The entire place descended into chaos.
One of the higher vampires turned into a living torch when Vilgefortz transformed his body into fire, using a spell powerful enough to completely incinerate him.
The two elven sages, beings hundreds of years old with a level of magic far beyond that of any sorcerer or mage in that world, began casting even more powerful spells.
With a simple wave of their hands, they paralyzed dozens of vampires. Moments later, they raised their arms and unleashed massive electrical discharges that struck entire areas, electrocuting more than fifty vampires at once.
Madara let out an impressed whistle from the ceiling.
He had only ever faced those sages one on one. The second time he had been in Aen Elle, he had also needed to face Avallac'h. Since he had only fought him while being the enemy of those sages, he had never seen them unleash area attacks of that magnitude.
"They really are on another level," Madara muttered.
He turned his attention to the powers of Vilgefortz and Hen Gedymdeith as they attacked the vampires. They were inferior to the sages, obviously.
Madara observed the vampires with a certain disappointment. Ciri would have no difficulty destroying that entire clan. Not even an Elder Vampire would be a problem.
Madara could wipe them all out even faster. And in a far crueler way. If he used the Nine-Tails and a Tailed Beast Bomb, he would turn that entire castle and everything inside it into dust.
But that way, he wouldn't be able to test those creatures. Madara wanted to better understand the vampires so he could pass that knowledge on in the future. This was an excellent opportunity to study them.
Even without using the Sharingan, he could still observe their movements and retain all that information.
The vampires were at a disadvantage. Meanwhile, the king, wounded by the explosion caused by the Wood Clone, watched everything in disbelief.
One of his arms was completely charred. Groaning in pain, he slowly backed away, trying to hide in a corner.
The vampires were no longer paying any attention to him. The Edo Tensei users did not even consider him a target.
The first summoned to be pierced and destroyed were the reanimated vampires. Then came the other sorcerers.
One of them lost his head. Others had their chests completely pierced by the claws of the higher vampires.
However... That did not stop the reanimated dead from continuing to attack. Those who had only had their chests pierced kept casting spells as if nothing had happened.
Even those who had lost their heads began to regenerate. Sheets of paper appeared out of nowhere, rapidly piling up until they completely reconstructed their bodies.
The vampires noticed that immediately. There was no flesh inside... The interior of their bodies was made up only of a strange kind of paper that continued rebuilding itself endlessly.
"What is happening?" one of them growled, but there was also doubt and caution in his voice.
More spells crossed the battlefield. The sages, Vilgefortz, and the other Edo Tensei users, now with practically infinite magic, began devastating the entire castle.
The entire fortress trembled. Dozens of vampires were reduced to ashes.
Realizing that their enemies were far too strong, the higher vampires decided to stop holding back their powers. Five of them had already been killed before they could even transform.
The remaining ones assumed their true forms. Their skin turned grayish. Their bodies grew grotesquely, and large wings emerged from their backs.
Within moments, they transformed into true beasts, far more powerful than in their humanoid forms.
The king trembled in fear as he watched those monsters slaughtering each other before his eyes, while Madara remained on the ceiling, observing everything upside down with his arms crossed.
One of the vampires finally spotted him by accident as he prepared to attack.
"You!" the vampire shouted, pointing at him.
Madara did nothing but blow gently. The next instant, a thin line of lightning pierced through the creature, slicing it cleanly from head to toe. The vampire's body split perfectly in half before falling to the ground.
He had used Storm Release. He was capable of firing a bolt of lightning directly from his mouth to eliminate an enemy with extreme ease.
He silenced that vampire before turning his attention back to the battle. The vampires began to regain a bit of their advantage.
They even surrounded the two sages, who, despite being extremely powerful, were still being attacked from every direction. Their bodies were repeatedly torn apart, turning into piles of paper.
But moments later, they began reconstructing themselves.
That deeply frustrated the vampires. It didn't matter how much they destroyed their enemies. They always came back.
The only one against whom they could do absolutely nothing was Gaunter. He slaughtered them in every way imaginable.
Not even Madara had seen that many of the being's abilities when he had been his enemy, mainly because he had never given him the chance.
Gaunter continuously stopped time. Whenever he did, he would appear in front of a vampire and simply drive a finger through its body. The next instant, a kind of lava erupted from inside the victim, killing it immediately with a scream of agony before lava began pouring out of its body.
