However, with more than forty Genesects, each comparable to a legendary Pokémon, facing off against just a dozen Flying-types, they held a significant advantage. Victory was only a matter of time.
"Kentra deliberately chose the rooftop as the battleground, preventing us from deploying all our Pokémon," one frustrated high-level Trainer lamented helplessly.
With most mid-to-high level Trainers from the Ellie region at the West Sea, their overall combat strength was significantly diminished, allowing the Dark Guild to seize this opportunity.
Currently, Timon, along with many other high-level Trainers, was engaged against Kyogre, unable to return anytime soon. Only a handful remained behind.
"What should we do now? Continuing like this, we can't match these Pokémon."

"Maybe we should retreat for now," another Trainer proposed. With these purple Pokémon on the side of the Dark Guild, victory seemed unattainable. Continuing the battle would only lead to certain defeat.
"Let's withdraw then."
Feeling helpless, the seventeen high-level trainers acknowledged that this was the Dark Guild's territory from the start, putting them immediately on the defensive, losing any initial advantage.
In reality, if the battle had taken place on the ground, combining the forces of all seventy to eighty Pokémon under the control of these seventeen trainers, they might have stood a chance against the purple Pokémon.
However, Kentra chose his position wisely, waiting atop the skyscraper, preventing the trainers from deploying additional Pokémon. At such heights, releasing more Pokémon would leave them nowhere to land securely, as the entire building was already dominated by Genesects.
Making their decision swiftly, during a brief pause in Genesect's attacks, the seventeen high-level trainers quickly recalled their Pokémon using Poké Balls to avoid certain defeat.
"Let's move."
The trainers were not concerned about potential pursuit from the Dark Guild; it was unlikely, as engaging them on the ground would shift the advantage to the trainers' side. With all seventeen high-level Trainers deploying their main Pokémon simultaneously, the outcome would be vastly different.
Kentra was fully aware of this fact.
He could only watch as the seventeen Trainers departed, realizing that the Dark Guild's power still fell short. Although Genesect was formidable, the Pokémon trained by the Pokemon League's elite trainers were no weaklings either.
"With Kyogre present, the Ellie region can't gather many high-level trainers; at most, they'll have mid-level ones. Given time, the Dark Guild will undoubtedly establish its dominance here," Kentra smiled, acknowledging the victory achieved by forcing back these seventeen high-level trainers.
However, it wasn't enough. This success relied solely on the advantageous position, preventing the opposing trainers from unleashing their full strength. Otherwise, confronting the combined forces of seventeen trainers and their Pokémon could have led to an uncertain outcome.
Although Kentra knew high-level Trainers were engaged against Kyogre, he couldn't risk their unexpected return. As a precaution, he prepared a backup plan to ensure a safe retreat.
While Oceanview City was technically under occupation by the Dark Guild, their presence remained sparse. Most citizens continued living normally, with minimal disruption.
The only significant impact was the Dark Guild's control over resources. However, this didn't greatly affect ordinary people; they carried on as usual. Only those who previously managed these resources experienced losses.
Instead of staying in Oceanview City, the seventeen high-level trainers swiftly headed towards the West Sea. Now, the only viable strategy to counter the Dark Guild involved gathering both mid- and high-level trainers.
If dealing with Kyogre wasn't urgent, it would have been feasible to first resolve matters with the Dark Guild before turning their attention back to Kyogre.
The Dark Guild itself wasn't exceptionally powerful; their success stemmed from seizing the opportunity when most of Ellie region's combat forces were absent, allowing them to launch a surprise attack.
Once the combined force of mid- and high-level trainers attacked, the Dark Guild stood no chance. They would either have to surrender obediently or face a crushing defeat.

On the sea surface, the large group of mid-level trainers heading back to the Ellie region encountered the seventeen high-level Trainers.
"How is the situation in the West Sea?" The eldest among the seventeen high-level Trainers asked. If not critical, they could have recalled Timon and his team, allowing them to join forces against the Dark Guild.
"Kyogre is incredibly powerful; Cyan Town has been submerged, becoming part of the ocean now. Timon and his group have already teamed up with the Sebas region's forces. They advised us to return to the Ellie region first while you swiftly head to the southern coast of the Sebas region. They should still be discussing their plans," one of the mid-level Trainers responded.
The seventeen high-level Trainers looked at the over two hundred mid-level Trainers, somewhat astonished. Kyogre must truly be formidable if it required the combined elite combat power of two regions just to confront it.
"Forgetting about Kyogre for now, the Dark Guild somehow acquired numerous purple Pokemon, which pose a significant threat. It's good that you're back; handling the Dark Guild will fall on your shoulders. Ideally, gather all the mid-level trainers together," another Trainer said.
The Dark Guild was indeed formidable, but facing over two hundred mid-level Trainers, their numbers were significantly outmatched. With further mobilization, the count of mid-level trainers could easily surpass three hundred.
With more than three hundred mid-level Trainers, sheer quantity would translate into overwhelming quality. Even with the powerful purple Pokemon of the Dark Guild, their limited numbers couldn't withstand such a massive onslaught from numerous Pokemon.
"Agreed."
Soon, the two hundred plus mid-level Trainers rushed towards the Ellie region, while the seventeen high-level Trainers headed for the South Coast.
Upon arriving in the Ellie region, the two hundred-plus mid-level Trainers did not immediately confront the Dark Guild. Instead, they gathered first to gather intelligence on the guild and coordinate all available mid-level trainers.
All mid-level trainers in the Ellie region received their mission and swiftly converged near Oceanview City's neighboring town to strategize against the Dark Guild occupying Oceanview City.
