Chapter 359 - Chapter 359: Flickering Anxiety

As Lian watched Timon lead the Ellie region Trainers away, he had a strong feeling that they were heading for significant trouble.

Earlier, Kyogre was not enraged, but now it was in a state of fury. The group from the Ellie region would likely become its immediate target to vent anger upon.

Lian felt a sense of schadenfreude, knowing this situation didn't concern him at all. Whether it was the Ellie region or Sebas region, neither held any emotional attachment for him. As just a Pokemon, his primary focus remained on Kalia, with no complex social ties or troublesome matters to handle.

His daily routine consisted of training, eating, and enjoying life - exactly the carefree existence he desired, devoid of worries.

Suddenly, Lian experienced a peculiar sensation. He instinctively lifted his head and looked towards the Ellie region Trainers, specifically focusing on one Trainer riding a Charizard.

At that precise moment, the opposing Charizard also turned to gaze back at Lian, their eyes meeting instantly.

Although the other Charizard appeared significantly smaller than Lian, it was still larger compared to average Charizards; however, Lian's size itself was quite exceptional among them.

Lian curiously studied that Charizard, noticing a scar on its forehead, suggesting it had survived a potentially fatal injury; ordinary wounds wouldn't leave such a mark.

He couldn't quite understand the connection but felt that this scarred Charizard might have some relation to him. Previously, he had learned that he could be from the Ellie region since Sebas did not typically have Charizards.

However, at that moment, there was no opportunity to inquire further. Although all Charizards looked similar to Lian, he took note of this particular one. If time allowed, he could ask about it later; perhaps there truly is a connection between them.

The Trainer of that Charizard appeared to be a mid-level trainer, positioned towards the back of the group, with an unremarkable appearance.

If the Trainers from the Ellie region retreated, both regions might join forces, giving Lian a chance to approach and ask questions.

While Lian didn't particularly care about his origins, something in that brief glance suggested that even if he didn't seek answers, they would likely come looking for him eventually. With his distinctive size, it seemed inevitable that their paths would cross sooner or later.

There must be a connection between them, although unlikely as father and son; the most probable relationship would be siblings.

"Charizard, what's wrong?" Kalia gently tapped Lian, sensing his Charizard seemed distracted. They were veering off course and almost flying outside the group.

Lian quickly refocused, returning to the formation, and continued flying without dwelling on it further, knowing overthinking wouldn't help.

As Botaya led the Sebas Trainers towards land, Timon guided the Ellie Trainers toward Kyogre's location.

Within their group, the Trainer with the ordinary-looking Charizard displayed a puzzled expression. For some reason, during that brief eye contact, he felt a sense of familiarity with Lian.

Lian stood out significantly due to his towering height, nearly two meters taller than most Charizards, making him impossible to overlook.

Soon, both groups reached the West Sea, entering the heart of the storm, and caught sight of Kyogre from afar.

"That's Kyogre, incredibly massive."

Timon observed Kyogre, resembling a colossal beast lurking beneath the sea, instilling a sense of awe and fear.

However, this did not deter Timon; instead, he led the Trainers resolutely toward Kyogre.

After some time:

"Oh no, it's all over!"

Timon's face turned pale as he watched Trainers plummeting into the sea one by one, filled with deep regret.

"Stop fighting! Focus on rescuing everyone and immediately evacuate!" Timon roared, completely devoid of his earlier confidence. All he wanted now was to retreat, deeply regretting not heeding Botaya's warning and involving mid-level trainers in this battle.

From the onset, Kyogre seemed fueled like dynamite. Before they could even launch their attacks, Kyogre unleashed Origin Pulse without hesitation.

The outcome was predictable; faced with the intense cyan beams from Origin Pulse, the unprepared and inexperienced Trainers were instantly struck down.

Most of the Trainers' Pokemon fell victim, getting instantly defeated. Although the mid-level trainers from the Ellie region had somewhat stronger Pokemon, their capabilities were still limited.

In Kyogre's eyes, such minor differences held no significance; being hit by those cyan beams invariably led to instant defeat.

As if history was repeating itself, but worse than the Sebas region, casualties seemed highly probable in Ellie.

Many mid-level trainers lost their Pokemon's combat capabilities, plummeting into the ocean, with some directly hit by the cyan beams, leaving their fate uncertain.

Unlike Botaya and his team, the Trainers from Ellie were not as fortunate; numerous Trainers fell into the sea, at least half of them disappearing beneath the waves.

The remaining few, overwhelmed and unable to assist others, hastily retreated toward the island, abandoning any thoughts of rescue efforts.

Only a small group had the capability to save others, yet Kyogre continued unleashing its moves, making it perilous for anyone to intervene without risking direct hits themselves.

They found themselves in an extremely dangerous situation, rendering the possibility of avoiding casualties almost impossible.

Timon deeply regretted the circumstances and could no longer focus on anything else. He released all available rescue-capable Pokemon and urged others to do the same, prioritizing immediate assistance.

At this moment, the group in the Ellie region appeared even more disheveled than Botaya's team earlier, their minds chaotic, unable to remain composed.

Meanwhile, on the West Coast.

Lian felt a sudden unease, inexplicably experiencing a foreboding sensation.

He abruptly looked towards the direction of the West Sea. If something ominous was happening, it could only concern the group of Trainers from the Ellie region.

They must have already witnessed Kyogre's immense power. If they disregarded Botaya's advice and still allowed mid-level trainers to engage, the outcome would be predictable.

Among them was possibly the Charizard with whom Lian had some connection, although its nature remained unclear.

Could it be in danger? But how could that be? It seemed too far-fetched. In Psychic-type Pokemon, telepathic connections between individuals can indeed occur, allowing them to sense each other's thoughts and feelings.

However, Lian is just a Charizard.

Suddenly, the unsettling feeling intensified again, causing him to shudder sharply as it grew overwhelming.

Lian felt compelled to investigate further. In that brief moment, he sensed impending danger, fleeting yet unsettling.

He decided to head towards the West Sea immediately. Glancing at Kalia, surrounded by Sebas's Trainers, she appeared safe for now.

Truthfully, Lian didn't usually concern himself with familial ties, but this sudden sensation spurred him into action - it was truly peculiar.

Boom!

Lian soared into the sky, accelerating rapidly with a thunderous sound, as if teleporting hundreds of meters instantaneously.

"Charizard!" Startled by the noise, Kalia realized her Charizard had just flown off and hastily called out.

However, Lian was already far away.

Confused and worried, Kalia knew her Charizard wouldn't leave without reason; clearly, it was heading towards the West Sea. Nonetheless, she remained confident that her Charizard would return.
