasures, their ownership will depend on one's luck," Han Yue said with a smile.
As his words fell, his figure moved in a flash. He was the first to charge out, his sleeve waving as he unleashed a vast surge of spiritual energy. The overwhelming force lifted massive waves, temporarily revealing a portion of the enormous, gleaming white skeleton submerged in the lake.
Han Yue then found a stable landing spot. His body flickered before he appeared atop a section of the exposed white bones. Sitting cross-legged, he gathered his spiritual energy into a protective whirlwind, forming a barrier around himself. No matter how fiercely the lake water roared, it was unable to reach him.
The other three powerful experts from the Rhino Demon Clan followed suit. Each of them swiftly found an exposed section of the skeleton, unable to wait any longer as they sat down to begin their search.
"We should move as well."
Seeing this, Mo Yu did not hesitate. His figure flickered, appearing in midair above the lake. Looking down, he examined the vast expanse of water below him.
Deep beneath the surface, a colossal skeleton of unimaginable proportions lay still, its presence shrouded in an ancient, unfathomable aura. Despite having perished for countless millennia, it still emanated a mysterious pressure that sent shivers down one's spine.
Mo Yu sighed inwardly before descending gently onto a section of exposed bone. Sitting down cross-legged, he immediately felt an eerily cold sensation creep over him, making his body shudder slightly.
"Let's see what kind of treasures I can find…"
Murmuring to himself, Mo Yu gradually closed his eyes, and his spiritual perception seeped downward, using the bones beneath him as a medium to explore the depths of the lake.
The moment his perception entered the water, an overwhelming pressure surged from all directions, enveloping him. Under this immense force, his originally sharp perception dulled significantly, and his scanning range was reduced by nearly ninety percent.
"As expected, it's not as simple as I imagined," Mo Yu thought to himself.
Realizing this, he quickly calmed his mind. Searching for treasures required patience—if one lacked it, they would return empty-handed.
Within the icy lake water, his perception traveled along the sprawling bones, and only then did Mo Yu truly grasp the enormity of the skeleton.
Based on his rough estimation, when the Primodial Treasure Beast was alive, its body must have spanned at least tens of thousands of meters—a truly monstrous existence.
Even after perishing for countless millennia, its bones remained as solid as divine iron. Compared to them, Mo Yu's own physical body, despite its incredible strength, was still far inferior.
If these bones were not impossible to move, simply extracting them would be enough to forge countless divine artifacts.
Time passed swiftly as Mo Yu reflected on these thoughts. Before he knew it, his spiritual perception had extended along the skeleton for nearly half an hour.
However, in that time, he had only managed to explore about a thousand meters—an insignificant distance compared to the Primodial Treasure Beast's vast, tens-of-thousands-meter-long body.
But as his perception continued to extend deeper, he suddenly detected a peculiar fluctuation from a particular section of the skeleton ahead.
Mo Yu's eyebrows twitched at the discovery. His perception hurried forward, and soon, he sensed a gray dagger floating silently within the bones.
The surface of the dagger was inscribed with ancient patterns, and the blade shimmered with a faint green glow. A razor-sharp aura emanated from it, so intense that even his perception felt a slight sting.
This dagger was, without a doubt, a top-grade divine artifact.
Though its quality was impressive, Mo Yu only hesitated for a brief moment before withdrawing his perception and delving even deeper.
A top-grade divine artifact held considerable value, but it was not what he had come here for. Such a weapon was not enough to truly excite him.
If he had yet to find something truly worthwhile, then there was no need to waste time retrieving lesser treasures. He would only continue forward until he reached his goal.
With this resolve, Mo Yu's perception rapidly advanced along the skeleton. As he delved deeper, he was astonished to find that along the way, more and more powerful artifacts appeared.
Not a single one of them was lower than absolute-grade, and among them were even top-grade divine artifacts—the kind that stood at the pinnacle of their class.
One top-grade divine artifact after another passed through Mo Yu's perception. In this situation, where he could reach out and claim these priceless treasures at any moment, it would have been easy for greed to take root.
However, a sudden sense of caution arose in his heart. His mind sharpened, and he quickly eradicated any trace of greed.
