He had been in that backwoods part of the country for too long, that he thinks that a mediocre talent such as yours is something that transcends everything in the Guild of Arcana.
That's part of the reason why the other Mystic Masters hated Seberus. He always comes to the Guild praising you, telling all sorts of stories about your greatness as a wizard.
