Chapter 25 - The real monster and the false heroes.

A/N:

Hi guys.

Yep...I sit my ass down to write, I put on the good old DxD openings and I dive in.

When I drop a chapter I'm not giving you 2000 sad words and calling it a day hehe. Enjoy this 6,1k words counting the author notes.

We are getting closer to the end, the only good thing is I will not drop this close to the final lol, so either I died or the internet ceased to exist.

Both likely will not happen anytime soon so you can relax in that regard.

Kinda obvious when Samuel ascends it's game over for everyone.

I'm mad because last chapter I made some polishments and Webnovel decided to not save the changes and published the unpolished chapter...I'm pissed because I lost the chance to make a joke and it was not even my fault.

It was the "puny god" joke, everyone needs to say it when you beat Loki no matter what Loki we are talking about.

Curse you Webnovel...curse you.

I'm hating this page more and more...damn.

Things we will take in the author notes 2

-The things that didn't make it in the last chapter because of Webnovel (Please read this one)

-Different fanfiction pages and their situation.

- Third Person POV -

After a lovers night to destress after the events of the gathering, morning came, not the usual peaceful morning though...

"Sam!" Xenovia shook Samuel, who was sleeping, she was trying to wake him up.

"SAM!" This time Samuel woke up already knowing the situation, fully awake.

"There are people outside the house." Xenovia said in a worried tone.

Samuel stood up fast, putting his Ornstein armor from his inventory. Spear already in his hand.

"...Let me see." Samuel said while peeking through the curtain.

!!!

"..." Samuel.

"Heh...the stars are really favoring me..." Samuel muttered slowly.

Standing in the street were the members of the Hero Faction.

Cao Cao, Georg, Jeanne, Heracles, Conla, Siegfried....and Leonardo.

Annihilation Maker was just within his reach to take.

Samuel was not expecting this gank to be honest. He didn't expect getting jumped so early in the morning.

Of course they didn't breach the bounded field of his house or start a fight right away, but Samuel knows...right now a fight is imminent for many reasons.

He theorized that they might appear at the Gathering helping Loki, but the only one who was there as a guest was Heracles. Regarding that, in the end nothing happened.

So he decided to keep an eye on Kyoto and act when the time comes...

But things changed.

'I need to relax. I can't allow myself to get tunnel vision on Annihilation Maker, I need to do it right.' Samuel thought.

For Samuel, who knows how to take the Sacred Gears, these seven dumbasses are walking lootboxes ready to be taken.

Plus they are with the Khaos Brigade, the enemy. So nothing of value will be lost.

He will not use all the Sacred Gears for himself of course like some hoarder...he has some plans.

"Xenovia, you are fighting alongside me this time, you are fighting the blonde girl and the white-haired one with the swords." Samuel said to Xenovia.

Xenovia was ready. She was training in hard mode because of Samuel, and that training paid off. She can solo all of them if Cao Cao was not there.

Plus Durandal got buffed by Samuel...again.

The first one was more than a buff, it was a correction to its laughable design. Making it a straight greatsword with no weird things on the side, fine and polished proportions. Removing entirely the worthless hand protection.

Now? Samuel combined all the Excalibur pieces into Durandal with the exception of Excalibur Ruler.

Durandal was peaking, it was stronger now than in its time when Vasco Strada wielded it.

Samuel's alchemical work was way superior to that of the Church in canon. Mostly because nobody told him what to do or how to do it "properly"

Durandal has alchemical glyphs and decorations on its edge. The sword is blue as it was originally but now is glowing golden.

The glyphs and decorations were created from the fragments themselves, mixed and rearranged by Samuel, giving Durandal the full capabilities of the six Excalibur fragments.

Now Durandal is truly a legendary sword.

Xenovia got the benefits of being his girlfriend.

Samuel pulled out the patch notes and buffed his girl.

He gave up trying to make a Fate-level Excalibur, the Excalibur of the DxD universe is way too weak.

...No. The Fate Excalibur is too strong.

So in the end he decided to do something special for Xenovia.