Gaunter was, by far, the one exterminating the most vampires.
That made Madara wonder when the Elder Vampire would finally appear. He had no idea whether it was still asleep or already aware of their arrival. After all, the entire castle was shaking from the force of the attacks, yet he had the feeling that it was somewhere within that castle.
Perhaps resting, though not for much longer.
Not while the entire castle shook under lightning, explosions, and flames as vampires were relentlessly massacred. Madara wanted to witness the confrontation between that Elder Vampire and Gaunter.
And he didn't have to wait long. Soon, a furious voice echoed across the battlefield. It resonated throughout the entire castle, coming from deep within the fortress.
"What is happening here?" The voice was female.
Madara raised an eyebrow. "The Elder Vampire is a female... Interesting." He hadn't expected that. He had imagined finding some monstrous old man, not a woman.
"Please, help us, Lady Morgana!" shouted one of the vampires in his monstrous form.
Madara immediately sensed something moving at incredible speed from below. The presence crossed hundreds of meters in just a few seconds.
Then... A woman appeared in the middle of the battlefield.
She had an appearance Madara would never have expected from an Elder Vampire.
She was clearly using that form to seduce her victims. She had a slender body, covered only by a thin outfit that left much of her skin exposed. Her breasts were visible beneath those delicate clothes. The dress had a long slit along one leg, revealing almost her entire thigh in a sensual manner.
She didn't seem to feel the slightest embarrassment about dressing that way. Her long black hair flowed down her back. Her crimson eyes shone intensely.
She was a woman of extraordinary beauty.
The entire place fell silent for a moment. Everyone turned their attention toward her.
The vampire calmly observed the scene before her. She saw several Edo Tensei users completely reconstructing their bodies as sheets of paper wrapped around them until they were fully restored.
She also saw the King of Kovir, collapsed in a corner and trembling with fear. Until recently, he had still possessed the courage to accept his own death. But witnessing that war had completely shattered his resolve.
Now, only despair remained.
"And what are these things..." she said, tilting her head slightly to one side as she examined one of the Edo Tensei users before her, knowing it was not a living being...
"Lady Morgana, we don't know what these creatures are. They are immortal. They've already killed at least eighty of ours. No matter how much we destroy them, they always come back. There are powerful beings among them... and one of them is so powerful that we can't even defeat him!" one of the higher vampires reported, clearly uneasy.
The Elder Vampire merely listened with curiosity. Then she raised her head and looked toward the ceiling, where Madara still remained, as though his hiding place meant nothing to the new being that had just arrived.
"Are these the creatures you summoned?" she asked, smiling as she revealed her fangs.
Madara kept his eyes fixed on her. Then his gaze darkened, and the next instant, his eyes transformed into the Sharingan.
"And if they are?" he replied.
For the first time, he showed genuine interest in the vampires. He had never faced an Elder Vampire before, and his curiosity about seeing Gaunter fight her vanished.
The vampire held his gaze for a few seconds. "Then I'll have to kill you."
Madara found that answer interesting. Under the watchful eyes of all the vampires, he simply let himself fall from the ceiling, with approximately thirty meters separating him from the ground.
Even so, he landed gently, as though the height meant absolutely nothing. He stopped in front of the woman, keeping his arms crossed.
At that moment, facing that creature was far more interesting, especially when she seemed so arrogant...
The woman also continued observing Madara with great interest. Then she looked back at the king, who was lying in a corner.
"So... is this the man you wanted us to kill?" she asked curiously.
"Yes, Lady Morgana. He is Madara Uchiha. But he is not an ordinary human. I warned you."
"No... he really isn't," she admitted.
Then she turned her attention back to Madara. "Tell me... are you human?"
"I am human," he replied calmly. "But I am also an Uchiha, and I am a shinobi."
She had no idea what that meant. Even so, she smiled. Her tongue slowly passed over her red lips.
The vampires around them remained cautious. Any vampire, even among the higher vampires, would have been captivated by receiving that vampire's attention.
Madara merely scoffed. At that moment... He decided he was going to kill her.
"You are far more interesting than the king told me. Perhaps I'll make you my toy," she said.
"Tsk. Such arrogance... I will never be anyone's toy. In fact, I intend to turn you into one of my soldiers."