The moment he did so, all the top-grade divine artifacts within his perception vanished—as if they had never existed.
"As expected… something is off."
Mo Yu's vigilance heightened. It was clear that obtaining the Primodial Treasure Beast's relics was far from simple. Everything strange he had encountered so far must have been a test left behind by the Primodial Treasure Beast itself.
If he had taken any of the artifacts earlier, he had no way of knowing what the consequences would be. But one thing was certain—he would have lost the opportunity to obtain something even greater.
With renewed determination, Mo Yu's perception pressed deeper. Just as he advanced, the surrounding bones suddenly vanished. The water around him darkened, as if he had entered an entirely different space.
Suspended in this darkness, Mo Yu remained calm. He did not sense any immediate danger, so he simply waited patiently.
It was clear that before its death, the Primodial Treasure Beast had left behind numerous safeguards to prevent greedy opportunists from plundering its relics. Everything Mo Yu had encountered so far was part of its trial.
Buzz!
The darkness trembled. Suddenly, a dazzling light erupted as a massive, thousand-meter-long torrent surged forth. Within the raging current, countless objects danced and spun, radiating an overwhelming spiritual energy.
Mo Yu extended his perception—and then, his eyes widened in shock.
The torrent was composed entirely of artifacts. And not just a handful—there were thousands upon thousands of them.
"...The Primodial Treasure Beast lives up to its name."
Mo Yu sighed in amazement. These artifacts were of exceptional quality. If they were auctioned in the Great Thousand World, their total worth would be immeasurable.
If a single faction had a Primodial Treasure Beast as a guardian, they could rise to the top in no time. After all, the Primodial Treasure Beast could not only refine divine artifacts but also craft saint artifacts.
Such a creature… was more terrifying than even a master weapon refiner.
Even Mo Yu couldn't help but covet the Primodial Treasure Beast. After all, Thunder Prison was still in its early stages, and if he could obtain a Primodial Treasure Beast, it would be like adding wings to a tiger, greatly accelerating its development.
Unfortunately, since the ancient battle between the Primodial Treasure Beast Clan and the Extraterrestrial Evil Clan, the majority of these creatures had either perished or vanished without a trace. Even though some remnants might still exist in the Great Thousand World, they were beyond Thunder Prison's reach.
Shaking his head, Mo Yu turned his gaze toward the torrential flow of divine artifacts. Moments later, his pupils suddenly contracted, and his sharp gaze locked onto the very center of the flood.
There, three radiant orbs floated, exuding an overwhelming pressure that even Mo Yu felt oppressed by.
Thousands upon thousands of divine artifacts encircled them, bowing as if they were ministers paying homage to their emperor.
Mo Yu stared blankly at the three glowing orbs, and in an instant, his heart burned with excitement. His heartbeat accelerated, his eyes blazing with fervor. The immense power radiating from them far surpassed that of Top-grade divine artifacts!
The Top-grade divine artifacts he had encountered earlier paled in comparison—like fireflies before the radiant moon.
These were undoubtedly Quasi-Saint Artifacts!
They transcended the level of divine artifacts and had stepped into the realm of Saint artifacts!
Faced with the emergence of three Quasi-Saint Artifacts, even Mo Yu couldn't remain indifferent. His usually calm eyes now burned as if they were about to ignite.
He focused his gaze on the three glowing orbs. As the light gradually faded, their true forms were revealed.
An axe, a ruler, and a mirror.
At the heart of the endless divine artifact flood, the three glowing objects hovered in silence. Their radiance was not particularly dazzling, yet compared to them, the surrounding divine artifacts seemed utterly dim—like fireflies before the full moon.
The axe was bronze in color, covered in weathered marks, as if it had once cleaved the heavens themselves, exuding an immeasurable might.
The ruler was pitch black, its surface devoid of any blemishes. The darkness it radiated felt as though it could devour all light with a single sweep.
The mirror was the oldest among them—an ancient stone mirror. Its surface was rough and unremarkable, yet it emitted an aura of profound antiquity and mystery.
