[Chapter Size: 2100 Words.]
Third Person POV
Val Drahzûn.
...
...
The night sky was filled with dark clouds, illuminated by red flames and creatures flying in various colors spitting fire, while one of them, with humanoid-shaped armor, stood out with a sword and whip. All those creatures were fighting against a single bright blue being.
The Susanoo continued dancing between the attacks and the flames hurled at him, using his swords to cut them down while gliding through the sky with maneuvers better than any dragon could perform.
Roars of pain and rage echoed through the air, mixed with the sound of flesh being torn apart. Flames were continuously fired, along with the fire whip, lighting up the sky like an open hell.
The Susanoo defeated most of the dragons with ease, and it would not be long before he was rid of them for good. The reincarnation of destruction advanced, defending himself from Gaunter's attack while driving his sword into another dragon's body.
The sound of lightning began to rumble above them. Not only over the battle, but throughout the entire region, which was beginning to be consumed by black clouds, darkening the night sky even further.
The ancient dragons looked to the sky, worried.
"This was caused by the heat," said the ancient dragon, analyzing the situation.
Due to the enormous amount of flames used by the dragons, the valley was burning in several places, generating a large mass of hot air that rose upward, while the environment naturally had a mass of cold air above the valley, as it was located in a more frozen region in the far north.
The meeting of heat and cold began to turn the atmosphere chaotic. Black clouds started to fill the entire sky.
In the battle, Madara was struck in the next moment by Gaunter's sword, as he had no time to defend himself while the whip still kept his sword trapped. He was still pulling the blade from the dead dragon's body when he was hit.
He ended up being sent flying backward by the demon's attack and crashed into a mountain, causing a small landslide. Soon he appeared again, emerging from the destroyed rock and staring at the fire monster in the sky.
There were only a few dragons left in the sky at this moment, so Madara no longer even cared about them.
Gaunter dispelled the flaming sword and raised his hand upward. An extremely powerful ball of flames began to form.
Upon seeing that, Madara also raised the Susanoo's hand. Chakra began to circulate intensely, and he created a Rasengan spinning in the blue palm. In the next instant, he shot upward, while the fire monster launched its attack forward.
The Susanoo's wings beat powerfully as he advanced, sustaining his chakra against the ball of flames coming toward him. The entire sky began to light up with lightning.
At the moment the two forces collided, a supersonic explosion erupted between them. A tremendous roar echoed, and the two energies clashed uncontrollably, releasing a massive wave of power.
Even from a distance, the dragons felt the impact. The blue sphere and the red sphere fought each other with such intensity that the sky became even more violent. Lightning began to change color, turning purple, while several bolts struck across the region.
"What are we witnessing...?" The uncontrolled dragons were shocked.
It felt as if the world was about to end. This was far beyond what they could do. As proud beings, who called themselves the most powerful race in the world, they realized in that moment that perhaps they were not the strongest, as they watched the two energies colliding against one another.
Suddenly, they could no longer withstand it.
Both exploded.
BOOOOOOM
A torrent of light burst from the two forces, consuming several mountains around them. The explosion was colossal, blinding everything, far worse than the sun.
Elsewhere.
Ciri blinked suddenly. She did not stop clutching her own belly tightly as she looked ahead. Everyone grew worried upon seeing her enter a trance.
"Are you alright?" Yennefer asked immediately.
Geralt also stepped closer, along with Nenneke. Vesemir was watching nearby, while everyone there had gathered to discuss what was happening that night with dragons attacking the human world.
A few seconds earlier, Ciri had stopped speaking as her eyes began to glow. Her eyes became luminous, and she remained still for far too long, to the point that everyone grew even more apprehensive.
"Sorry... I was a little lost," she murmured carefully.
Geralt and Yennefer exchanged glances. "What did you see? Why do you look so worried?" Yennefer asked.
Ciri sighed. The news was not good. Kaer Morhen, which had been rebuilt with Madara's help, had been attacked by dragons.
Vesemir was not happy about that at all. He looked devastated, in fact. The wooden clone had managed to get him out in time. He had said he could restore the castle and also save the entire library, since he had kept all the books duplicated for years in his storage scrolls. But the problem was the other things that could not be—
"I saw Madara fighting," Ciri let out in a low tone.
"Not only against the dragons... but against a gigantic creature of flames. It carried a sword and a whip. I think it's him... Gaunter. The demon Madara is hunting. They are finally facing each other."
"There was lightning everywhere as the two of them clashed, using some kind of magic — and chakra..." She wasn't entirely sure.
"I'm worried about the father of my child... I saw him being consumed by a massive explosion that devastated entire mountains!" she said anxiously.
"His clone is still here, isn't it?" Yennefer pointed out.
"That's right! Madara's clone!" Ciri realized, as the clone reappeared before them.
"If something happens to my husband... you shouldn't still be here, should you?" she asked cautiously.
The clone nodded. "Yes," he replied simply.
"I understand... He's fine, I'm just very worried about the fight he's fighting, but I can also feel him. I just can't see the battle clearly anymore. I can only look to the north," Ciri murmured.
She kept her hands on her belly. 'Look... Your father is fighting for us...' She did not stop murmuring and hoping that Madara would emerge victorious, despite the confidence Ciri had in him.