After a bit, Xenovia fully in her new combat attire and Durandal in hand gave a nod to Samuel.

"Watch out and don't kill them...I need to take out their Sacred Gears first." Samuel reminded her.

"Un." She nodded.

With that they walked to the fight.

Samuel opened the door of his house with purpose. Footsteps that resounded, full of determination.

In the street in front of him was Cao Cao in the middle of the group.

Heracles smiled, walking to meet Lancaster...already getting ideas, but Cao Cao gestured to him to stay back. Heracles obeyed, letting out a snort at his leader.

Samuel stopped, leaving a considerable distance between the two of them and the false heroes.

"Samuel Lancaster." Cao Cao said his name in a calm and polite tone.

"Cao Cao." Samuel stated, making him raise an eyebrow.

"You know me?"

"Vali told me enough." Not a lie from Samuel, but not the real truth either.

"Of course..." Cao Cao just shook his head. He knows things will not go as smoothly as he wants.

"Then let me introduce myself and my group here...I'm Cao Cao, the strongest human and hero of humanity. Wielder of the legendary long-" Cao Cao said with fanfare, with arrogance.

"Enough." Samuel gestured with a dismissive wave, not even bothering to hear any more delusions from this guy.

At another time, he would have let him finish, laughed, even let out a chuckle, but right now Samuel was super focused, locked in.

"As you can see they are Spirit Inheritors, the best of humanity, that's why I came here with an invitation, you should join us Lancaster, we can-" Cao Cao kept going until Samuel cut him again.

Cao Cao deep down knows it's a bad idea fighting Samuel, that's why he is pushing the talk. If he can't beat him he can try using words, he is no stranger to manipulation tactics.

And sometimes the pen is mightier than the sword.

"I'm not joining you." Samuel said with finality.

A silence filled the street.

Cao Cao bit his lip in frustration but he quickly opened his mouth to try to poison Lancaster again.

"Why? We are human like you too, we aren't so different, all of us want the best for humanity right?" Cao Cao said, going for a new angle, playing the hero.

Trying to appeal to the morality of the golden lion.

Mixing the truth with a little manipulation. After all, one of the best lies are the half truths.

But Cao Cao was wrong.

The inferior mindset will never appeal to the Superior Mindset.

Samuel Lancaster can see right through their hollow lies, right through their hollow lives.

"We are different. Painfully different." Samuel said calmly, a bit surprised with Cao Cao who was deluded, believing in his crusade.

"For starters? I'm not going 'for the greater good' like you while sacrificing and hurting innocent people, unlike you guys I have a bottom line." He continued with a sharp tone.

Unlike Cao Cao, Samuel killed a total of 0 innocent people in both lives.

"And the strongest of humanity you said before? Don't make me laugh, you are at best the third strongest and I'm being generous, Vasco Strada will mop the floor with you any day of the week." Samuel threw some ragebait to Cao Cao who let out a frown.

"You five are pieces of shit." Samuel left Leonardo out of the equation because he already put two and two together and picked out quickly his situation.

"You were supposed to be heroes of humanity but you are worse than trash. Spirit Inheritors my ass, the old heroes are turning in their graves because of you." Samuel looked at each Spirit Inheritor with disgust.

Samuel let out his magical energy. Suffocating them. Showing how wrong they are.

The false heroes started to sweat at the imminent battle, no. Their imminent doom.

"I have a question for Leonardo before we start." Samuel said slowly, surprising the five and Leonardo himself.

"Leonardo...did they drag you into this whole mess against your will?" Samuel asked calmly.

Leonardo opened his eyes wide as he started to tremble.

Right in front of him was a golden light...asking him.

"I-i-" Leonardo said with difficulty.

But he was cut off when Georg's hand was on his shoulder.

Leonardo looked up at Georg. With only one look from Georg to Leonardo, the kid looked down to the floor. His hands trembling.

"I see." Samuel confirmed his suspicion.

A kid with a Sacred Gear was easy prey for Cao Cao and his gang. Another useful pawn. Who cares if it's a kid who barely knows how to use his Sacred Gear right?

