Francesca, noticing Javier's silence, spoke softly, her smile never fading.
"Honey bun~ Didn't I already say you don't need to worry about that?" she cooed.
"A-ah… I..I'm not thinking about it!" Javier stammered, looking away.
"Really?" Francesca's tone grew almost playful, but her eyes pinned him in place. "Because it seems to me you're still letting it trouble you. Hmm?"
She sipped her tea with perfect grace, watching him over the rim of her cup.
Suddenly, Javier felt a pressure descend on him, a crushing, suffocating weight, far heavier than anything he'd experienced before. Even though it lasted only a second, it left his entire body trembling.