Meanwhile, the site of the confrontation was devastated. Entire mountains had simply been vaporized. A massive crater spread throughout the region, as large as the Valley of Dragons itself.
The entire place was still under the pressure of the two energies that had collided. Dust, falling rocks, and the pressure of the explosive echo still resounded, lightning tore through the air, and violent purple thunderbolts struck the ground in several areas beneath the black clouds.
Amid all the dust, the Susanoo appeared, slightly displaced, its armor damaged. Madara, inside the crystal on its forehead, was unharmed, staring at the enemy.
At a distance, the creature also remained standing on the ground. It brushed part of the dust aside with its flames and revealed itself to be slightly wounded.
Its gaze was pure hatred.
"Well... it's time to end this," Madara narrowed his eyes.
He made the Susanoo raise one arm. A purple lightning in the shape of a Chidori began to form in its hand. The sky itself reacted, and the lightning began to converge toward the epicenter where the two of them stood. Even the demon looked surprised to see the bolts concentrating only in that area where they were.
"This..." The demon could feel the danger of it.
"As I said, let's end this," Madara repeated.
In the next instant, the lightning began to take shape. A purple dragon emerged from the clouds with a deafening roar.
There was no way to escape. Lightning is extremely fast. Madara did not give Gaunter time to even think. He raised the Susanoo's arm and brought it down with the Storm Chidori.
The lightning dragon roared and plummeted, advancing at absurd speed, striking directly at the creature of flames, which had no time to react before being consumed.
Once again, the night was illuminated by Madara's attack, as the lightning further devastated that region.
In the midst of the chaos that lasted a few seconds before fading and the echo began to settle, the creature appeared in the middle of the area destroyed by the lightning.
Gaunter had lost one arm, half of his face, and several parts of his body. Even so, he tried to rise, roaring. But the Susanoo descended from the sky once more, crushing him against the ground and grabbing him by the destroyed arm and the other still intact one, lifting him up and pinning him standing behind the creature of flames.
"You think this will stop me?!" the demon roared.
That was when a seal began to emerge on the ground beneath him.
Gaunter looked down, realizing that Madara had already prepared something. When he lifted his eyes, he saw Madara himself walking across the ground. The blue Susanoo holding him pinned behind was not the original Madara, but a clone. Madara had transferred a large portion of his chakra so that the clone could sustain the perfect Susanoo on its own.
He was almost out of chakra at this point, but he still had enough for the next step.
Madara began forming several hand seals, one after another. Behind him, a dark presence began to manifest.
The Shinigami appeared at Madara's back, its spectral and terrifying figure looming.
Gaunter immediately felt that thing and its energy. It was the same presence that had broken his contract before. That creature stood behind a power that not even he could comprehend.
What should have been impossible was happening before him.
And in that instant, he realized.
Madara intended to use that to kill him.
"No... impossible! I cannot be killed!" he exclaimed as he understood Madara's intentions.
But it was too late.
Madara activated the Shinigami jutsu, which immediately approached the creature's chest, penetrating its flaming skin and grabbing something within. A crimson-red soul began to be pulled out.
Gaunter felt in that instant what it meant. Not even in his worst nightmares had he imagined that someone would try to rip out his own soul to kill him, the true source of his power.
He, who lived off the wishes of others in exchange for their souls, was now about to lose his own.
Gaunter tried to struggle, but the Susanoo behind him kept him firmly restrained. He opened his mouth to spit flames at Madara, but the Susanoo's hand stretched out and closed it shut with ease.
"You will not interfere with this, Gaunter," said Madara's clone, inside the crystal on the Susanoo's forehead.
The demon thrashed violently, trying to break free, while more roots emerged from the ground and wrapped around his body, tightening with force.
For Madara, the original, sealing that soul was not easy at all. He had to concentrate an enormous amount of chakra. Little by little, the Shinigami pulled the red soul outward. But it was still massive, over 100 meters tall — sealing Gaunter would be a somewhat slow process.
Gaunter tried to speak, but he could not, his mouth sealed. His soul fought desperately to avoid being torn away. Even the Shinigami seemed to face resistance — or rather, Madara was facing it.
Without hesitation, he formed new hand seals. Giant wooden hands emerged from the ground, marked with fūinjutsu seals. They grabbed the soul and began pulling alongside the Shinigami.
The wooden hands and the Shinigami finally gained the advantage. The soul began to be torn out with greater force.
Gaunter fought with everything he had. His body erupted into intense flames, but the roots and the Susanoo kept him restrained, ignoring the devastating heat.
When the last fragment of his soul was pulled free, Gaunter simply stopped struggling. His body weakened, making it even easier to complete the process.
At last, the creature fell inert, slumping to the side, sustained only by the roots still wrapped around its body. Its flames began to fade, until nothing remained but a lifeless form of charred rock.
The Susanoo absorbed the red soul, cutting the last thread that still connected it to the petrified body.
Madara had to pay the price.
He offered Olgierd himself, who was already inside the Shinigami's stomach, as a sacrifice, since he no longer needed him. There was no reason to keep him. He used him as payment.
After that, Madara dispelled the Susanoo. The Shinigami vanished behind him, dissolving into the darkness.
In the next moment, Madara fell to his knees.
He was completely exhausted.
He had used too many jutsus that night. Distributed too much chakra among his clones, performing forbidden jutsus and powerful techniques.
But, in the end...
It was all over.
