We were sitting next to each other on the sun lounger.
Berlin was awake around us. Cars moving down the street below, someone yelling about coffee, a dog barking from a balcony two floors down. The city was loud and alive and I couldn't hear any of it.
My mind was racing.
Eight months. In eight months I was going to be a father. I was going to hold a piece of me and a piece of Kolli in my hands. The thought kept hitting me in waves and each time it knocked the air out of me.
I tried to picture it. A baby. Our baby.
Would it have red hair like Kolli? Or dark hair like mine? Gosh, what if it came out blonde like Benecio and Bunky did? That would kill me. I'd never hear the end of it.
A small smile pulled at my mouth. I was really going to be a father, and then the worry crept in.
Would I be any good at it?