"I will not kill you Leonardo, I think you are one of the rare cases who deserves a second chance...but I will take my price." Samuel said to the kid.

Even from the darkness, from a horrible situation, he can salvage something, give a young life another chance.

But Samuel is not giving the other six a chance. Especially Cao Cao.

In the original canon, he did some retrospection on his actions, coming to the conclusion that he might not be humanity's chosen one, seeing beyond his narrow point of view.

But in the end it was worthless.

The damage was already done.

The genocide in Kyoto was already done.

One of the many despicable acts they committed.

Cao Cao never lived up to expectations, he never helped humanity, even when he boasted he did, he always made things worse for it.

Even after his reflection, it was worthless, he is worthless.

Because at the end of it...

He chose to become Indra Vanguard.

In the end it was all for nothing.

The inferior mindset serving the inferior mindset.

"You will die here Cao Cao." Samuel stated.

They came to his house to do their usual despicable acts...but they made a mistake.

Cao Cao paled.

Having Samuel in front of him in his golden armor. His instinct screamed at him to run away without looking back. The logical part already making a plan to use his companions like meat shields.

"W-wait Lancaster we can make a deal, NO! a pact, that will benefit you the most, we-" said Cao Cao with sweat all over his body just like his companions.

It was normal after all...

In front of them was someone who was almost touching divinity.

"There are no pacts between lions and men."

Samuel said in a cold voice, with an absolute tone. Preparing himself to fight.

The Superior Mindset doesn't make pacts or deals with the inferior mindset.

Never negotiate with terrorists.

You don't make deals with evil, because next time it won't negotiate, it will run you over.

In a blink Samuel put a bigger bounded field around the area.

Nobody was escaping.

He teleported behind Leonardo and gave a controlled chop to his neck, knocking him out fast. Sparing the poor child from witnessing the massacre.

Everyone turned their necks fast at the golden lion.

With a controlled and borderline perfect telekinetic pull from Samuel, all of the six Phoenix Tears came out from the Hero Faction members' pockets.

The miracle cures flew to him as they disappeared into his inventory.

Nobody was getting cured in any way.

Before anyone could react to what just happened, in a blur of velocity he threw his spear at Georg, breaking the sound barrier.

Georg was able to put up 3 magical circles of protection. But it was not enough....

Georg was sent flying and got impaled on a wall.

The dragonslayer spear was piercing his stomach.

Everyone widened their eyes including Xenovia.

The Hero Faction were scared, Lancaster just took two of them in a blink.

'...N-no please no.' Jeanne thought as the fear of death gnawed at her from within. Realizing they came to poke an unknown monster in his den.

Lancaster teleported to Georg's side.

...And reached his soul to take his Sacred Gear.

With a brutal pull and without any care, he snatched it away. Quickly putting the Gear in the security of his inventory.

He quickly eliminated a possible variant that could get away even if he himself put a bounded field at his crazy level. After all Sacred Gears are all bullshit.

Samuel was displaying his monstrous efficiency in combat.

The others quickly snapped out of their trance seeing Georg die.

"[True Longinus - Balance Breaker]" roared Cao Cao in a desperate scream.

"[Polar Night Longinus Chakravartin]" Behind the leader of the Khaos Brigade a halo materialized along with seven orbs.

At the same time the last three members activated their Balance Breaker, following their leader.

They are putting EVERYTHING in this fight.

"[Twice Critical - Balance Breaker]"

"[Chaos Edge Asura Ravage]"

Siegfried pulled out six different swords to wield at the same time.

"[Variant Detonation - Balance Breaker]"

"[Detonation Mighty Comet]"

Heracles grew some armor with spikes and two missiles in each hand.

"[Night Reflection - Balance Breaker]"

"[Night Reflection Death Cross]"

Connla covered himself in a shadow armor.

'Lowkey this guy looks a bit like a pervert covered like that' Samuel thought.

This took the attention of Samuel. He knows Night Reflection can manipulate shadows...

