Chapter 351 - Before Thunder... Came the Lightning...

Volaris boomed with laughter above the colossal mountains of the North...

Lithica looked at him like a fool as the lesser god watched a small pond in the lake as if it was a play.

However, this was a play.

Volaris could not only see that this was a play... But the most brilliant of all plays.

Luna...

Had been right...

He could understand that now.

Volaris chuckled softly, watching the battle play out, spelling doom before the group known as Unity.

Lithica had pleaded to return several times, and yet Volaris had not let him, demanding that he stay at his side until the battle ended.

"What do you see?" Lithica asked, worry in his eyes as they both knew what had just happened only moments ago.

"You know what I seen." Volaris laughed.

"My lord...?" Lithica was ignited with dread as the lord he spoke of... Had died...

"Correct, elemental of light. Your lord has fallen. Chase of House Phoenix is now truly dead!" Volaris laughed, knowing full well what this meant.

It was time...

For Volaris... Lesser god of storms... To play his card...

He summoned a spear of electricity, brimming with the might of an entire god...

"Lithica... When I throw this spear across the heavens... Who will catch it?" He asked, already knowing the answer.

"No one... Chase holds the blessing of the moon... And no one else that I know of has the potential of a Champion..." He responded, completely depressed, as if his will had already been broken.

"That is not how this works..." Volaris chuckled.

Lithica shook his head.

"You will break the pact."

Volaris boomed with laughter once more at the humor of Lithica, even though it was no humor at all.

"It has already been broken." Volaris said with a dark grin.

"What do you mean?" Lithica shook his head.

"Luna found a loophole, choosing someone already tied to the gods... The child of a former Champion... However, there are two current Champions in Vallmora... Star... The daughter of Zen carries the will of Hextra... Meaning that she has paid the price for all lesser gods and goddesses... Officially starting the war among us..." Volaris said with a grim laugh.

"Huh?" Lithica could not understand his speech.

"If I throw this spear... What will happen?" He asked Lithica again, peering into the water even deeper now, the electric spear still brimming with his own life force.

"Someone will catch it?" Lithica asked unenthusiastically.

"Only if they wish... But that's the thing... You were originally right. According to natural laws... No one would be able to catch it. But it would still land. My energy would exist beyond these mountains..." He scoffed.

Lithica raised an eyebrow as if in disbelief at the old god's ramblings.

"So... No one will catch the spear?" Lithica asked, now fully confused.

"Wrong... The spear may not be caught. But its presence will be known in Olympia... Currently... The right eye of Leander exists in Olympia... Meaning that there are currently three lesser gods there. But Hextra is an enemy, making her not count on that spectrum... But if my energy exists there... I could not only aid in the battle- be it not significantly... But I have been meaning to do something for quite a while..." His voice lowered, whispering into his own spear as he spoke.

Before Lithica could respond, Volaris spoke again, this time another question.

"Who is the archer?"

Lithica was taken aback by the question, unsure as to why he had asked such an insignificant thing.

"Equan..." He answered.

"What is his bloodline?" Volaris grinned.

"L- Oh..." Lithica realized what Volaris was referring towards...

"I think its time this old fool took on an apprentice of his own..."

Volaris returned to his cheerful laughter, standing up with the presence of a god and stepping towards the exit of the cave.

"If I throw this spear... Who will catch it?" He asked, again, peering towards the distant lands of Vallmora.

That time; however, he had not only asked Lithica... Or himself... But all of the lands within this world... He had asked reality itself.

"Equan of House Lightning..." Lithica responded, realizing that Volaris was indeed going to break his pact beyond that of just interfering...

"Correct..." Volaris grin darkened even further as he reached his arm back, pulling on the tendons of his ancient arm...

His shoulder strained, the energy of the spear threatening to implode from the force of the lesser god.

"EQUAN OF HOUSE LIGHTNING!" He screamed, hurling the spear into the sky above, taking the form of a falling star...

"Hear my voice... Let it fill your fallen body with essence... Let it radiate the life within you once more..." He continued... His voice turning to a chant as he watched the spear travel across the sky like a comet.

Sure enough...

The small mental space between them began to shrink...

The time was now...
