Deep within the Far East, atop a certain mountain peak—
"This time, for the Ancient Thunder Palace, our Thunder Prison has joined forces to stabilize a spatial passage, allowing our forces to enter."
Mo Yu swept his gaze around and said indifferently, "However, this kind of spatial passage cannot accommodate too many people. Therefore, the available slots are limited. Our Thunder Prison will only send an elite squad this time."
"Clone, Ling Jing, you two will lead this elite squad." Mo Yu turned toward his Clone and Qing Yanjing as he spoke.
As soon as his words fell, Mo Yu waved his hand, and a group of around fifteen elite members stepped forward from behind him.
This group consisted of both men and women, including young geniuses as well as veteran powerhouses. However, without exception, every single one of them was at the pinnacle of the Ninth Grade Supreme, just below the Earthly Supremelevel.
This was the elite squad that Thunder Prison had specially prepared for the Ancient Thunder Palace expedition. Every member had made significant contributions to Thunder Prison, and in terms of strength and loyalty, they were unquestionably reliable.
The higher-ups of Thunder Prison were not particularly surprised by Mo Yu's arrangement, as this had been planned long ago.
What did surprise them, however, was not the Clone—since it was an external incarnation of the Prison Lord—but rather, the identity of the woman named Ling Jing.
At this moment, Mo Yu also looked at Qing Yanjing, a hint of surprise flashing in his eyes. He had originally intended to wait until his Clone arrived in the Thunder Realm and activated the spatial teleportation before entering the Ancient Thunder Palace together with Qing Yanjing.
However, to his astonishment, she possessed a miraculous treasure that could suppress her cultivation to the Ninth Grade Supreme, preventing her from overwhelming the fragile space within the Ancient Thunder Palace.
Seeing this, Mo Yu simply let Qing Yanjing enter alongside his Clone. With her strength, she would be a great asset to the Clone.
"Thank you," Qing Yanjing said with a charming smile as she expressed her gratitude.
"Heh, we're allies—this is only natural," Mo Yu responded with a faint wave of his hand.
Hearing this, Qing Yanjing smiled slightly, her beautiful eyes sweeping over Mo Yu and his Clone. For some reason, Mo Yu's Clone gave her an indescribably peculiar feeling...
"Everything is ready—let's move out!"
With that, Mo Yu took the lead, transforming into a streak of light and soaring into the sky, heading straight for the deepest part of the Extreme East.
Qing Yanjing, the Wind Emperor, and the other Thunder Prison higher-ups immediately followed. After them came the Clone and the elite squad, the chosen vanguard for the Ancient Thunder Palace.
At the same time that Mo Yu and his group departed, powerful fluctuations of spiritual energy erupted across the outer region of the Far East. These overwhelming energy waves caused the very heavens and earth to tremble.
Clearly, the leaders of the top factions were making their moves.
Whoosh!
Mo Yu and his group rapidly delved deeper into the Far East. The further they advanced, the more they could feel the terrifying nature of the shattered space.
Waves of oppressive spatial storms spread outward, their rending force so fierce that it made their spiritual energy feel as though it would be torn from their bodies.
"What a tyrannical spatial rift force..."
Mo Yu's expression grew solemn. This was only the aftermath—if one were caught directly in the storm, both flesh and spiritual energy would be instantly shredded to dust.
He looked ahead, seeing the distant space beginning to fracture. Black spatial fissures stretched out like massive dragons, exuding terrifying spatial fluctuations that sent chills down the spine.
Thunder Prison's forces halted tens of thousands of feet away from an enormous spatial rift. At the same time, Mo Yu unleashed a surge of spiritual energy from his body, forming a protective barrier around his Clone and the others, shielding them from the spatial storm.
Before them lay the entrance to the Ancient Thunder Palace. Darkness surged forward like a black hole—deep and unfathomable.
If one looked closely, they could faintly see ancient halls looming within the abyss, exuding an aura of antiquity and mystery.