A couple of days back he got a dangerous idea of what to do with that Sacred Gear and how to use it properly.

"[Blade Blacksmith - Balance Breaker]"

"[Stake Victim Dragon]"

The dragon materialized from the holy swords Jeanne created.

But something happened that froze everyone on the battlefield.

An old and powerful bloodlust.

A feral sense of dominance flooding the streets.

Someone would say time stopped for a moment.

Samuel's whole demeanor changed, his eyes on the dragon.

Quickly he resummoned his dragonslayer spear to his hand as Georg's lifeless body fell to the ground.

His Ornstein assimilation shining bright. The Dragon Slayer knight. He who slayed countless dragons, he who was the captain and one of the four knights of Gwyn.

The ultimate Dragon Slayer.

Samuel put his two hands on the spear and charged at the dragon.

Channeling his magic and manifesting an insane amount of thunder. Causing a power outage in that area.

He made the movement that many Souls players will have PTSD from seeing it.

Mentally regressing and going back as they pass the fog to fight Ornstein and Smough as the dragon slayer approaches at high speed greeting them with a stinger.

Ornstein's famous gliding stab. A gliding tackle with a nasty stinger.

Samuel wrapped in thunder at lightning speed flew towards the dragon and stabbed it.

(Image)

The dragon at 3 seconds of being formed by Jeanne...exploded into a thousand pieces.

Everyone was mentally stunned as the pieces of the dragon flew away.

Xenovia taking advantage and seizing the opportunity, she kicked Siegfried with an empowered kick, separating him from the group.

She was not finished as she grabbed Jeanne by her face. Similar to how Ichigo grabbed Aizen.

As she threw the girl to Siegfried.

"Cut their limbs if you want. Just don't kill them." Samuel said to Xenovia.

Samuel looked at the two in front of him. Cao Cao and Heracles. Connla "disappeared" a while ago.

Heracles shot two missiles at Samuel...Two missiles that made a U turn and impacted directly towards Heracles.

"W-WHAT!" the Spirit Inheritor said surprised as the smoke of the explosions enveloped him.

Samuel used his Magneto mutant powers to troll Heracles.

"You have an ok aim Heracles." Samuel mocked him a bit.

At this point nobody knows what was going on.

Connla was hiding in the shadows, jumping from shadow to shadow around the environment.

Getting closer and closer to Samuel to attack him from behind, from his blind spot.

As Connla jumped from the shadows to tackle Samuel like a wild beast of darkness.

Samuel just punched behind without turning. Just into Connla's face as he became tangible again.

(Image)

Connla fell to the ground grabbing his face with his two hands groaning in pain.

"MMMMMMNNHHHHGGSDFU!!" He was in agony as he writhed on the floor.

His nose and the majority of his front teeth all broke from the punch.

Samuel put away the dragonslayer spear and brought out Star Buster Star Blaster.

"Meet my Sacred Gear. Star Buster Star Blaster" he said to them.

(Image)

He kneeled down next to Connla and pulled out Night Reflection from his soul, just like Georg the pull was brutal and without any care, ending his life.

"Shall we?" he asked a trembling Cao Cao and Heracles.

Mechashifting the greatsword to its rifle form

Bloodborne style.

---

Xenovia was holding Durandal about to clash with Siegfried.

As the white-haired rushed at her trying to pierce her heart with Gram.

Xenovia just sidestepped with grace, using the advantage of having the longer sword she cut three arms on his right side without any problems.

"AAARGGH!" Siegfried screamed.

"JEANNE WHAT ARE YOU DOING, HELP ME ALREADY!" he shouted pulling the girl out of the freezing fear she was experiencing.

"Y-yes!" the blonde said scared.

But Xenovia didn't let Siegfried's mistake slip.

Wielding it with her two hands, turning around making a spin for more power, she feinted at his torso only to change direction and go for the legs.

Siegfried had no weapons on his right side to block Durandal quickly. So the cut was perfectly clean.

Xenovia cut both legs making Siegfried fall to the ground.

