Third Person POV
Kovir.
...
...
"Who did this?" one of the creatures growled from inside the hole.
The fangs of two vampires emerged from the vampire's mouth as they stared at the massive opening created by the attack. Whatever had been launched at them, there was no longer any sign of whoever was responsible.
Only the forest and a few rocky peaks about two hundred meters away from the location.
"Go find out who did this!" one of the higher vampires ordered.
Eight higher vampires immediately rushed out of the castle, running toward the forest to find whoever was responsible for the attack.
The lamias were also agitated. But they couldn't go outside under the daylight.
"Interesting..." Madara silently watched everything from behind the crowd and began counting, around two hundred vampires.
Fifty of them are higher vampires. The other 150 belong to lower ranks. There are also three dozen lamias here.
Madara had never imagined that a vampire clan could be this powerful. They would certainly be capable of destroying an entire kingdom if they wanted to.
But now, they were working for Kovir. Perhaps because they knew the kind of trouble they would cause if they were recognized as a threat by any kingdom.
Humans would send army after army. They would never leave them alone until the last vampire had been exterminated. And no matter how powerful they were... Humans were simply too numerous.
Even the ancestral vampires knew what a nuisance they were considered, preferring not to interfere with human society and instead remain in the shadows.
For that reason, they normally avoided getting directly involved with human kingdoms. Except for the one the king had managed to persuade.
In any case, that ancestral vampire probably believed he would only have to face a single man named Madara and protect his ally.
To him, protecting the king and destroying the human called Madara should have been easy. After all, vampires had never been interested in thoroughly investigating who Madara truly was.
Otherwise... They would never have believed it would be that simple.
In truth, Madara only wanted to have a little fun with those creatures. It wasn't every day that he encountered enemies like them. And fighting them head-on would probably be boring.
"Then let's see how they react to a few things." The first thing he did was take advantage of the fact that none of them could detect him.
Hidden atop one of the castle's rooftops, he watched the vampires' desperation as they tried to understand what had happened, all while carrying the unconscious king under one arm.
Using only his eyes, he teleported him directly into the middle of them.
Everyone was startled when a man simply fell from the sky and hit the ground right in the center of the group.
The impact caused the king himself to wake up, completely disoriented.
"A human!" one of the vampires shouted, immediately grabbing the fallen man's neck.
The king didn't even have time to say a single word. The vampire's claws were already tightening around his neck.
"Hey, wait! That's the king of this human kingdom!!" another higher vampire shouted.
"Why is the king here?" asked a woman, also a higher vampire.
"It can't be that he simply appeared in the middle of us right after that attack. What kind of coincidence would that be?"
"He is behind this attack, obviously. He betrayed us!" the ancestral vampire growled, keeping a firm grip around the king's neck.
"No. There's something wrong here," the female higher vampire said.
"It doesn't make sense for the king to fall right into the middle of us. He's just a fragile human. Besides, the king is the one who has been covering for us until now. Just because he appeared here right after the attack doesn't mean he betrayed us."
The logic made sense.
The vampire holding the king's neck quickly loosened his grip, though he remained on guard.
"Well... now we need to find out exactly what's going on here," another vampire said, staring at the king, who began coughing violently after being released.
"He brought me here!" the king said as soon as he was able to speak.
"Who brought you?" one vampire asked, surprised by the desperation in the king's voice.
"Madara Uchiha! The one I asked you to protect me from! He already knows about your existence."
"He's back. Madara Uchiha is back!"
The vampires exchanged glances, unable to understand why a single human inspired so much fear...
"Is he in the forest?" one of them asked.
The king shook his head. "You don't understand. He could be anywhere. Maybe he's just watching us and laughing at you. I warned you that he wasn't someone you could deal with easily when I hired you."
The king was still rubbing his neck, where the claws had left several deep cuts. He was frightened and furious at the same time.
"Were you looking for me?" Madara's voice came from behind them.
Everyone immediately turned around. Madara was standing near the castle's other destroyed entrance.
The vampires' eyes widened when they saw a young man standing so close to them without any of them noticing his approach, and they bared their fangs with growls.
But unlike what they had expected... There was only a single human standing before them, and that human showed not the slightest sign of fear.
