"Hey there, isn't that Champion Botaya of the Sebas region? Looking quite disheveled, aren't we!"
Botaya halted, causing the numerous Trainers behind him to stop as well, turning their attention towards the speaker and the group accompanying them.
Facing the newcomer, Botaya questioned sternly, "Kyogre awakened, yet you arrive so late? We had to rescue Cyan Town's residents ourselves! Is this how the Ellie region operates?"
The individual addressing them was Timon, the Champion of the Ellie region. At that moment, Timon led a contingent of Ellie region Trainers, arriving as reinforcements to halt Kyogre. However, due to delayed information, they were significantly tardy.
Behind Timon stood only a handful of mid-to-high-level Trainers from the Ellie region, notably fewer compared to the Sebas delegation. Just over thirty high-level trainers were present, with many notable absences. Additionally, there were around two hundred mid-level trainers following them.
The Ellie region consistently had more mid-level trainers compared to the Sebas region, but their numbers were similar for high-level trainers.
Ellie's training culture focused on developing strong mid-level Trainers, often neglecting other aspects of Pokemon cultivation. This oversight hindered their progress towards becoming high-level trainers.
With insufficient potential and power in their Pokemon, they couldn't naturally advance beyond the mid-level stage, resulting in a significant bottleneck compared to the Sebas region.
"Well, thank you then. But what brings you here? Did Kyogre scare you off?" Timon acknowledged his region's mistake; it was indeed their oversight that left the Sebas region cleaning up after them.

Despite noticing over fifty high-level Trainers among those behind Botaya, clearly indicating Kyogre's immense power—so formidable that such a strong lineup might still struggle—Timon remained stubborn. He wanted firsthand experience of Kyogre's might, believing that if Botaya and his team could escape unscathed, he and the Ellie region's trainers should also manage the same.

"Even if you're a Champion, don't underestimate us! Your Sebas mid-level trainers can't hold a candle to ours. If they face no danger, we certainly won't either!" exclaimed a mid-level Trainer from the Ellie region loudly. The Ellie region's Trainers were known for their fiery tempers, and even Botaya's status as regional Champion didn't deter them from voicing their dissent.
Botaya had a calm temperament and chose not to respond further. If Timon wouldn't listen, there was nothing more he could say—it was ultimately an issue within the Ellie region.
Tensions between the two regions already existed, exacerbated by past incidents like the Exchange Competition debacle, which deeply embarrassed the Ellie region's Trainers.
"We'll wait for you on the West Coast," Botaya said, turning towards Timon. He knew that Timon would undoubtedly be shocked by Kyogre's immense power and opt to abandon the island.
At that point, it would be crucial to unite both regions to halt Kyogre—a necessity, given how challenging it would be for a single region to prevent Kyogre's invasion onto land.