(Image)

"AAAAAAAARGGH FUCK, MY LEGS! YOU FUCKING BITCH!"

Jeanne just stopped mid-charge horrified when she saw the state of Siegfried.

Xenovia kicked Siegfried in the chin making him pass out.

As the two remaining women locked eyes with each other, all fighting spirit of the "saint" went away.

"N-n-no wait please." Jeanne started to beg.

Xenovia just rushed at her like a madwoman, sword in hand.

"I SAY WAIT PLEASE!" she extended her hand making the universal sign of "stop"

If this was the old less trained Xenovia...it would have worked.

Now?

"AAAARGGGGGGH" Jeanne screamed in pain as her extended hand was cut by Xenovia.

Xenovia didn't lose any time stepping closer to Jeanne.

The blonde full of pain and fear threw a sloppy stab with her rapier only to be easily parried with Xenovia's bare hand.

Close enough she landed an elbow to the chin worthy of a professional kickboxer.

Jeanne let out a nasty jaw-smacking sound as she passed out.

Xenovia looked around at her two knocked out enemies.

"This easy?" she murmured.

'They didn't even allow me to use all the powers of Durandal...'

She grabbed Jeanne and threw her close to Siegfried.

With the two close now she used some minor healing magic to stop the bleeding from the cut limbs.

After all Samuel told her not to kill them.

'Mmmmh Durandal cut them like butter I will reward Samuel after this.' Xenovia said with a silly face holding the sword.

(Image)

---

Cao Cao and Heracles were experiencing pure real...Khaos.

Samuel was shooting them like some madman with a rifle.

But this madman in particular was not missing a shot.

He wasn't even giving them time to breathe and do something properly.

A magical rifle who can destroy the world...if not controlled.

Samuel was limit testing his Sacred Gear. Seeing how far the base form can go.

After all Star Buster Star Blaster (STSB from now on) was a very niche and obscure Gear of the new Longinus.

So nobody knows its capabilities right now.

Heracles was only dodging the beams because he tried to block one...and it was a bad idea.

Cao Cao being stronger than Heracles and the one with the better Sacred Gear can block it.

"Maniratana!" Cao Cao said even reflecting some beams and throwing them back at Samuel who blocked them perfectly with his magic.

The True Longinus is the fucking True Longinus after all.

Cao Cao was dodging and bitch slapping the magical beams of the rifle, getting close to Samuel, he is respectably good.

Until Heracles threw more missiles...

Samuel with a wave redirected the missiles to Cao Cao and Heracles once more.

Cao Cao, frustrated, moved the cloud of dust that formed around the two. The missiles did little damage to them in their Balance Breaker state.

"Can you stop throwing missiles you oaf." Cao Cao spat at his teammate. "Don't you see he can deflect that easily and counter us with the same missiles?"

Heracles just grunted as the two looked back at Samuel who was holding the rifle.

"Okay time to end things, I should do that too." Samuel said lightly.

"[Star Buster Star Blaster - Balance Breaker]"

"[Starfall Bastion]"

At his words the two widened their eyes.

'...This has to be a nightmare.' Cao Cao thought in his mind.

All the off-screen training Samuel does in his free time pays off.

The rifle became blue ethereal with small stars around, like a galaxy inside. It separated like a cell and multiplied until 10 copies of the rifle were on both sides of Samuel, 20 in total.

(Image)

The greatsword became blue ethereal too, same like the rifles around Samuel.

The multiple rifles can shoot automatically now, from the usual empowered magical beams from before, to elemental magic.

Samuel will never tell anyone but he can shoot other energies from his assimilations. Like void energy for example but that will be overkill.

The greatsword can be used at the same time too now as Samuel was holding it in his hand.

He can bury his sword in the ground, generating an area vortex that allows him to block all physical attacks.

A subspecies Balance Breaker that was inspired by characters he played in his past life.

Of course, STSB can do much more than those characters, for several reasons thanks to Samuel's immense talent, his knowledge of Sacred Gears, and his human affinity with them.

Not counting the entire stack of assimilations that help him in this regard.