Mo Yu turned his head, exchanging glances with the Wind Emperor and several other Lesser Earthly Supremes. Then, they all made their move simultaneously.
Boom!
Columns of solidified spiritual energy erupted from their bodies, shooting skyward like pillars that supported the heavens before crashing into the rift.
The world trembled. The chaotic spatial storm was gradually forced apart by the immense spiritual energy, forming a temporary passage approximately ten meters wide.
"Open!" Mo Yu commanded in a low voice.
As soon as his voice fell, countless beams of spiritual energy soared into the sky. In the distance, multiple spatial fissures were forcefully torn open.
Clearly, the top factions of the Heavenly Thunder Continent were using the same method—brute force—to open paths and send their strongest combatants into the Ancient Thunder Palace. These individuals would serve as anchors, allowing more forces to descend upon the palace.
One could only imagine the fierce and brutal competition that would soon unfold within the Ancient Thunder Palace.
"Move out!" Mo Yu looked toward his Clone, Qing Yanjing, and the others, then gave the order.
The Clone nodded, wasting no time. His figure turned into a streak of light as he shot directly toward the opening in the spatial storm.
Behind him, Qing Yanjing and the elite squad followed closely, diving into the void like great eagles, disappearing in an instant.
As their figures vanished into the spatial passage, a fervent anticipation burned deep within Mo Yu's and his Clone's eyes.
Thunder Palace inheritance...
Here I come.
As soon as they entered the passage, Mo Yu's Clone and the others felt endless darkness envelop them. Savage spatial currents howled like storms, as if intent on tearing apart the passage itself.
Glancing around, the team couldn't help but feel tense. If the passage were to collapse here, their fate would be sealed.
Fortunately, they were able to breathe a little easier upon realizing that this spatial passage—constructed by Mo Yu's true body in conjunction with several Thunder Prison powerhouses—was exceptionally stable. Though it trembled and twisted, it never fully broke apart.
Thus, the team pressed forward rapidly along the passage.
Through occasional spatial fissures, glimpses of ancient lands and vast skies could be seen beyond. It was as if this space was sealing off a primeval realm.
"Stay alert," the Clone reminded, his gaze sweeping over the group.
Hearing this, everyone nodded solemnly. Although they didn't fully understand the relationship between Mo Yu's true body and his Clone, being chosen for this vanguard mission meant they were utterly loyal to Mo Yu and Thunder Prison.
Faced with Mo Yu's clone, the experts still maintained the same reverence and submission as if they were in the presence of the Prison Lord himself.
Seeing this, Mo Yu nodded slightly before casting a sidelong glance at Qing Yanjing, who remained calm and composed. His eyes flickered briefly.
Through his connection with his main body, he had naturally learned of her identity—Qing Yanjing, the leader of the Qing lineage of the Ancient Buddha Clan and the mother of Mu Chen.
It was quite unexpected that, despite having arrived in the Great Thousand World only a few years ago, he would already encounter such a significant figure. Even his clone couldn't help but feel a moment of sentiment.
However, he quickly refocused his thoughts. Though Qing Yanjing would undoubtedly become a renowned figure in the Great Thousand World in the future, Mo Yu himself had no intention of remaining obscure.
"We're almost there."
Mo Yu turned his gaze toward the spatial tunnel ahead. The turbulence of space gradually settled, and faint white rings of light appeared at the tunnel's exit.
As his words fell, the tunnel rapidly propelled them forward. The white glow at its end engulfed them, and they emerged on the other side.
The darkness receded from their vision in an instant. Their eyes narrowed briefly to adjust before instinctively sweeping over their surroundings.
They stood atop a hill, enveloped in a deathly silence. The entire world seemed devoid of life, yet an ancient aura permeated the air.
The desolate expanse was filled with the primal force of thunder and wilderness. The sky remained dim, and the unstable space occasionally cracked open, revealing jagged void fissures.
Before them, the land stretched far and wide. In the distance, mountains jutted skyward, adorned with faintly discernible ancient palaces.