He merely watched them with an amused smile. "I have to admit... This is the first time I've encountered an entire vampire clan."
"And that shouldn't be a good thing for you, human," one of the female vampires growled, baring her fangs.
"In all my years in this world, I've only met two vampires I didn't have to kill. I've already killed a few dozen of your kind. But I've never seen so many gathered in one place." He paused, remaining completely calm before the crowd.
"Unfortunately, even so... even in these numbers, I'm sure this will still be rather boring." Madara spoke with all the arrogance he could display.
His three-tomoe Sharingan glowed intensely. Many vampires also had red eyes, but none of them compared to his.
"That's why I want to see how you fare against some of my soldiers." Before anyone could react, Madara raised his hands.
He didn't need to form a long sequence of hand seals. He merely brought his palms together.
"Impure World Reincarnation Technique. Edo Tensei."
The next moment... Ten coffins began rising from the ground.
One after another.
The vampires instinctively stepped back at the sight.
Soon after... The lids of the coffins began to fall.
Inside them were ten figures. They all remained standing, their shoulders slumped, their arms hanging at their sides, and their heads slightly lowered, as if they were lifeless.
Then... They all opened their eyes at the same time.
The vampires were completely stunned; there was no life within those beings...
"This... is necromancy!" one of the higher vampires realized. As creatures of darkness, they understood that school of magic, and even though he couldn't sense anything, because he couldn't sense chakra, every sign pointed to exactly that.
The ten figures began taking a few steps forward, looking around with confused expressions, as if they had no idea why they were there.
"This again..." one of them said, looking at Madara with a mixture of disgust and even fear.
"What is it, Vilgefortz? You've become a good soldier. Did you really think I would let you go that easily?" Madara shrugged at the disturbed man.
That was precisely why he used Edo Tensei, since it allowed him to make the most powerful people he had faced fight by his side as his soldiers.
Vilgefortz couldn't help but shudder. He remembered perfectly the boy he had looked upon with such greed years ago, through the spies and the information that came from Cintra.
He had always been deeply interested in that child's power. What he had never expected... Was to end up like this. As an undead puppet for that very same child...
He knew he was dead. Yet years later, that boy ruled the land with a form of necromancy he had never seen before.
Vilgefortz might have lost control over his own body, but he still remembered everything. He remembered when he had been used to fight the dragons attacking cities.
His body had become practically indestructible. It was now made from a kind of paper that regenerated continuously. Even when it was completely destroyed by the dragons' flames, it would reconstruct itself again.
On top of that... His magic was limitless. He could use it as much as he wanted.
That was a kind of power not even he had imagined could exist. A power he would have gladly accepted... If the price hadn't been becoming an undead being and someone else's puppet.
If he had known that this would be his fate... He would have fled that continent long ago. He never would have approached that boy.
And it wasn't just him. Other sorcerers had also been summoned. Including those who had fought alongside Vilgefortz.
"What is this?" growled one of the two Aen Elle elven sages whom Madara had killed during the first invasion of their world, in the attack on Aretuza.
Madara had killed them in the royal palace, but he had managed to collect samples from their bodies the second time he entered their world after discovering everything about Clone Ten. Naturally, he wasn't going to waste two powerful Edo Tensei summons.
There was also a Wild Hunt elven warrior, someone who had survived the first encounter against the Complete Susanoo, but whom Madara killed the second time he entered that world with Ciri.
"How dare you use me in this way, inferior creature?" Eredin growled. He was the elf Madara had killed and turned into one of his soldiers.
"You're a soldier now. That reminds me... You enjoyed enslaving other people. Now you're a slave even after death."
Eredin clenched his teeth upon hearing that and tried to attack, but there was someone even faster among them.
"How can this be...?" The next moment... Everything seemed to freeze as he charged at Madara. No one was able to see his movement, no one could move...
After all...
He had stopped time.
Madara, however, moved when no one else could and did nothing more than raise his hand and make a two-finger sign.
The man completely lost the ability to move.
"What is it, demon?" Madara gave a faint smile as he looked at Gaunter O'Dimm, who had also been summoned through Edo Tensei. His soul should have been inside the Shinigami, but Madara had freed him over the past three years after obtaining what he needed to do so in one of the worlds.