'I will not use the vortex...too much for them right now.'

'I got a little excited seeing so many Balance Breakers, I let myself go a bit' Samuel sighed. 'Time to end this.'

The rifles aimed at Heracles' whole body. The giant widening his eyes.

He blocked some...Cao Cao helped him too. But it was not enough.

Heracles lost an arm from the beams.

A bit of credit to Heracles for not screaming or entering in panic, he just grabbed the chomp of his missing arm, trying to stop the bleeding but it's pointless at this point.

Samuel teleported in front of him hitting his chin with the hilt of the sword. Making the giant go down.

He redirected all the weapons to Cao Cao making him take distance.

Cao Cao was in shambles right now.

He looked to the distance and Xenovia was standing looking at him while guarding the knocked bodies of Jeanne and Siegfried.

He watched how Samuel made the pulling motion again on Heracles.

Cao Cao felt it, Heracles died.

Widening his eyes as he realized what Samuel was doing.

"...You are taking the Sacred Gears. You disgusting piece of-" He ranted but was cut off by Samuel's unusual request.

"Use Truth Idea."

!!!

Silence filled the street.

"You heard me. Come on, use it. If you don't use it you will die and I will take the spear. You need a miracle to win this fight, right?"

"..."

Cao Cao's anger shot UP, he started to see red. The angriest he's been in his whole life.

"THEN LOOK AT THE MIRACULOUS POWER I HAVE SAMUEL LANCASTER, WATCH HOW YOU WILL DIE BY HIS HAND!!" Cao Cao grabbed the spear with both hands. His grip on the spear grew stronger, fueled by anger.

"AFTER ALL THE HERO WILL ALWAYS WIN AGAINST THE VILLAIN!" He said it in a non-ironic way.

Samuel Lancaster just smiled, dropping his guard, deactivating his Balance Breaker.

He had nothing in his hands and all he did was look up.

Towards the heavens.

He was no hero, that's for sure. And of course not a villain.

He was an anti-hero.

Cao Cao started to chant.

"[O spear. The true holy spear which pierces through god]"

"[Suck the ambition of the King of Domination sleeping within me and pierce through the gap of blessing and destruction]"

"[You. Announce the will, and turn into a glow]"

A white glow appeared, blinding everything in its path.

---

Third Person POV - True Longinus -

At first glance, everything looked like a white void.

A white eternity.

Samuel was still standing, his head still looking at the heavens before the white flash.

Then footsteps were heard in the distance. Soft footsteps.

Samuel turned his neck to the source of the footsteps and froze for a moment.

Without a word he let him get close.

"Samuel Lancaster." With a nod he greeted him.

"...Yahweh." And Lancaster returned the nod.

In front of him was God.

Yahweh.

'He looks very similar to Adam from Record of Ragnarok.' Samuel said in his mind.

Blonde, same height but middle-aged looking.

Samuel was expecting him to have white hair and a white beard, like a more old-looking grandpa.

"So your will is really inside the spear huh." Samuel looked up again.

"Mmmnh. It's really a wonderful view doesn't it?" Yahweh said, accompanying him, standing next to him and looking up as well.

"It changed like this when you arrived, I could see your future, but nothing of your past, I wonder why." Yahweh asked.

The stars denied it, but they didn't deny him the future. Not to him.

Samuel was just in silence. He already knows why. His soul was aware. He knows.

"I see what you are planning to do Samuel."

Samuel turned again to Yahweh.

"Do you?"

"The question I wanted to ask...are you sure about this, Samuel Lancaster?"

"Yes." Samuel responded without missing a beat.

"Truly?" Yahweh turned to Samuel looking at his eyes. "Eternity can be...exhausting." God stated.

Samuel understood.

"I know. That's why I need to be more than that...I can't be a simple god like them. Even more than the two Dragon Gods." Samuel explained.

For him gods were not that different from humans, they remember and forget things, they laugh, they cry, they feel lonely...they feel emotions.

Yes they have their might and divinity...but that's it?

But Ophis and Great Red? They are different.

They can spend eternity on their own and they are fine.

