"How's the situation?"
As Kalia approached, she noticed another Trainer already asking questions. If her guess was correct, these individuals who had just disembarked from the Pokemon were likely residents of Westsea Island.
"The current situation is dire."
A Trainer who arrived early and had completed their inquiry shook their head. The people were extremely agitated, making it difficult to understand them clearly; it took considerable effort to grasp the full extent of the crisis.
Kyogre had emerged from the depths of the Westsea, heading towards Cyan and Westsea Towns. With few inhabitants in Westsea Town, Cyan Town faced the greatest danger.
It was crucial to evacuate all residents of Cyan Town back to the mainland immediately, lest they be engulfed by the rising sea and lost forever.
As more Trainers arrived, news about Cyan Town spread rapidly. Without much discussion, numerous Trainers released their Flying-type Pokemon.
"Have them follow these Pokemon back, bringing as many people as possible with them. This way, we can save more lives."
Various Flying-type Pokémon emerged, such as Swellow, Staraptor, Pidgeot, and other commonly found flying species. They soared into the sky, obeying their Trainers' commands, and followed the initial fifteen Flying-type Pokémon towards Cyan Town.
Of course, not all trainers were willing to involve their Pokémon in the rescue mission. Once separated from their trainers, any encountered danger could prevent them from returning to their Poké Balls.
As a result, several trainers silently blended into the crowd, choosing not to participate with their Pokémon, merely observing from afar.
There were many such trainers; not everyone in the world is inherently kind-hearted, and goodness is not a determining factor for becoming a mid- or high-level Trainer.
"Charizard, you go quickly too," Kalia urged Lian, recognizing his speed would enable him to save more people amidst this urgent situation.
No one knew when Kyogre might reach Cyan Town, and if the rescue efforts weren't completed swiftly, it would be catastrophic.
Lian immediately took flight, soaring upwards. He didn't know the direction of Cyan Town, having never been to Westsea before, but while he was uncertain, those fifteen leading Pokémon knew the way.
Lian swiftly flew towards the leading Swellow, quickly catching up and asked, "Which direction is Cyan Town?"
As a former human, Lian shared Kalia's sentiment; he couldn't bear to witness lives fading away. Whenever possible, he would strive to save as many individuals as he could within his capabilities.
The Swellow was taken aback, as Pokemon rarely initiated communication among themselves unless they had close bonds or spent daily time together.
"It's that way," replied the Swellow. Pokemon are highly intelligent, and being a swift Flying-type, this Swellow naturally possessed excellent directional sense.
Honestly, this Swellow's speed wasn't bad, but it paled in comparison to Lian. With his speed ability value surpassing 2,000, it far outmatched the Swellow's base stat of just 120 for speed.
"No more chitchat. Hop on my back, you point the way," Lian asserted firmly, grabbing the Swellow instantly.
While each individual Pokemon has limited strength, Lian commanded over seventy Flying-type Pokémon. With each rescue mission, they could potentially save more than seventy people from peril.
"You useless lot! Fly faster and keep up with me!" Lian shouted at the sluggish Pokemon behind him, his words filled with disdain and mockery.
He aimed to ignite their competitive spirit, creating a race-like atmosphere. Without direct guidance from Trainers, this would motivate them to fly at full speed.
By doing so, they could rescue more people instead of leisurely flying as they were now, which would waste precious time reaching Cyan Town.
Lian's taunts undoubtedly enraged the other Pokemon. Although he didn't possess the Taunt move, his words served a similar purpose.
Some hot-tempered Pokemon immediately chased after Lian, but given his incredible speed, none managed to catch up.
Holding onto the Swellow, Lian flew at full throttle while the Swellow navigated, swiftly widening the gap between themselves and the group of Pokemon trailing behind.
Thanks to Lian's provocation, all the Pokemon accelerated significantly. Even those typically laid-back now exerted their maximum effort, driven by the competitive instinct shared among Pokemon.
Lian felt immensely satisfied; his own strength was limited, and successfully executing the rescue plan relied heavily on the collective efforts of these Pokemon.
At that moment, the residents of Cyan Town were anxiously awaiting help. Witnessing others being evacuated by Pokemon while they remained stranded understandably caused unease among them.
The torrential rain continued to intensify, yet no townspeople sought shelter indoors. Instead, they stood outside, enduring the downpour, fearing they might miss their chance for rescue if they stayed inside. For them, getting soaked paled in comparison to risking their lives.
The twelve Trainers shared this growing anxiety as Kyogre drew closer, with many people still unable to leave Cyan Town.
Amidst their apprehension, a fiery red silhouette emerged from the distant horizon, resembling a blazing inferno amidst the gloomy sky, unmistakably visible.
It was Lian, accompanied by numerous Flying-type Pokemon closely following him, arriving at the island of Cyan Town.
"They're here!"
"So many flying type Pokemon!"
"The League's rescue has arrived!"
Tears of joy streamed down their faces, overwhelmed with relief. Initially, only twenty Pokemon had set out, but now over fifty additional Flying-type Pokemon returned, clearly indicating their purpose for assistance.
Seeing the people on the island, Lian released his Swellow, swiftly descending towards the ground, followed by the other Flying-type Pokémon.
Under their Trainers' orders to evacuate civilians, no further instructions were needed from Lian. The residents of Cyan Town eagerly climbed onto the backs of these Pokémon.
However, some temperamental Pokémon resisted strangers riding them and even attacked Lian upon landing, likely due to his earlier provocations.
Lian didn't hesitate, immediately launching a Dragon Pulse that sent the defiant Pokémon flying, instantly taming them.
Surveying the scene, most Pokémon already had passengers, with larger ones carrying up to two individuals each. Without their Trainers present, Lian's display of power served as a deterrent, gaining their cooperation. He decided to temporarily take charge, as relying solely on these Pokémon would be inefficient.
"Listen to me! Follow my lead!" Lian shouted. Two children quickly climbed onto his back, and he soared into the sky, acting as the leader guiding this group of Flying-type Pokémon along the return route.
