Instincts took over as Shaw raised his gun. I sped out and got mom out of the way. I carried her out of the prison and flew. I heard bullets fly and I felt my friends die. I took her to the citadel and laid down weeping for the losing my friends but at least mom was with me. Uncle J walked out to see what was happening. He escorted me and mom towards the back garden. I sat on a helicopter with him and he ordered the pilot to take off. I asked if I could take a few things and he gave me five minutes. It took me a moment to realise I had nothing but mom so I sat down without a word. When I was seated and the belt was strapped in the pilot pushed several buttons and we had lift off. The prison was blown to bits. The pilot diverted towards the military base. We sat in a military plane and it took off towards the Mojave desert. Once we were inside the others requested an introduction. He explained that I was his niece and he introduced mom too. Everyone has brought a family we were his. Soldiers were standing still as we were escorted to the lower levels. We stepped out into a conveyor belt which took us to the lab. The doctor explained that at the present time the only way to attain immortality was transforming into a werewolf. Once they find a way to remove any sort of weaknesses this will have to do. I opted out. Uncle J explained that I can inject it later. I just need to take it all in.
I took a deep breath and explained that I already injected myself so I don't need a second shot. He realised I wasn't sick anymore so he asked me if I did it before I came to his house. I nodded my head and he smiled. I explained that the army tried to kill mom because of me. He promised that no one would hurt us here. The others concurred. I requested permission to explore. The scientist wanted to confirm my change so I changed into the hybrid. When I changed I explained that I am a hybrid. A mix of vampire and werewolf. I have their strengths and none of their weaknesses. To prove my point I pulled out a silver chain. The doctor confirmed it and I wrapped it around my arm. I didn't burn. The doctor exposed me to ultraviolet light and I was fine. The scientist was told to leave me alone. Another lab coat came with the air of importance. She was followed by several robots hauling crates with different labels on it. She calmly explained that the crates had special syringes which inject a chip the size of a grain of rice. They were labelled accordingly. A few were for the scientists. An entire crate was labelled especially for military personnel. One was labelled just the other. One crate which says the chosen. The last one is alpha.
Uncle J opened the alpha crate and asked the nearest one to inject me with it. The woman in the lab coat protested. She explained that means I can go anywhere I want and no one can stop me. She explained that children are not allowed this status. They get a different chip called the hall pass. Uncle J ignored her as he inserted the syringe in the middle of my palm and squeezed the trigger. I gasped in pain as I felt something was shoved into me with high velocity. I took the syringe and ordered the nearest person to destroy it immediately. He complied without hesitation. Any DNA residue of mine was eliminated. I took a syringe from the chosen crate and injected mom. A lady in her forties protested. My uncle J casually explained that science has advanced quickly so there will be no need to extract anything from me. She claimed to be the best so prove how she is. A few in the crowd stared at me blankly as I walked out through another door. I was taken down a corridor before taking another elevator. I was taken to the recreation centre. All my clothes were burned and I got new ones. I slipped on a bathing suit and jumped into the pool. It was larger than the one used in the last Olympic games. I was taking laps when an orderly walked in. A quick change and I was taken to a room. It had a long table filled with people smelling like entitlement.
Uncle J was at the end of the table like he was the king. I noticed mom was behind him and she looked a little different but still herself. I also noticed some of the people who were in the lab a few hours ago weren't here. I stood behind him and he spoke with authority, "To those who survived the change welcome to a new world order. To those that didn't. Well good riddance." The audience laughed menacingly as they applauded. Mom and I stood still as they assessed me. A man in his fifties asked why I was here. Uncle J explained that I am his niece and a hybrid so I am supposed to be here. The only soldier present wanted to assert dominance. He changed into a werewolf and growled at me. I avoided changing my appearance. I commanded him with a sense of boredom to change back and break his own arm. He changed back and slammed his arm on the table as hard as he possibly could. He screamed as it hung limp. The others stared at me with interest. One of them was someone who looked like he was calculating. I asked him to choose his words carefully since I could ask him to snap his own neck and there is no recovery from that. He rearranged his composure and stared at table. I gave a low growl and he looked the other way. Uncle J laughed. The soldier changed back to werewolf and a few minutes later he healed. He didn't try anything again. I asked if I could return to the pool. He waved me off and I left at torpedo speed. I heard murmurs and protests but I tuned it out as I took a dip.
After a few thousand laps I decided to get something to eat. I walked out and asked the AI if there was anything I could eat. He gave me directions to the mess hall. I got thin slices of raw beef, raw eggs, blood sausages and oysters. I sat down to The drooler came to watch me. He was wondering if he could get a sample. I explained that I like being one of a kind. He wanted to say something but I used hypnosis and he walked away. I quietly ate the stuff and got a refill. Mom walked in and she ate quietly too. I asked her what happened and she smiled at me. She was happy we were safe. She was concerned about the place. I didn't care if we were in a hut or a cave as long as mom was here. She stared at me and she could sense my honesty so she gave me a hug. After eating we went exploring. I used the chip to explore the entire facility. So I know where to go if things get ugly. The one thing I noticed was the absence of zombies or zombie making laboratories. Instead there were labs trying to remove any weaknesses the werewolves had. So far the results were catastrophic. I happily took mom everywhere. We watched movies and she went to sleep in her assigned room. I stood still as the ventilation introduced some sort of chemical. I held my breath as it circulated. I simply pressed a button to expel it. I looked at the camera on the corner to explain that I haven't slept a wink since I changed into this thing so do better than that.
