After Mega Evolving into Charizard Y, Lian returned to the battlefield with enhanced power, flying directly towards Celebi.
The transformation of Charizard Y gave Lian a sleeker physique, featuring larger wings and a longer tail, which significantly increased his flight speed, akin to a jet engine.
Apart from a significant boost in Special Attack, Charizard Y also experienced a substantial increase in Special Defense base stat. With Charizard Y's base stat value for Special Defense reaching 155, Lian now possessed exceptional defensive capabilities against special attacks.
Lian no longer feared the ground-based Special Attack Pokemon. Moves like Water Pulse could be virtually ignored; even if hit, they would have minimal effect. His 155 Special Defense base stat allowed him to shrug off most average-power Special Attack moves effortlessly.
As Lian rejoined the battle, the three mid-level trainers also entered the fray, ready to engage.
Fortunately, Lian arrived just in time; Celebi had not yet lost its fighting capability. However, he couldn't determine how long Celebi could hold on, as one more hit from a move might lead to defeat at any moment.
The three high-level Trainers swiftly commanded their Pokemon to launch another assault on Lian. Although puzzled by Charizard's transformation, they remained unconvinced that it could undergo a third evolution, deeming it impossible.
It was widely known that Charizard cannot evolve further. Despite witnessing its altered form, they attributed it to some other factor rather than true evolution.
Facing the onslaught of five high-tier Pokemon, along with over ten additional Pokemon from the mid-level trainers on the ground, Lian showed no fear.
Earlier, his weakened state made handling such a siege challenging. However, now fully recovered and transformed into Charizard Y, his power had at least doubled, if not more.
With extreme Special Attack output, he could virtually ignore type disadvantages against attacks two times weaker or less. Even Water-type Pokemon would be instantly defeated under Lian's blazing inferno.
"I can finally unleash my moves without restraint!" Lian exclaimed excitedly. Upon reaching a 70% Control Rating, he realized that maximizing this level of power required immense energy, far beyond what he previously possessed.
Now, with abundant energy at his disposal, Lian could freely unleash Fire-type moves without worrying about rapid depletion.
"Attack!"
The five Pokémon, along with over a dozen others on the ground, simultaneously directed their moves towards Lian in mid-air. A barrage of colorful energy beams and waves converged upon him.
Facing this onslaught, Lian responded by unleashing a Fire-type move - Ember. However, it wasn't just one Ember; he released countless bursts simultaneously.
As Lian opened his mouth, streams of flames erupted from within. Although individually they appeared weak, their sheer number and fan-like spread covered a wide area.
Boom! Boom! Boom!
Countless embers collided fiercely with the diverse array of attacks coming from the ground, generating loud explosions that effectively blocked the incoming energy beams and waves.
Lian had always been capable of releasing numerous Embers, but due to its high energy consumption and typically engaging in one-on-one battles, there was never a need for such a move.
Individually, each spark lacked significant power, but collectively, they proved highly effective against multiple Pokemon attacking simultaneously.
The energy beams and waves collided with intense force, dispersing outward without any reaching Lian.
Whish! Whish!
Suddenly, Lian unleashed two Air Slashes, invisible blades soaring towards the Unfezant preparing to attack from the sky.
This Unfezant was the only Flying-type Pokemon capable of closing in on Lian, aside from the one engaged with Celebi.
Once these two were dealt with, he could easily leave with Celebi. However, Lian had no intention of fleeing; his goal was to defeat all the opposing Pokemon present.
Bam! Bam!
The Unfezant was instantly struck by both Air Slashes. With Lian's Special Attack base stat at 2500, coupled with releasing two consecutive Air Slashes, the Unfezant had little chance to dodge and was sent flying away.
Previously, Lian refrained from attacking as it would have been countered by combined efforts. Now, having successfully blocked their moves, he found an opening to target the Unfezant.
These two Air Slashes rendered Unfezant completely unable to continue battling. Despite having only 75 power as a Flying-type Special Attack move, the consecutive double strikes, combined with Lian's exceptional Special Attack capabilities, overwhelmed Unfezant's inherently weak Special Defense.
In just one exchange, Lian effortlessly defeated Unfezant. The rapid succession of Ember and dual Air Slashes left no room for evasion, resembling a seamless combo executed swiftly.
Having vanquished Unfezant, Lian wasted no time and immediately unleashed another move. Although Ember consumed considerable energy, he still had ample reserves to support additional Fire-type attacks.
Lian's target was the Pokemon belonging to the three high-level Trainers. Once their Pokemon were defeated, the remaining mid-level trainers posed little threat. For Lian at his current strength, mid-tier Pokemon were too weak, easily dismissed by long-range Special Attack moves.
Lian needed to resolve this battle swiftly as he couldn't maintain Mega Form for too long. He could feel the continuous depletion of his Mega power, knowing that once it dissipates, he would revert back.
This was one drawback of incomplete Mega Evolution, although even with that limitation, the duration was ample enough. Facing two Empoleons and two high-tier Pokemon, totaling four opponents.
After defeating these four, Lian planned to support Celebi, effectively ending the confrontation. The remaining Pokemon posed no significant threat.
"Keep unleashing your moves!"
The Charizard's strength far exceeded the expectations of the three high-level trainers; it was overwhelmingly powerful, surpassing their previous encounters.
Earlier, they had managed to suppress the Charizard, but now, not only were they unable to contain it, but multiple Pokemon attacks were effortlessly repelled, allowing Charizard to defeat the Unfezant simultaneously.
Such immense power began to shake the confidence of the high-level trainers. They hastily commanded their Pokemon to attack, hoping to quickly inflict damage on the Charizard, which might restore some belief in their chances.
