Chapter 8 - Don't Touch What's Mine

Lucas arrives at school and walks straight up to Alex. Alex smiles, but Lucas casually removes his lollipop and pops it into Alex's mouth. Alex immediately blushes, his face turning bright red, while Lucas winks and heads off to play basketball.

Embarrassed, Alex hides behind his book, trying to cover his tomato-red face.

At the end of the day, the bell rings. Lucas runs to find Alex but spots him talking to another boy just outside a classroom. He stands a little distance away, unable to hear them, but clearly sees the boy handing Alex a bouquet of flowers.

Lucas feels a surge of anger.

Before Alex can react, Lucas dashes forward, grabs his wrist, and pulls him behind his back. "Leave," Lucas snaps at the boy.

A brief tension hangs in the air, like a fight might break out—but the boy backs off and walks away.

Lucas, still gripping Alex's wrist tightly, drags him into an empty classroom. He shuts the door and pins Alex against the wall.

"What the hell was that about?" Lucas demands loudly. "If I wasn't there, you were just going to take them?"

Alex tries to explain, but Lucas isn't listening. Instead, he hoists Alex over his shoulder and marches toward the door. Alex squirms and kicks.

"Where are we going?!" Alex protests.

Lucas tries the door—it won't budge.

"...Huh?" Alex blinks.

"Shit," Lucas mutters. "We're locked in."

It's already past school hours. The building is empty.

"Dammit!" Lucas bangs on the door in frustration.

After a few minutes, Alex asks quietly, "Are we... stuck here?"

Lucas exhales. "Yeah... I guess we have to stay the night."

"This is your fault!" Alex snaps.

Lucas stays silent, the pressure building, ignoring him.

"Do you even care?" Alex shouts. "We're trapped because of you!"

Still no response.

Finally, Alex walks up to him, his anger fading. His expression softens. Without another word, he gently kisses Lucas on the cheek.

Lucas freezes, then pulls him closer, looking at him with wide, almost childlike eyes.