"That's impossible... I..."
"You lost to me, remember? I destroyed you in our battle. I took your soul, then used it to make you into this... You caused far too much trouble by manipulating the minds of dozens of dragons. Now, you're under my control..." Madara said mockingly.
Gaunter still couldn't believe it. He was only a few inches away from grabbing Madara's neck... but his body simply refused to respond.
The vampires were left speechless as they watched those beings acting and complaining about Madara.
There were Aen Elle elves wearing their Wild Hunt armor, there were two elven sages, most of them were mages like Vilgefortz and Hen Gedymdeith, there were sorcerers, there were vampires as well, and even a demon among the ten Edo Tensei.
Madara did not summon the shinobi from this world.
In any case, all ten of them looked at Madara with confusion and hatred. They immediately snarled at him, but they couldn't do absolutely anything.
They knew very well how they had died, and how pathetically they had fallen to that single human.
"So this is it... We've become slaves even after death," said one of the summoned vampires, causing the living vampires to stare at them in complete shock once again.
Madara merely raised his hand and formed a seal. Suddenly...
All of the summoned became completely expressionless. They lost every trace of confusion, anger, or indignation. They returned to staring forward like simple puppets, remaining perfectly still.
"I want you to kill every vampire in this area, but do not harm the king. I want him to witness everything."
As they received their orders, the Edo Tensei began moving away from the coffins. The lids slowly returned to their places. Then the coffins sank back into the earth, one after another, disappearing completely.
Madara silently watched everything before turning his attention back to the vampires.
Some of those who had gone out to investigate the forest were already returning, trying to understand what was happening.
Madara took a step forward and slowly walked toward the king behind the vampires. The man watched him with absolute terror. The idea of being enslaved after death was even worse than any fate he could imagine.
He certainly didn't want to become a puppet like those. Madara noticed his gaze and merely scoffed. "You have no power, King."
"I've already taken all the information I needed from your mind without you even noticing. You don't have enough value to become an Edo Tensei for me. I only want you to watch as all of your vampires die."
"After that... it doesn't matter. But you will fall as well." Madara continued walking without showing the slightest fear.
He stopped just a few inches away from the vampires, who continued snarling at him, though now with much greater caution, at least most of them. One of them could no longer hold back and lunged with his claws.
He finally pierced Madara's chest. Madara didn't even try to stop him. He simply allowed the blow to pass through him.
But if they believed they had won... They were completely mistaken.
Madara's body began to twist.
Moments later... It transformed into wood.
It was only a Wood Clone.
Madara had intentionally allowed them to destroy it because surrounding the humanoid wooden body were dozens of explosive tags.
They all ignited at the same time. The vampire felt a bad premonition.
He tried to pull his claws back immediately, but it was already too late.
The next instant... A massive explosion engulfed the area.
The shockwave hurled all the nearby vampires backward. Those who had been closest to the clone were not so fortunate.
They were completely consumed by the explosion. Their bodies turned into masses of blood scattered across the entire area. Even for vampires, they had no time to react at such close range to the blast.
At the same time, all of the Edo Tensei charged at them simultaneously.
Elves, sorcerers, other vampires, and even the demon. Madara, the real one, was on the rooftop. He wanted to see how they would deal with that situation.
There were around two hundred vampires and another thirty-six lamias.
He couldn't help but enjoy the magnificent spectacle unfolding before his eyes.
Although the movements seemed slow to him, it wasn't because the enemies were weak. Madara even deactivated his Sharingan. Not because he was tired. He was already capable of keeping it active all the time.
He did it only because he wanted to enjoy the battle more. Even without the Sharingan, everyone still seemed slow in his eyes.
After everything he had achieved, those movements were almost childish to him. Even so, he watched in silence.
The vampires and the warriors summoned by Edo Tensei immediately clashed.
Spells streaked across the battlefield, and the massive axes in Eredin's hands swung with tremendous force.
Claws tore through the air.
Magic, swords, and every kind of attack were unleashed against the vampires as the battle plunged the castle into complete chaos.
