"You're saying that Kazuo Hyuga has openly defected and whilst doing so he attacked the Hyuga clan?" The masked man asked, his voice tinged in slight confusion and curiosity as he looked at Zetsu who had appeared before him.
"That's right Madara. He's currently flying in this direction whilst escaping the Konoha hunting team, though as he is alone and not in that great of a physical condition, I'm assuming that he will be caught, the chasing team consists of Fugaku Uchiha, Obito Uchiha, Kakashi Uchiha, Rin Nohara aswell as Jiraya of the Sanin." Zetsu replied in his inhuman dark sounding voice as he nodded his head.
"I see… well then it seems like we will have to help our new recruit. He's proving to be more than valuable enough." The masked man said as he got up from the chair where he had been sitting.
"Do you need help?" Nagato asked as he looked at him.
"No, I should be more than enough to cause a long enough distraction for him to escape, and they won't be able to actually damage me." The masked man replied as his body slowly started turning into a white fog.
"Tell him to arrive at the border between the land of fire and rain." The masked man said before his body fully turned into smoke that rushed out of the room and into the outside sky, flying at immense speeds towards the border.
Zetsu who had been inside didn't even voice his reply as he simply started fusing with the ground underneath him.
Meanwhile inside Konoha in the land of fire, a quick meeting was being held.
"You're saying Kazuo Hyuga has defected." Minato said his voice low as he faced Hiashi Hyuga, the Hyuga Patriarch.
"Yes, we have yet to know the complete death count however nine of the Hyuga elders have been killed." Hiashi replied in a low serious voice, his hands were clearly still shaking from anger.
"Hiashi, do you wish to participate in the search yourself?" Minato asked seriously as he instantly formed hand seals at Kakashi and Obito who were now his personal anbu.
Instantly Kakashi appeared behind him whilst Obito was body flickering away towards the Uchiha Compound.
"Yes, the byakugan will be a great help in the search, I will do my best to catch the deserter both for my Clan and the village." Hiashi replied, his face a mask of pure ice as he gave a nod.
It didn't take more than five minutes since the explosion had happened when the entire hunting team was gathered.
Hiashi Hyuga, Fugaku Uchiha, Obito Uchiha, Kakashi Hatake, Nohara Rin aswell as Jiraya of the Sannin who had decided to join last minute.
"Bring him back alive. He could possibly have important information in relation to the nine tails attack." Minato ordered before all six ninja vanished with their body flickers, quickly heading towards the exit of the village.
Each of them were High Jounin if not Kage level ninja and were in their best condition in comparison to Kazuo who was still recovering and only had access to Chunin level reserves.
"Why… why would Kazuo." Rin murmured to herself, unshed tears could be seen shining in her eyes.
"I don't know… i really never thought." Obito replied as he used the body flicker next to her.
"He didn't seem like the type to do something like this, maybe he is under the genjutsu of that attacker?" Kakashi wondered aloud as he followed them.
"No, it's most likely him and not a genjutsu, you were never told about it however Kazuo has been under suspicion for a long while even before he joined team seven, in fact he as allowed to join your team because he was under suspicion and the third hokage decided to put Minato as his monitor." Jiraya spoke at this moment as the entire group continued on their way.
Hiashi was at the front with his byakugan active, having already caught sight of Kazuo dozens of kilometers away.
"I have sight, he's flying in the air, at this rate we wont be able to catch him however he should be getting tired soon, his chakra reserves are low." Hiashi spoke calmly, having already controlled his emotions as he continued using the body flicker to the best of his abilities.
"What do you mean he was under suspicion Jiraya-sama?" Kakashi asked, his voice tinged with confusion.
"There were just too many coincidences, at first it was mainly the fact that he was being actively hunted by Danzo and his root, these shinobi were killed over and over without rhyme or reason and Kazuo always had a justification or an alibi on what happened. Sarutobi always had his suspicions that it had been Kazuo who had attacked and eliminated these shinobi. Besides that there is also the major increase in his strength and the appearance of jutsu and kekke genkai that he shouldn't have unless he had hidden them since birth. Kazuo was an orphan, that wouldn't be suspicious if not for the fact that from his files, the orphanage that he was apart of was a root orphanage, meaning they would have most likely checked his talents and chakra levels from early on. Thus the only option is that he was a spy who infiltrated the village from a young age, from the orphanage." Jiraya replied as he quickly explained his suspicions to the group.
"I see… so he has always been under the eye of the third and now this has happened." Fukagu replied as he gave a nod of his head, though his eyes clearly told that he knew Jiraya was not telling the entire story.
'He also has the signs of a dojutsu… just who are you Kazuo? Was… any of the time we were together even real?' Team seven thought inwardly as they continued the chase of their former team mate.