Each of the three artifacts possessed an unparalleled presence. Their power far surpassed top-grade divine artifacts, marking them as true Quasi-Saint Artifacts.
Mo Yu was deeply moved by these treasures. If he could obtain even one, his combat strength would soar to unimaginable heights. Even Hei Yintian, who had once given him trouble, would be easily slain.
His normally composed eyes flickered with an intense hunger as he licked his lips. Greed surged within his heart. Facing these three Quasi-Saint Artifacts within his grasp, even an Earthly Supreme would struggle to maintain a calm demeanor.
However, just as this greed arose, Mo Yu sensed that something was amiss. Recalling his earlier wariness, his eyes flashed with contemplation. Instead of rushing forward to seize the artifacts, he stood still.
Mo Yu remained motionless, his face thoughtful. After a moment, he took a deep breath and unexpectedly sat down cross-legged, closing his eyes.
He no longer sought to claim the artifacts. Instead, he chose to meditate, calming his mind and purging himself of greed's influence.
As Mo Yu sat in quiet contemplation, his expression gradually smoothed out, and the greed that had surfaced between his brows slowly faded. His heart became tranquil, as still as a placid lake.
Time passed quietly.
At some unknown moment, Mo Yu opened his eyes. His dark pupils were now calm and deep, like an abyss without ripples. The greed from before had completely dissipated.
With a heart as still as water, Mo Yu once again looked toward the torrent of divine artifacts. But this time, what he saw was completely different.
The dazzling, brilliant flood of divine artifacts was now slowly fading away, as if everything he had seen before had been nothing but an illusion.
Mo Yu silently watched as the divine artifact flood vanished, feeling no sense of regret.
The flood dissipated—until it was completely gone.
When the illusion faded, only the three Quasi-Saint Artifacts remained, still quietly hovering in place.
Yet Mo Yu made no move to claim them. His gaze remained calm, undisturbed.
The silence stretched on for a long time. But then, suddenly, the purple-gold token on Mo Yu's body began to tremble violently, as if responding to some kind of resonance.
Noticing this, Mo Yu was momentarily stunned. After a brief pause, he took out the purple-gold token, upon which four large characters were engraved—Primordial Ancestral Ape.
The moment the purple-gold token was revealed, a beam of purple-gold light shot out from it, heading straight for the three Quasi-Saint Artifacts.
Bathed in the purple-gold light, the three Quasi-Saint Artifacts finally stirred. A brilliant glow radiated from them, and then, under Mo Yu's astonished gaze, they slowly moved toward each other before completely merging into one.
Witnessing this scene, Mo Yu's eyes finally showed a hint of emotion. The three Quasi-Saint Artifacts were undoubtedly real and not illusions. His composure had allowed him to avoid the Primodial Treasure Beast's trap, and now, his purple-gold token seemed to have activated a lingering mechanism left behind by the Primodial Treasure Beast, triggering an unexpected transformation.
Mo Yu couldn't help but feel intrigued by this final change.
The purple-gold token originated from the Primordial Ancestral Ape—one of the supreme Ancient Divine Beasts. Its status was no less than that of the Primodial Treasure Beast, and perhaps even higher.
Perhaps the remnants of the Primodial Treasure Beast had sensed something within the purple-gold token, leading to this unexpected transformation.
Under Mo Yu's intense gaze, as the three Quasi-Saint Artifacts merged, the surrounding light distorted. Moments later, the brilliance gradually faded, revealing two new objects.
They were not the axe, ruler, or mirror from before.
On the left was a seemingly ordinary black iron staff.
The staff was simple and unadorned, about three meters long. Aside from the faint aura of primal savagery emanating from it, it looked no different from an ordinary fire poker. If it were left in a corner, it would likely go unnoticed—let alone be compared to a top-grade Divine Artifact or Quasi-Saint Artifact.
On the right was something even more peculiar—an egg.
Suspended in mid-air, the beast egg was pitch black, covered in mysterious ancient patterns. It remained still, yet the faint aura it exuded carried an inexplicable sense of mystery, enough to make one's heart tremble.
Seeing these two objects, Mo Yu furrowed his brows slightly and muttered, "A staff… and a beast egg?"