Truly ascended beings.

People said the sky is the limit...

"That's why I need to go beyond the heavens...among the stars." Samuel stated at the starry sky.

"The perfect body, the perfect soul, the perfect mind."

"But at the end of the day I will still be me."

"And I will save the crumbling Abrahamic pantheon from extinction."

He turned again to Yahweh.

"This is why I will give my soul for them...for eternity."

Yahweh blinked.

Yahweh blinked twice.

"Young man, are you absolutely sure this is the path you will take?"

"Yes."

Yahweh sighed.

"I would like to give you a talk about whether your morals are correct or mistaken...but I can't. After all I paid the ultimate price because of that." Yahweh said with a sad smile.

God himself had to kill his deranged son.

Something a father should never have to do...that's why he paid the ultimate price.

"Sorry you had to go through that." Samuel offered an apology even if not needed from him.

Yahweh just made a gesture with his hand, letting the matter go as he looked up again with Samuel.

"So The God of the Stars?"

"Yeah, but i wanted to call myself the King of the Stars to always keep in mind my human roots, that I started as a simple being." Samuel explained.

"You know it's not only the stars right?" Yahweh threw a glance at him.

"Oh well...let's say the moon will come along too." Samuel began to omit the real matter.

"Samuel Lancaster." God said in a serious tone.

"You know what I mean."

Samuel just let out a sigh.

"I know."

"Be careful young man. It's true the light of the stars may be infinite but there are not only stars up there." God warned him.

"That's why everything needs a balance Yahweh...Life and death, light and darkness." Samuel said letting another sigh.

"Just be careful."

"I will." Samuel nodded.

After some moments of silence admiring the starry night, God decided to ask.

"You want to be the new wielder of the spear?" Yahweh asked.

"No."

"Why?" He said a bit surprised.

"I have the perfect wielder in mind already." Samuel gave him a small smile.

"Who?"

"I don't want to spoil the surprise." The smile transformed into a mischievous one.

"Be like that then." Yahweh smiled too.

"I should go...next time we talk, I will be in my...new state and with a couple of people." Samuel said putting his helmet on again.

"Can you do that?" God raised an eyebrow.

"Right now? Nope. But I'm sure I can do a miracle or two when I ascend...heh."

"Goodbye Yahweh and thanks for everything. See you next time." Samuel waved. A true smile behind the helmet.

"Goodbye Samuel Lancaster. It was nice to meet you."

With that the white void morphed again making Samuel disappear.

Yahweh was alone again looking at the starry night sky.

And after a couple of seconds...

"Indeed it was nice to meet you..."

"God of the Cosmos."

---

Cao Cao fell on his knees. Head touching the concrete. He was exhausted.

Breaking out of his Balance Breaker form. The spear in his hand not responding to him anymore.

He looked at the spear in panic.

"No no no NO!" he grabbed it, pulling the spear close to him.

Suddenly a hand grabbed him by the neck, lifting him easily into the air.

"YOU ARGGH!-" Cao Cao spilled blood from his mouth.

Samuel pierced his heart before he could keep talking.

Throwing his body to the side, he grabbed the True Longinus and put it in his inventory.

As he went to Xenovia he could see Jeanne and Siegfried were awake now.

Siegfried had a blank face. He accepted his end.

Jeanne was scared. Trembling when Lancaster was getting close.

Samuel kneeled before Siegfried while he pulled his Sacred Gear. Killing him in the process. He died without saying a word.

"WAIT WAIT PLEASE I WILL SERVE YOU PLEASE DON'T KILL ME!" Jeanne pleaded in terror. Tears in her eyes.

Samuel lifted her by the neck.

"You are not living up to her legend." With that said Samuel did the usual brutal pull again. Taking Blade Blacksmith and killing the false saint.

She was an insult to her legacy and everything she stood for.

Letting go the body from his grip as it hit the floor, he sighed.

"Are you okay? You stood there for a couple of seconds after that white flash." Xenovia asked a bit concerned.

"All fine...day just started and we need to deal with this bullshit." Samuel calmed her.