"Hahaha! I've never heard such audacity, human... But let's forget that for now."
"Show me what an Elder Vampire is capable of. Let's dance." Madara assumed a fighting stance.
She simply laughed again, and the next instant, she disappeared.
Vilgefortz, who had just reconstructed his own body, appeared in her path. His body immediately dissolved into a cloud of paper.
She simply passed straight through that position at incredible speed. The next instant...
She was already standing before Madara. To everyone else, it was impossible to follow, even for the sorcerers, mages, and sages.
Everything happened in slow motion. Madara remained perfectly still, seemingly with no intention of reacting.
When the vampire lunged with her claws... A layer of chakra instantly emerged.
She slammed into a shield formed from blue bones. The force of the impact forced her to take several steps back.
Immediately afterward, Madara released more Susanoo aura, and a massive blue skeletal arm crashed into the ground where the vampire had been standing.
And he didn't stop. As he watched the vampire evade once again and fall backward, the Susanoo's hand formed three gigantic blue tomoe of energy that began spinning rapidly in its palm.
The next instant... They were launched.
The vampire couldn't even dodge in midair. The projectiles struck her body and sent her flying before exploding against one of the fortress walls.
It was the same attack Madara had used to carve a path through the castle.
"Lady Morgana!" the vampires shouted. They all watched the scene in complete disbelief.
They couldn't even follow the movements of the two. Madara remained standing in the same spot. Only one arm of the Susanoo remained materialized.
Then he dispelled the energy, and the Susanoo disappeared. He knew that wouldn't be enough to kill her.
And he was right, because a few seconds later... She emerged from the rubble.
Blood trickled down her forehead and lips. Her clothes were practically destroyed, leaving much of her body exposed for everyone to see. Only a few scraps of her dress remained covering her.
She stared at Madara with narrowed eyes. The blow had not caused any serious damage.
But... She was furious. She had realized that she had underestimated that human.
Madara merely watched her with a calm expression, as though she were not all that impressive.
The other vampires didn't even have time to react. The Edo Tensei users resumed attacking them, and the war continued. More vampires were destroyed, while the Edo Tensei warriors continued to reconstruct themselves endlessly.
The Elder Vampire charged again, and so did Madara.
Before anyone realized it... The two were already standing face to face.
A hand-to-hand battle began immediately.
Madara fought using his taijutsu. She fought like a true beast.
The vampire was astonished. Madara was just as fast as she was. Her speed was normally great enough that no living being could even see her movements.
But that human... was completely different.
An Elder Vampire could easily kill an experienced witcher like Geralt before he even realized he was under attack. After all, Geralt couldn't even keep up with one when he encountered one in the game.
But Madara was far superior to any mutant in that world. Perhaps... a thousand times faster than a witcher, even with a conservative estimate.
The battle continued. Using only the three-tomoe Sharingan, Madara was able to keep up with every movement of the Elder Vampire.
She was no longer holding back. She tried to slash him in every possible way.
Until, suddenly, she felt her hand being deflected to the side, leaving her guard wide open. The next instant... She took a direct punch to the stomach.
Her body was sent flying several meters before rolling across the ground. She quickly got back to her feet.
She roared like a true monster and charged once more.
Meanwhile, the vampires continued losing ground to the Impure World Reincarnations. Of the original two hundred, only about sixty remained.
Even the higher vampires, already transformed into their monstrous forms, continued being massacred, and entire groups of lamias were wiped out.
Madara, meanwhile, kept all of his attention focused on the Elder Vampire. The two had already left the castle.
Now they were fighting in the middle of the forest. The vampire was not only incredibly fast, but also possessed monstrous strength.
Entire trees were uprooted with every exchange of blows. Every collision produced a massive explosion, while Madara coated his fists with his powerful chakra.
His strength was so overwhelming that every impact created sonic booms and violent shockwaves. It was only natural that everything around them began to be devastated.
The vampire fell once again. For the first time... A flash of fear appeared in her eyes.
All of the arrogance she had displayed at the beginning of the battle had vanished. Now she looked at that human with nothing but fear.
She knew... That she would die if she stayed there.
Madara watched her with disappointment. She was completely covered in injuries.
Meanwhile... He didn't have so much as a scratch.
The vampire turned her back and started running.
"Wait, you're... running away?" Madara raised an eyebrow before immediately taking off after her.