Further beyond, islands of lightning seemed to hover in midair, though they bore signs of desolation, as if untouched for countless ages.
This place had clearly lain dormant for tens of thousands of years.
"So, this is the Ancient Thunder Palace…"
Mo Yu sighed inwardly before shifting his gaze to Qing Yanjing with a faint smile. "Does Miss Ling Jing have any suggestions? If not, shall we proceed? Based on my estimation, this should only be the outer perimeter of the palace."
Qing Yanjing gently shook her head and replied softly, "The Ancient Thunder Palace has been lost for millennia. I am not too familiar with it. Besides, you are the leader of this expedition. I will follow your commands."
Though she sensed something unusual about Mo Yu's clone, her vast experience kept her from voicing any speculation. Instead, she concealed her thoughts and observed quietly.
Mo Yu, seeing her response, did not press further. He took a moment to determine their direction before shooting toward the distant mountain peaks where the ancient palaces stood.
The rest of the group swiftly followed.
As they flew, their gazes swept across the terrain below, and their expressions tensed.
Only now did they realize that the ground beneath them was scarred with bottomless chasms, their gaping darkness carving the land into a jagged, broken domain.
These were not natural formations but remnants of an ancient, cataclysmic battle. The sheer devastation spoke of an apocalyptic conflict that once raged here.
Scattered ruins of ancient cities could be seen, though every one of them had been utterly destroyed. With nothing left intact, Mo Yu and his team saw no reason to descend for further investigation.
After nearly half an hour of high-speed travel, they finally reached the mountains. As they landed atop a peak, they noticed other figures appearing on nearby summits.
Clearly, other factions had also arrived.
Yet, before any of them had ascertained the dangers of this place, no one dared to act rashly. A tenuous balance of vigilance and restraint settled between the groups.
Retracting his gaze, Mo Yu turned toward the ruins of an ancient hall before them. Scattered across the entrance lay skeletal remains.
Each skeleton seemed frozen in a posture of looking up in horror. Their hollow eye sockets still bore traces of fear, as though they had witnessed something terrifying descending from the sky.
"This should be one of the defensive outposts of the Ancient Thunder Palace."
Mo Yu's expression turned solemn as he looked toward the sky. If his guess was correct, then in ancient times, the Extraterritorial Evil Clan had likely invaded from this very place, launching their assault against the Ancient Thunder Palace and the entire Heavenly Thunder Continent.
After a brief moment of contemplation, he crouched down and noticed a glint of light within one of the skeletal hands. Carefully prying the bony fingers apart, he uncovered a thunder-inscribed token.
Grasping it, he examined the token's intricate carvings. At its center, a streak of azure lightning was faintly visible.
"A Azure Thunder Token?"
Mo Yu's eyes flickered as he prepared to examine it more closely. However, before he could do so, the token crumbled into dust, dispersing into the wind.
Startled, he turned his gaze toward the other skeletons and found that they, too, clutched similar tokens. However, unlike the one he had just held, the rest bore only a white lightning inscription.
"They seem to signify rank." Qing Yanjing, standing nearby, remarked insightfully.
Mo Yu nodded in agreement. Judging by the skeletal remains, the owner of the Blue Thunder Token had been significantly stronger than those who possessed White Thunder Tokens.
With only limited clues to work with, the rest of the group searched the ruins but found nothing else of value.
Yet Mo Yu was far from discouraged. Instead, he looked into the distance and smiled. "It seems we're headed in the right direction."
Before them, mountains stretched endlessly, shrouded in mystery. In the far distance, the silhouettes of even more ancient thunder palaces could be faintly seen.
"Let's go."
Without hesitation, Mo Yu and his team picked up their pace, racing deeper into the mountain range. He could sense a subtle fluctuation of spiritual energy emanating from the depths ahead.
As they accelerated, the landscape below blurred beneath them. Soon, in the vast sky ahead, islands of lightning began to emerge, suspended in the air.
This was no longer the mere outskirts.
They were finally approaching the true heart of the Ancient Thunder Palace.