"And the white thing?" She asked.

"I'll tell you later."

With that he went to Leonardo who was still knocked on the floor.

Gently and in a perfect manner he pulled out Annihilation Maker from his soul.

Then he grabbed his body, carrying it carefully.

He was still alive and now he was free.

"What will we do with the kid?" Xenovia asked as she walked by his side.

"I will give him to Azazel...he can start a new and better life." He explained.

"They are waiting for us outside."

Samuel went outside his bounded field with Leonardo in his arms.

In this whole horrible situation, at least he was able to salvage something. The only good and innocent thing about the Hero Faction.

The kid's life.

Azazel and Sirzechs were waiting outside.

Not only those two. Vali and Issei in full Scale Mail with the whole Sitri and Gremory peerage.

Samuel in his armor full of blood and with the child in his hands walked towards them.

Most of the girls out there held their breath at Samuel's bloody sight carrying the child.

Some of them thought the worst just happened.

"We need to talk."

A/N 2:

...Yeah. Crazy chapter. I had a lot of fun writing this one.

Well I didn't want Samuel to one-shot the hero faction, so I lengthened it a little.

So what do you think of the fight?

I think I did okay for being a new author.

Good old Yahweh appeared too...such a great guy.

And yep, there is a reason Samuel was getting, let's say it..."dark" characters in the gacha like Pitch Black and Ranni and...others.

There is a reason why his favorite Sacred Gear is Annihilation Maker...a shadow-based Sacred Gear that can create monsters.

Well next chapter is the calm before THE STORM, as Samuel will dive into the Sacred Gears he acquired.

Let's talk about the first topic, okay?

-The things that didn't make it in the last chapter because of Webnovel (Please read this one)

Well, like I said earlier, the puny god line joke didn't make it (FCKKKKKKKKK)

It is what it is.

Another mistake I corrected was Loki calling Odin "dad"

When I was writing that part I put "dad" automatically. I changed it later to "All-Father" in the correction. But Webnovel basically told me to "eat a dick"...it is what it is.

So yeah, small retcon. Let's pretend he said "All-Father"

Very important clarification: they are not father and son in the DxD universe, like a reader pointed out. Good thing someone is paying attention.

My brain unconsciously put "dad" because of all the other universes where they are hahaha. I'm a goblin reader consumer after all hehe.

I remember making other polishments in his talk with Xenovia after the gathering and then in the next part with Indra...I don't remember what I polished, but it was not very important if I don't remember...heh.

Anyway, I was a bit mad ngl, but now I'm writing this more calmly eeeh it's okay.

Next topic.

-Different fanfiction pages and their situation.

Why am I bringing this up? Well, hear me out.

I will keep using this page, but after I finish this fanfic...right now this page stopped being my "main" page for reading fanfiction.

I can't take it anymore haha, the trolling in the previous chapter was the last straw.

I can't stand the botted Chinese translations that plague the rankings. If they were good, all good, but they are so bad.

And now there are a lot more of them. It's fucking crazy. So yeah, I prefer to read on other pages because of this.

I don't see the other pages having this problem because this is a Chinese page after all, like I said many times.

So yeah, after this fic have its end, I'm expanding my horizons to fanfictiondotnet and Wattpad.

Perhaps I'll publish a refined version of this fic (especially a refinement of the first chapters)

I like those two pages because you can say whatever you want, they don't shadowban your comment because you cursed.

So yeah, fanfictiondotnet is becoming my new main page now. Relax, I will keep publishing here.

I thought about SpaceBattles too, you know? But I don't like the page very much...

A friend told me the page has "Reddit" mods doing power plays and being a cancer like usual.

I saw favoritism towards female authors, white knighting them too, yep...the moderation is ass.

Funny thing, I commented one time on SpaceBattles saying some situation in a fic was stupid and I got a warning lol.

I also saw that they changed their logo color for Pride Month last year, all of that lgtb crap...that already told me everything I needed to know about that page.

Like Samuel would say...

It's just the inferior mindset.
