The announcer's voice boomed across the stadium with great energy. "That's the end of the spectacular match. Who would have thought that Sabrina would have given such a tough fight to Gladion. At one point of the match she was well ahead of him."
"But Gladion had a surprise in the form of some new Pokemon and then he also had his reliable Colossus to finish the job." The crowd cheered loudly as they remembered the exciting ups and downs of the battle.
Many fans stood up and clapped for both trainers. The announcer continued speaking with excitement in his tone. "But I was more pumped to see two mega evolution Pokemon fight against each other for the first time. That was some real power they had. Is mega evolution the next big thing in Pokemon battles? My gut says yes because I have not seen a much cooler thing than a mid fight transformation."
He paused for a moment and then added with a laugh, "It almost reminds me of that show where the people start shouting and then they transform with different hair colours or bigger hair. You know the one. They yell really loud, their hair turns yellow or pink, and suddenly they can destroy mountains. I half expected Colossus to start screaming about justice or friendship before he mega evolved. Maybe next time we will see trainers with glowing hair too. Hahaha."
The announcer laughed heartily at his own joke. The crowd joined in with loud laughter and applause.
"Anyways folks, let us welcome Sabrina as the new gym leader of Kanto," the announcer said warmly. "I believe that she is qualified enough to both teach the challengers challenging her gym as well as protecting the region after seeing today's match."
The stadium erupted in cheers once more. People waved flags and called out Sabrina's name. It was a proud moment for her as she received recognition for her strong performance.
On the arena in the middle, Gladion walked up to Sabrina with a tired but happy smile. "That was fun," he said as they both shook hands firmly.
Sabrina smiled back at him and then turned the handshake into a gentle hug. She pulled him close for a moment in front of everyone. The crowd whistled and cheered at the sweet moment between the two gym leaders.
"Yeah what was that about dominate me? You can't be saying stuff like that in the middle of a match," Gladion said, feeling embarrassed. His face turned slightly red as he remembered her telepathic words during the battle.
Sabrina pulled back from the hug but kept her hands on his shoulders. She looked at him with a playful smile. "Well, it was just me trying to confirm how much you love me and how much you deserve to have me. And you passed the test. You were so strong.....that I could not escape your clutches....monster." She said the last part in a low, flirty voice while tracing a finger down his chest
. Her eyes sparkled with mischief as she leaned in closer. "You big, scary monster who pins down poor little psychics like me. What will you do with me now that you have won? Will you carry me off to your cave like a true alpha? Or maybe tie me up with your strong arms so I can never run away again?" Sabrina's voice turned even more teasing and a bit creepy in a funny way.
She pretended to shiver, "Oh no, I am trapped by the big bad Colossus trainer. Save me someone. Or maybe I do not want to be saved. Maybe I like being dominated by someone so powerful." She winked at him and laughed softly, making the moment both flirty and silly at the same time. Gladion's face grew even redder as he looked around to see if anyone was close enough to hear her playful words.
Gladion shivered at those words and stepped back a little. "You do remember that you were the one that asked me out?" he said with a small laugh.
"Yes but it was you who asked me for the first date after rejecting me," Sabrina replied with a smirk. She enjoyed teasing him about their relationship story. It was a funny memory for both of them now that they were together.
"Well anyways, I will be off to get my Pokemon healed. See you at dinner," Sabrina said. She gave him one last quick hug before she teleported away in a flash of psychic energy. Gladion looked at the empty air where she had been standing and chuckled to himself. He shook his head with amusement and decided to walk off the stadium as he had some free time on his hands.
As he walked through the stadium's hallway, Agatha came towards him from the other direction. The experienced Elite Four member had a serious look on her face. She asked directly, "Was that.....?"
"Yes that was grandpa's Rhydon," Gladion answered calmly. "I named him Rocky by the way. He wanted to come back to fighting. I decided to give him some boost in the form of a new evolution." He spoke about giving the Pokemon a powerful new evolution as if it was not a big deal at all. Agatha looked thoughtful as she listened to him.
"I see....what about his Venusaur?" she asked next.
"Venusaur is just happy watching over the gym ranch and the house," Gladion said. Agatha nodded slowly and then walked off without saying anything else.
Gladion watched her go and mumbled to himself, "Weird old lady. Did not even say bye." He continued walking out of the arena for a peaceful walk to clear his mind after the long battle.
As he was walking outside the stadium, his psychic sense suddenly picked up something dangerous. He dodged quickly to the side just as a poison dart flew past his head and stuck into a nearby wall.
Gladion looked around carefully and realized he was completely surrounded by people in black uniforms. A strong psychic barrier was in place around the area to stop him from escaping or teleporting out. The barrier glowed faintly and trapped him inside with the mysterious group.
Gladion looked up at the sky and saw a woman floating there on top of an Alpha Salamence. The large dragon Pokemon looked powerful and fierce, just like his own alpha Tyranitar.
The woman had a confident and dangerous smile on her face. "If it is not Hunter J from Sinnoh," Gladion said with a soft smile.
