Dariel walked into the dining room with a brimming smile on his face. It was a good day. It was not as cold as yesterday and he was looking forward to eating a dish he loved in the evening. The only thing he was not prepared for was seeing his only daughter seated at her usual spot in the dining room.
The smile on his face dropped. His eyes met Angelica's in a second. Angelica already knew what was on his mind from the moment their eyes locked.
"Greetings, father," she bowed her head.
"What are you doing here?" he wasted no time to go straight to the point.
"I came here to visit you and mother," she said.
"Do not lie to me girl. You are running away from your husband, how can you be here again? Were you not here just yesterday?!" he scoffed.
"Yes, mother said this will always be my home and I can come and visit any time I want.".
"Your mother is simply enabling you, that is not the—".
